THE MARINE'S RETURN takes readers to remote Africa as a woman tries to bring medical help to indigenous tribes and as a man tries to come to terms with his new reality after losing a limb serving in the military. The story is full of heart, conviction, friendship, family, and sweet romance. Recommended to fans of the series and of sweet romance.

Goodness, these characters! They were quite entertaining. Lexi was full of spunk. She's a strong, skilled and independent woman. She also selflessly serv

Marine, Chad Corallis is an angry depressed man. While dedicating himself to service for his country, in Marine Special Forces, he sacrificed a limb to save others. Now, how can he be any good to anyone? His whole life has been entered on being a career Marine. He knows nothing else. The most he can hope for is an office job which would drive him crazy! He presently mopes around his parents home..useless.
Chad had encouraged his best friend to join the military, as well. Chad was not able to atte

Full disclosure on my review.  The first book that I have read by this author; last book in the series;  the setting is in Africa, and I really didn't know what to expect.  Well, let me tell you this book surprised me in ways that I never saw coming.  Seriously.  I read a lot of Heartwarming books but this one just grabbed me and wouldn't let go.  It is a very fast paced book.  Most books in this line take their time but Ms. Sinara didn't write it like that.  The book covers about a month if tha ...more

This series has been a fave with its Kenya setting & diverse and engaging characters. I’ve loved how we started with one generation and followed it down through their children as well. The Marine’s Return feels like the last book and, if indeed it is, it makes the perfect sendoff.

Chad and Lexi are compelling characters, their stories drawing you in and making it easy to root for them. A secondary romance playing out in the background adds further dimension to an already layered plot.

Bottom line:

When this book is described as “clean,” they aren’t kidding. I can’t remember a single kiss, and barely any touching. Aside from the HEA, I’d barely call this a romance; it’s got way more scene setting and family tree explanation. Lots of backstory on every character who comes into the camp more than once.

Also, what’s the deal with the lower right corner of the cover? Is that someone ELSE’S arm?

4.5 stars.
The hero's strength and stoicism are amazing, but perhaps too much maturity for his age (24)?
Loved the setting, and the author's love and knowledge about it.

Lexi was determined To keep her dead husband’s dreams going by working at the Serengeti medical clinic and raising their baby to know a part of his fathers heritage. But when Chad found out that his best friends very pregnant wife was working at the clinic, Chad was determined to close the clinic down because he had made a promise to his friend, that if anything happened to him, Chad was to take care of his wife. Well, the time has come for Chad to fulfill that purpose. A

Romance in the heart of Kenya

My rating is 3.5 stars

Kenya is a country on my list of places I would love to visit. And I enjoyed being able to do that vicariously through The Marine’s Return.

Though wounded, Chad was a strong character. He had been injured and was suffering from phantom pains in his arm that was no more yet still had a strong need to protect and to serve. Until he helped his dad secure the clinic in the bush, he had felt he had lost his purpose. I liked Chad with his vulnerability

Another winner!

I love each story in the From Kenya...with Love series--not only do the characters feel like old friends (a feat that they manage even if you haven't read all--or any--of the other series books) but the setting is absolutely amazing. Even though I've never been to Kenya, I almost feel as if I have once I finish one of these books. The Marine's Return is no exception to this rule!

I really enjoyed Chad and Lexi's story. It's a solid bl

This is a book that everyone should read. Freedom is not free. A lot of our veterans go underappreciated. Chad is a veteran. He thinks that his life is over because he is injured. however fate has other plans for him. He feels responsible for his comrades, and he is trying to deal with his own issues. He is not that nice to his mom at the beginning of the book, and I loved how his dad was the Boss, and also a marine. It is ironic that his mom gets so much drama. because she is the reason he is s ...more

4 1/2 STARS!

A great ending to the From Kenya, With Love series! With the final book in this eye-opening, emotional series, Rula Sinara brings back a familiar character, all grown up and facing the fight of a lifetime. The story line was quickly entrenched in emotions and intrigue, and watching Chad and Lexi connect was rewarding. Getting to catch up with so many of the past members of the series was a wonderfully fitting ending. Absolutely loved it and sorry to see the series end!

Last of the From Kenya, with Love. In this story, we meet Chad Corallis all grown up and a wounded Marine trying to learn how to live without a limb. He goes home to his Kenyan roots only to be confronted by the pregnant widow of his best friend. Lexi is eager to talk about her late husband, but Chad does not, given that he blames himself for Tony's death.

But Chad's father convinces him to look for a poacher who may have placed Chad's mother and Lexi in danger. They have reports that the man may

I started reading Rula's stories with Haki's story. Today I got to read Chad and Lexi's story. Talk about a powerful ending to the series. I loved the ones I got to read of Rula's. The way she draws you into the story makes it very hard to put it down. I suggest you have some klennex handy. She gives you a view of growing up without a family thru Lexi. Then being drawn into one thru her husband's family. She brings the life of the Serengeti to life in these stories. It brings to life the circle ...more

The Marine’s Return is the sixth and final installment from Rula Sinara’s series, From Kenya, With Love. It is, also, my first introduction to both Miss Sinara’s writing and this series. I thought this book was pretty good. Chad and Lexi were great characters that I enjoyed getting to know. The story is one that was sweet, clean and heartwarming. It did tug at my heart at times, too.
I am giving The Marine’s Return four and a half stars. I would love to go back and read the others in the From Ken

Found this book while looking for something new, it fit the bill and of course it was number 6. I realized when looking at the cover I had started one of the others in the series but just couldn't get into it. This one was so different, I was immediately drawn into the story and needed to know how things were going to go. The main characters had never met but both knew of one another from a mutual friend. Would their meeting bring too many raw emotions to the forefront and not allow them to have ...more

If you haven’t read any of the From Kenya, With Love series, I highly recommend you do. The Marine’s Return is the third book I’ve read in the series, but it is the final book in this series. You can read it any of the books as a stand alone. I read After the Silence and Through the Storm and loved them.

This series takes place over several years, and in The Marine’s Return, a character from the second book in the series is the main character in this one. He was four years old in After the Silenc

I received this book for free from the Prism Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Will Lexi and Chad heal each other?
The Marine’s Return by Rula Sinara is fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the characters, the setting, and family. Lexi and Chad are such beautiful characters, their story adds splendidly to the others in the From Kenya, With Love Series. I haven’t read the first five books but if I find the ti
