Hermann Zapf (8 November 1918 – 4 June 2015) was a German type designer and calligrapher who lived in Darmstadt, Germany. He was married to the calligrapher and typeface designer Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse. Typefaces he designed include Palatino, Optima, and Zapfino. He is considered one of the greatest type designers of all time.

Книга неплохая, но назвать ее суперинтересной или полезной язык не поворачивается. В основном это всякие рассуждения о типографике, включая авторское право и слишком много речи идет о фотонаборе. Я вот его не застал и понятия не имею как оно там и что. Начинающим дизайнерам читать еще рано, оценить смогут только те, кто понимает ;-) Около трети страниц (из плотной качественной недешевой бумаги) - это примеры работ Германа Цапфа (что-то вроде портфолио), опять-таки для эстетов, потому что надо очень увлекаться каллиграфией, чтобы оценить качество работ.
