I got sucked in and ended up finished in an afternoon.
I haven't read any of the previous books on the series. Did not need to.
This tale is a good stand alone.
Not a bunch of paranormal activity. Some romance. Some sex.
Mostly about the royal family, court and some intrigue.
This book in the series revolves around Maxen and Faelen.
Faelen is a royal cousin, Maxen is a merchant. After a fateful meeting
these two get all caught up the in each other.
This is a good read and entertaining.

When I started this book, it was directly after re-reading books 1-5 and I'm glad I did. I know it says it's a standalone, that people who left reviews s

This story tempted me from the beginning. I did read two previous books in the series and liked them, but this one had special attraction: it’s idea of two people who fall in love while having fundamentally different ideas about what they want from life. I wondered how they will come to their happy end. Either way, it promised to be enjoyable experience.

The story has a very slow development, as it’s mainly a sweet romance story set in a fantasy world. We have time to get to know both men, Faelen

I received this story thanks to Net Galley and nine-star press!
The Merchants Love is a fantastical story of Faelen and Maxen a royal and a merchant, their Love, family, and all the Magic that their world contains! I Loved the characters and the romance and the world! I loved almost everything about this book. and what I didn't i feel was mostly because this book is the sixth in a series and although it can and was in my case can be read as a stand-alone there was much I felt that I wasn't gettin

Another fabulous trip to Tournai! (I’d really like to live there.) This was such an absorbing read that I gobbled it up...much faster than it normally takes me to read a novel. Once again, I love the characters and the way their romance unfolds. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, this will make you want to go back and read them. (It felt like a lot of story lines came together in this book, and you’d appreciate it more if you read the prior books.) Great job, Toni!

I've read all the books in this series but have a terrible memory and didn't want to take the time to reread them so I can honestly say this reads very well as a standalone. I loved the characters and the story but wish there had been a little more adventure. I love the magical wall and want more about the attempts to penetrate it! Hurry up, time for the next one! ...more

This is the continuation of an adorable series that focuses around the royal family of a fairy tale kingdom. There is magic and dragons but above all there is heart. The characters are all family, either through blood or friendship. Because of that, every trial faced is through that of a collective front which is inspiring. As always, the romance is gentle and sweet, which really makes this series standout among fantasy books which are typically darker. I recommend this series to anyone that lik ...more
