While this book is pretty badly out-of-date from a technological standpoint, it's actually got some interesting stuff about GPS use, navigation and general outdoors kind of stuff.

A good beginner book. So I skipped through a fair amount of this ~200pg paperback.
Mainly I found it useful for its clear explanation of UTM.
