The second Brenn saw Joey’s image in the magic mirror, he was hooked. The moment he saw him in real life, Brenn knew Joey was going to be his forever. Joey was flirty, and fun, and he had the most gorgeous smile, but then Joey told him he was dying. Though devastated, Brenn didn’t want to give up on Joey, so he offered to look after him and make his last few days as comfor ...more

Oh Yay!!! I've been waiting.....

Oh hell, I ignored my challenges and read this right now and OMG, my fucking eyeballs are sore! I think I leaked my way through the entire book. Ignored the fact that I needed to go to the grocery store...kept reading. It was sooooo great!! You know when you're reading a book and you think "please let this happen, and it does?!? It did, it totally happened!

This book asks a provocative question: What if you meet your one true love only to find out he's got a few weeks to live?

I liked Joey's spirit. He faced death with humor and a smile on his face. He didn't let his prognosis get him down for long. Brenn was very sweet with his determination to love Joey. Though heartbroken that Joey had limited time, Brenn was grateful for the time he had with him.

I was prepared for a tearjerker and lots of angst. Instead, the book got sidetracked by sex. Brenn
Chris, the Dalek King
From the moment Brenn saw the man’s reflection in the looking glass, he knew that it was the man he was destined to love forever. From the moment Brenn heard Joey’s laugh, from across the pub, he knew Joey was the man he wanted to love forever. All he has to do now is convince Joey of the same thing. It isn’t going to be too hard, though. They are meant for each other.

Except Joey isn’t the man Brenn thinks he is. Well…not for much longer. He is dying and he probably won’t even last another month

The day Brenn wandered into an obscure little antique shop and saw the image of his destined love in the magic mirror was the day everything changed. Brenn thought he was content with his life. He might have been a bit lonely, but he loved his job, enjoyed his family and believed that love would find him eventually. The man he saw in the mirror challenged all of those beliefs. He knew instinctively that they were meant to be together, but how to find him... and what to do once he did?

Brenn is drawn into the antique shop without knowing why. Told to look into the mirror, Brenn sees a beautiful man who he is told is his soul mate. When Brenn meets Joey he is happy to find his soul mate but devastated when he finds out he is ill. How could fate be so cruel to show him happiness and snatch it away. This is a highly emotional story that touches your soul and will have you railing at the fates. The sexual tension between the two characters is the main theme with lots of steamy sce ...more
Lois - Who Reads
I thought the first book in this series was fabulous and this book was good, but not as good. The premise of the book has an interest paranormal type twist with a “magic” mirror that shows you your true love. Brenn sees Joey in the mirror and when he sees Joey in a bar he feels an instant attraction. Joey is an interesting character with a mostly undefined fatal illness. That illness is where the books falls down a little, Joey’s explanation and his refusal of treatment don’t quite make sense. H ...more

Imagine knowing with absolute certainty that your life is going to be full and rich and with purpose. Imagine knowing that everything you do and say will be cherished and respected. Imagine then that you’re going to be able to spend that life with someone you love unconditionally. Imagine then, you find out he's dying.

WOW!!! After having some difficulties with the first book in this series I wasn't sure how this one would go or if I should even give it a chance - I knew I would though - I am so happy I did! Even though most of the story was gut wrenching it was such a beautiful love story. I loved everything about it, especially Brenn and Joey!

The one and only negative was that Brenn and Joey's story was over way to fast. I want more I'm not ready to give them up just yet.

I can't wait to read the ne

I so loved this book! I was on such an emotional roller coaster ride with this one. I had so many heart twinge moments and tears falling, that I am glad I was at home when I read it. It even had some hotty scenes as well :)

The emotions in this book ran so deep. The story line was off the charts and the dialogue between the characters was fantastic. The description to details were spot on and so easy to visualize. I couldn't help but fall in love with both of these men and wish their story could

Wonderful - a classic fairy tale with a modern setting... What if you find your 'happily' only to realize that the 'ever after' is slipping away? Brenn knows that Joey is The One, thanks to the magic mirror, but Joey is ready to give up on a life defined by a baffling illness, and the wishes of his doctors, family and friends. Brenn's determination to make every minute count is something Joey has almost forgotten, and he's not sure if he can reach for joy again without destroying his health and ...more

I instantly fell in love with Brenn and Joey. What an emotional story of finding your true love and how powerful that love is. This was a heart wrenching, rollercoaster ride filled with love, lust, romance, heartache, humor, some angst, and steamy intimacy with a little magic thrown in. I love a story that pulls on so many emotions and has me begging please, please, let this or that happen and what a wonderful ending Penny gives us. I went from tears to jumping up and down. I definitely recommen ...more

I enjoyed the first book in this series and I liked that this one was a bit different with how Brenn was totally on board when he saw Joey in the mirror rather than fight it. However, I felt like the story got derailed with so much sex, there wasn't all the emotion I wanted. This was a nice read though, I like the supernatural element to it, and I do look forward to the next book in the story. I hope that Simon will get a HEA too! He deserves it!

Oh Brenn and Joey, how I just loved you two. This was a very enjoyable book. I really loved how Brenn was determined to be there for Joey, no matter what the end result. And I loved Joey's train of thought, and his attitude towards his illness. Penny Brandon has become a favorite of mine. And I just love this series.

Brenn enters the antique shop, not knowing what has drawn him in. When he leaves he carries the image of the man he will love forever. Not questioning the truth of what the mirror showed him or his need to find the man. When he finds Joey he is ecstatic. Not realizing Joey is in a wheelchair and frail.

When Brenn discovers that Joey is dying he is devastated. For however much time the man he loves has left, Brenn is determined to make it the best possible life he can. He convinces Joey that he is

This is the second book in The Looking Glass series, and has a very different vibe than the first one. Brenn is shown his true love in the mirror and is quite accepting and willing to go out and find his true love.
He's in for a rude awakening though, when he discovers that Joey is terminally ill.

Joey is determined not to fall in love with Brenn, because that would make it even more difficult for him to stay accepting of his fate, and he also wants to protect Brenn's heart from hurt

This book took me completely by surprise. When I read the first book, Choices, I thought the series would be about hesitant men who fall in love with other men, but the moment Brenn sees Joey's image in the mirror, he accepts that Joey is his soulmate immediately. And when they meet, Brenn looks past Joey's obviously physical issues and falls in love with him.

The story is sweet, especially the lengths that Brenn will go through to keep Joey with him for all the time he has, but the ending is per

Brenn and Joey's story is both heartbreaking and hopeful, and I was a bit of a mess reading it. Brenn has no issue with the magic mirror in Simon's shop showing him his true love. He's actually excited about it and anxious to find the man whose image he is shown. Once he meets that man, Brenn is confused as much as he is enamored. Why would fate send him someone to love who only has a short time left to live?
I love these two men, who are stubborn and caring and want to protect each other from p

Spectacular addition to this series. It shattered my heart and emotions to pieces and then put me back together. Brenn and Joey have such a strong connection right from the start, but Joey is dying. I totally love Brenn, how he takes such good care of Joey and Joey's attitude and acceptance are incredible. But can the mirror really be so cruel as to give Brenn his one true love just to have him taken away so soon? You have to read the story and find out. It will take you on an emotional roller c ...more

This is the second book in The Looking Glass Series. A wonderful book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were developed and thought out. Brenn and Joey are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, a hospital, friends, lifeguard, poker player, antiques, nature, a hamburger, a wheelchair and more in this book. I can recommend as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book f ...more
Almost all the way through the book I was enjoying it more than the first in the series, Choices, but then it happened. (view spoiler) That made me incapable of really enjoying this book. But it seems like I was the odd reader out there.

i liked this one just a bit more then the first.. i love that it had different aspects that you don't always see in stories.. with someone not being all the way whole.. and a bit more broken then normal.. i loved the storyline and characters of course and the love was superb
While overall I liked this story, it lacked something that the first story in this series had. I think the focus so much on sex in this story took away from the rest of the relationship between Brenn and Joey. I would have liked more of them getting to know each other rather than Joey always pushing for more physically with Brenn.

Huh. Not much about this story made sense to me--fell way outside my range of believability.
Am I the only one who is stuck on Simon? I just feel for him, I mean even in the first book I felt like the happy ending was hampered because that poor man is just so depressing....

Bad sequel to a wonderful book :(

First couple of pages, Brenn sees his true love in the mirror. Then he meets him (just like that?) in a pub. Unfortunately for him, Joey is sick. He only has a couple of weeks more to live. What is his sickness? No one knows, he is just dying **eye-rolling**, same sickness that had his grandma. Brenn asks him to visit him at the hospital, Joey agrees. When Brenn visits him, Joey asks him to help him with his bath **eye-rolling**. Then we have sex in the shower **
