Ali left everything behind to begin a new life in a new town. Finding an apartment, a car, a job—nothing proved as difficult as choosing Boxers or Briefs.
Haley Rhoades’s writing is another bucket-list item coming to fruition, just like meeting Stephen Tyler and skydiving. As she continues to write romance and young adult books, she plans to complete her remaining bucket-list items, including ghost-hunting, storm-chasing, and bungee jumping. She is a Netflix-binging, Converse-wearing, avidly-reading, traveling geek. A team player, Haley thrived as her spouse’s career moved the family of four eight times to three states. One move occurred eleven days after a C-section. Now with two adult sons, Haley copes with her newly emptied nest by writing and spoiling Nala, her Pomsky. A fly on the wall might laugh as she talks aloud to her fur-baby all day long. Haley’s under five-foot, fun-size stature houses a full-size attitude. Her uber-competitiveness in all things entertains, frustrates, and challenges family and friends. Not one to shy away from a dare, she faces the consequences of a lost bet no matter the humiliation. Her fierce loyalty extends from family, to friends, to sports teams. Haley’s guilty pleasures are Lifetime and Hallmark movies. Her other loves include all things peanut butter, Star Wars, mathematics, and travel. Past day jobs vary tremendously from an elementary special-education para-professional, to a YMCA sports director, to a retail store accounting department, and finally a high school mathematics teacher. Haley resides with her husband and fur-baby in the Des Moines area. This Missouri-born girl enjoys the diversity the Midwest offers. So I don’t think this was super horrible but I didn’t think it was good either. It was a love triangle but the guys were friends and kinda spoke about which one of them could date her. The story moved really fast so at some points it seemed like info was missing.
OMG, I loved this book. It had me in tears throughout the book and fall in love with each of the characters over and over again. I am very excited to read more of Haley's books!!!!
I'm not even sure that this review will convey how much I truly LOVED this story, but I will give it a go. This was the first time that I read anything by the incredibly talented Haley Rhoades, and I'm stoked to read more by her immediately because I'm completely HOOKED! Ali went through something completely traumatic which had her dropping out of college, and leaving everything behind to run away from home & start all over again where no one knew her. She gets two jobs through a temp agency where she meets two good men that become her support systems, & who she fantasies about both. And that's all that I'm willing to give up. As much as I said about the men, the more important fact about the book was that Ali was able to heal from the traumatic event in her life which sent her running, that was so emotional, it had my eyes leaking. And those two men helped her walk through some of that pain, and not as potential boyfriends as they just wanted to support her, so they were both perfect. Which made for no OM drama when she had the option to choose, and for that, I was so happy & relieved that no hurt feelings ensued. And that entertaining cast of secondaries added more depth, & humor to this beautiful story, and I couldn't get enough of them either. In fact, there's not anything that I didn't love about Boxers or Briefs at all, and could go all day long, but I won't, instead I'll just HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
This is a stand-alone and another quick read. It's available in both Steamy and Sweet versions. The PG13 for those readers that prefer a sweeter romance.
I had a great reading Ali, Tyson and Clay’s storyline it grows as friendship between them that eventually has Ali falling for one of them. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout the pages.
I received a copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I received this book through a giveaway and I enjoyed it! I read it one day and it’s a sweet romance story with some steamy scenes. It’s a good beach or rainy day read.
