Exposure: An Epiphany Novel

Rate this book
Separate journeys brought together by fate…

Everything changed the day Emmy Blake discovered her longtime boyfriend in bed with another woman. That moment broke her, and now love was the last thing on her mind.

But the night she met Ian Walsh, a small piece of her was restored.

As refreshing as he was unexpected, his confidence and compassion created an undeniable magnetic pull that she was powerless to resist. In his arms, she found the one thing she’d always lacked: passion.

A lifetime of betrayal and a tragic past had scarred Ian both mentally and physically. Haunted by his own demons, he rejected his father’s ideals and forged his own path—alone.

Until Emmy stumbled into his life. Literally.

Meeting her was like waking from a dream. One night with her made him crave a life he never knew he wanted. It seemed life was hopeful once again. But when a jealous ex-lover returns with a vow to destroy everything--and everyone--in Ian’s life, truths are exposed.

Will the secrets of his past bring Ian and Emmy closer, or will it tear them apart?

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Emmy and Ian are my latest loves from this book!

Emmy and Ian have both been through difficult times, both unlucky in love, feeling something missing from love. Always afraid of giving love a chance.

And when fate throws them together, chemistry and romance are hard to deny between the two, giving them a second chance at love, and to just be themselves, free from their past issues.

But it isn't until the past catches up and reminds them to be strong to fight the bad.

Both Emmy and Ian were my favorites, being brave, bold, and strong and confident enough to fight against the past, love each other and forgive themselves for any past mistakes, or trauma they had to endure.

With heartwarming writing, emotionally captivating romance, characters well built to like and sympathise for, and a plot that makes you wish you had everything Ian and Emmy have, this novel is something that will surely stick with me for a long time.

Until the next read,

-TMR

Romance with a slice of family intrigue

“Love is one of those emotions you can’t control. It happens when it happens.”

Age Rating: NC-17
Age Rating Comments: Sex

If you enjoy spicy romance, true-to-life characters, and some family drama getting in the way, you will love this book. It embodies a well put together contemporary fiction novel with a heavy slant toward the Romance genre. I’m not a normal Romance reader, but once I dove into this novel, I found myself wanting to know what twists and turns Ian’s and Emmy’s relationship would take along with the turns that happened in their lives that threatened to tear them apart.

I have a feeling that Emmy will be the most identifiable character for many, but I found that Ian was the most troubled. He pulled me close to this story. It’s also nice to read a story where the main male character isn’t the bad-boy. He really is the good guy, Emmy’s hero, as well as mine in this novel.

In my opinion, this novel would best geared toward the adult–post college through mid-thirties. That’s the age level of the main characters, and the issues they face in the novel are likely geared toward that age group: young professionals, I’d call it. It was fun to see all the references to pop culture, and see the twists Ms. Dante put onto some well known quotes. I’ll leave those gems for you to discover though.

My primary reason for the 4/5 rating is that I believe there were some scenes that could be omitted in order to trim the plot to one or two specific drivers. Both characters bring baggage to the relationship, but it seems to get resolved rapidly, and they are on to the next stumbling block.
What I loved most about it was that everyone was so real, and it explored relationships both between the main characters and within their lives. All-in-all, it’s a quick and easy read with lots of modern culture, steam, and nice heart-felt relationships.

As always… Turn the page, a new adventure awaits!

Move over Christian and Anastasia, there's a new couple heating up the book world. Exposure is full of intriguing characters, tumultuous relationships, and steamy intimacy. I was captivated by the characters and their unique dynamics with friends and family. Pick up a copy and get lost in their stories.

Emmy walked in to her boyfriends apartment only to find him in bed with someone else, she was devastated and walked away from the relationship. Ian met Emmy in a night club and he could not keep his eyes of her as she was beautiful and there chemistry and connection was so strong that you could feel it coming off the pages of this book. There are twists and turns along with betrayal, deceit, secrets, danger, blackmail and many emotional situations and that is what makes this book a real page turner and totally addictive. Ember Dante is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and this is only the second book that i have read of hers but i look forward to reading many more. I definitively recommend that you read this book and you will definitively not be disappointed.

Emmy and Ian steam up at first bump. Family drama and past experiences have them both leary but attraction will prevail. My favorite passage:
"He disappeared into the bathroom, and when he returned, he pulled back the covers, urging me underneath. He followed, pulling me against him in a spooning position, his arm tightening around me as he placed a gentle kiss behind my ear. “Sleep now, gorgeous.”

Ember Dante is a new to me author angle I really enjoyed this book. Both MC, Ian and Emmy knew the sting of betrayal from different angles yet they still were able to find each other and love. Ian dealt with several different aspects of family life while Emmy dealt with her ex. They learned how to lean in each other and strengthen one another. The chemistry was really good between then as well! I am looking forward to reading more from Ember!

Ian and Emmy were sexy and sweet together, even as they faced trials and tribulations that jumped in their paths. Exposure brought out quite a few emotions in me as if I was going through that moment with them. Ember Dante was a new author to me and I wasn't disappointed.

Oh my gosh! This new to me author is most definitely, On My List! I cannot wait to devour more!

Ian absolutely stole my heart! Stole it!

Emmy is wary of relationships due to what her ex did! But what her ex did to her was nothing compared to what happened to Ian, OMG!

This was heart-wrenching in places, endearing, sweet, steamy, swoon-worthy in others!

This story absolutely satisfied this reader! If I could give this story more than 5 stars, I would!!! So Good!

I won this book from a contest on Facebook. I’m so impressed with this book! I just wanted to sit and read it all day. I really enjoyed the romance but it was so nice to have a story line in the book as well. I found myself thinking often, what are Ian and Emmy doing now?! I also loved the fact that the book was realistic! As it ended on a good note, it was also somewhat left open for us to see more of Emmy and Ian in the future, which I would love to have happen! I definitely recommend this book to everyone!

A great novel. The story between Emmy and Ian is captivating from beginning to end. Both characters are likeable and very well developed. Their attraction for each other is practically instantaneous and their first ''encounter'' is explosive. Emmy is afraid to embark on a relationship beyond a one night stand, afraid of being hurt again.. However fate throws them together again and fortunately Ian's determination and persistence ensures their continuity. There is quite a lot of intrigue in the form of Emmy's friend, her boss at the magazine and her ex-boyfriend along with a lot of unpleasantness and danger. There are plenty of bad memories in Ian's past yet they find strength in each other. Their deep attraction and affection is very well portrayed by the author. This book has it all. I can't recommend it highly enough. It is based on solid ideas and all the characters support the roles they play in the unfolding of the story. I can't really go into details about the plot but the storyline has a very strong content that is so often missing from romance novels. Both the pain and joy that the characters experience in the story co-exist with ease, resembling real life struggles and the happiness that makes them all bearable. Good editing enhances the experience.

I loved this book, and it’s my first read from this author and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Emmy, distraught after finding her man with another woman broke her to pieces and love is the last thing on her mind, that is until she meets Ian. He was nothing she was looking for and there he was, a breath of fresh air as you would say. Ian too had baggage, a past and secrets to keep. These two were magnetic together, a pull neither expected and as they move forward, Ian’s past comes back to haunt him in a way that could destroy everything he holds dear to him which includes Emmy. Can these two weather the storm that’s brewing or will they end before they get started? I guess you will need to read for yourself. Amazing read, so glad that I found this book on BookSprout.

Emotional, and Intriguing
This is my first time reading anything by this author, and I wasn't disappointed. This is the story of Ian, and Emmy, who meet one night by chance, and hit it off, and spend the night together. Emmy feel a strong connection to Ian, and Ian doesn't think a one night stand is all he wants. But not everyone is happy they are together, can these two make it? This book was emotional, passionate, steamy, intense, and a must read.

This was the story of Ian and Emmy who literally bumped into each other and their one night stand turned into much more. While I enjoyed the story of Emmy and Ian and their side plots kept the story interesting, the book seemed to drag on for me. The author was very descriptive while setting the scene and sharing the characters internal thoughts, but at times it was too much.

Betrayal and bitterness

Emmy and Ian have both been put through the wringer of life and neither really have plans to let anyone get close. Deceit and manipulation have been constant companions.
The couple and their friends are lovable and fun. Together they are a force. They are drawn together and are better for it. Their are a select few however that would rather see them ruined.

Betrayals, deception, cheating and so on are a few of the things that Ian-Emmy had in common, but most of all that they're disillusioned about love. Spicy, with well-thought characters.
