Xavier Deneux studied at Beaux-Arts de Paris. He has worked as a graphic artist, creating posters and decorations for various industries, and has illustrated more than forty children's books. He lives and works in Paris, France.

It didn’t excite me a lot, but my baby loves it. The illustrations are cute and the 10 pages of sliding tabs help make it more interactive without being fragile for little hands like a pop up or lift a flap book. It will be hard to bring this back to the library!

This is a very clever board book that has sliders to make animals turn from black and white to having some color or a pattern.

As a 12 month old, I enjoy some lift-the-flap books, but I can easily be too exuberant and end up ripping the flap. This book doesn’t use pull tabs or have flaps, so it’s not likely for pieces to rip off.

Once my mom taught me how to move the slider, I could do most of the sliders by myself. I love it!

My mom wouldn’t rate it quite this high but I love it. Five stars!!!

Four puzzles featuring a cow, a pig, a rabbit, and a chicken are solved by pulling three different strips in different directions. The strips can be moved vertically in some cases and horizontally in other cases. Originally published in France, this board book should keep youngsters entertained as they try to replicate the animal on the left hand page with the puzzle pieces or come up with their own strangely different animal. This book promises to be great fun for very young readers since it is the perfect size for their hands.

The chicken sounds I made were too scary and the baby cried. BAWK BAWK BAWK.

Still, this is the book Ada was most enthusiastic about early on - black and white images that MOVE!
