Family Circle's famed craft series gives knitters and crocheters a colorful new collection of accessories to inspire and delight every taste. It's filled with unique projects for everything from leg warmers to neckties, plus hats, scarves, shawls, stoles, mittens, totes, and handbags. The instructions are simple, and so are the projects, with drawings and photos of each step, including the finished works. Their titles hint at the fun of making, and wearing, What a Mesh openwork scarf/wrap, Keep It Short chevron-striped capelet, Whiter Shade of Pale shawl, Life's a Beach drawstring pouch, Stripe It Rich straw tote, Going Loopy derby and mittens.
The title does not disappoint. The projects are easy, but they are also rated by skill. For the very easy shrug I made first, the rating is easy because there are no skills beyond knowing how to knit and purl involved. For other patterns, you need to know how to cable, how to do shaping, etc.
There are enough patterns in this volume to give you quite a bit of choice. I picked it up because I wanted a simple shrug pattern that made up quickly. I found that plus several other shrugs that exercise other skills.
Some are using discontinued yarn, cheap yarn, item looks great in a photo but would be a pain in RL (LOTS of very long tassels for example). A couple bags and wraps I’d be interested in.
