*May contain mild spoilers for The Dark Elements trilogy*

[Update: Feb. 8th, 2019]

This book is absolutely fantastic not only because it's the first installment of the spin-off series for The Dark Elements, where Roth (the Crown Prince of Hell) ended up with Layla (half Warden, half Demon), leaving Zayne the Warden heartbroken, but also because Zayne FINALLY met someone badass and lovely. <3

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE DARK ELEMENTS & THIS BOOK!!!

Full review coming closer to publication date.

This had a bit of a rocky start but I have to say it managed to grow on me.

“Storm and Fury” takes on new mythology as gargoyles, yes you read that right, are known as Warden’s who protect the human race from demons and sometimes they take in strays who happen to be half human and half angel which is the perfect mix for a weapon that can destroy any creature, good or evil. As Trinity tries to keep her identity hidden a new clan comes to town bringing with it a greater demon hellbent on feasting

I'm so happy Zayne is getting his own book and I can't wait to read it! I'm hoping we get lots of snippets of Roth, Layla and Bambi.
Suzi (Obsessive Reading Disorder)
YES! Yes! Freaking Zayne! Gah! The gargoyles are back and ....it's Zayne! I was totally team Roth in the previous series. This spin off in the gargoyle/demon world takes us back to Zayne and what he has been up to since the events that ended the earlier books.

You can read this with out knowing the other series but go back and read it! This one gives us classic Armentrout characters: NA angst, blooming sexual tension, coming into the person one is meant to be, oh yeah, and gargoyles, demons, gho

For those of you who haven't read JLA's Dark Elements series, don't let the "gargoyle shape-shifter" thing turn you off. I promise it's not as weird as it sounds. (Just like the aliens in her Lux series)

That being said, I'm a huge JLA fan, so when I found out she was writing a spin off of the Dark Elements series, I almost cried. This book was everything I expected, but also so much more. I ADORE Trinity. She's strong and fierce and flawed, and I loved that JLA brought retinitis pigmentosa (a de

Epic news from JLA!

I’m so excited to announce I have a new YA book coming out in Summer 2019. I’ve hinted about this book. You’ll going to recognize quite a few characters. One of them turns into stone. Another likes to hum Paradise City. Yep! I’m going back into the world of the Dark Elements. The book is called BENEATH THE SKIN. While it came be read as a standalone, you definitely have a lot of time to get caught up before getting to know Zayne on a whole different level and yes, you’ll see R

I received a free copy of this ARC from Harlequin TEEN (US & Canada) through Netgalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

OH MY GOSH!!! I loved this book so much!!! It's fun, fast paced and hooooottttt!!!! It's so hard for me to review a book when I enjoyed it this much, because all I want to do is sream!!! Ok, ok.
I've only read one other series by J.L. Armentrout, the Lux series and I did enjoy it but this was so much better!

This book was a total blast to read!

Trinity, our protagonist, was a quirky and hilariously witty character who provided us with laugh-out-loud and humorous narration! I feel as if her point of view could sometimes be a little... over the top eccentric ("Holy crap on a cracker the size of Texas!"), but it was overall super fun to read! Her perspective was always fascinating to see through, and I loved reading her reactions and thoughts towards different events that played out within the story. I

Brandi Kosiner (Brandi Breathes Books)
I wanted to read this because she is one of me favorite authors and was glad to be approved on netgalley. This doesn't effect my review because I would have loved it just as hard regardless and will probably still buy on release day.

I liked Trinity from the beginning, she's fierce, witty and it's good to be in her head. She has the sarcasm that we're used to in JLA's main characters but it feels fresh. She is also so resilient. She faces challenges from her eye sight but she just trains harder

I absolutely loved the Dark Elements series, so I was SO excited when Jennifer Armentrout announced that she was doing a spin off series following Zayne.

Let's start off with the characters.

Trinity was awesome. She's a kind of amalgamation of JLA's snarky characters. She's a fighter like Alex, witty like Katy, loyal like Layla, etc. (I know there are more, but in an effort to not have a paragraph of names I will stop there.) She was a lot of fun to read and I laughed out loud at a lot of her one

Having just finished the latest addition to my JLA library I am at a loss for words to express how I feel about this book. I can start by saying that I absolutely love this author. Every book she has written speaks to me in a personal way and this story was no different. However, I was not expecting the stirring of emotion that Storm and Fury created in my heart! Before receiving this book, I really didn’t know I needed more of the warden world. When the original story concluded putting Layla wi ...more

A snow day plus a new Armentrout? YASSSS!

I count on Armentrout. She consistently delivers witty, strong heroines and urban fantasy world-building that feels so right to me. I recommend her books often, especially to readers who just want to dip into a fantasy plot quickly without decoding complicated magical/world systems. You can truly open her fantasy books and just enjoy--my brain welcomes it.

Storm & Fury is part of the Dark Elements universe and while you needn't have read the other th

First off, the page count for the ARC is way off. This bad-boy has 535 pages, not 300-whatever Goodreads has listed.

Second, I. LOVED. THAT.

It was so much fun to be back in this world with these characters—old AND new! I had the chance to read a very early version (only a few chapters), and while I enjoyed that one, THIS version knocked my socks off!

For real. It’s been a hot minute since a story has pulled me in and kept me reading until the early hours of the morning.

This book was received as an ARC from Inkyard Press in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was so enticed by this novel from the title alone. From that I knew this book will be packed with adventure. Storm and Fury was a combination of Eragon, Mortal Instruments, and Twilight all in one. I was waiting for a book like this that I would be able to read from beginning to end, patiently awaiting the second installment. I really hope m

Thank you to NetGalley and Edelweiss for the E-Arc copy of this novel. I would also like to thank the publisher for allowing me to review a copy of this novel.
Jennifer L. Armentrout has been on a tear in writing young adult novels. Each novel brings it's own flavor to young adult literature. I have to say though Storm and Fury has a lot to offer rather than just your run of the mill YA fantasy. She has incorporated a wonderfully witty character who has overcome a disability to be the lead charac

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Trinity Marrow has a secret destiny in this spin-off to the Dark Elements trilogy.
