It’s a given on the ice planet, forced upon you by the parasitic symbiont called the ‘khui’. With resonance, a guy and a girl are paired up because they’ll make great babies. It’s a survival mechanism necessary for this sparsely-populated world we’re stranded on… and romantic, in a weird, alien way.

Everyone expects resonance to happen when twenty newcomers ar

Ashtar (what a cool name!) and Veronica

This is another book that I enjoyed very very much from this series. Actually this book may be considered a crossover with the Fireblood Dragon series.

The main character, Ashtar, is a dragoni. Unlike the fierce dragons in the Fireblood series that have conquered Earth, Ashtar is very reserved and not that crazy. He was stolen when he was 8 years old, his wings had been clipped and thus he cannot fly when he transforms into a dragon and the slavers made hi

I now understood Ruby's trick...Even though she writes about a couple at a time, she provides little bit about another you'd finish this and then start waiting for the next one, almost immediately...such a tease!

I loved this. I mean think about it, if you are struck on Ice Planet, what would you need? A dragon! of course.

This was fun and new! Because you have Cootie, resonance with Dragon mate stuff, fire, psychic mental link and healer thrown into mix. bit overwhelming but easy to

This book was so good. Whenever I read this series or the original I get swept right back into the world. I love how this author always finds ways to make these two series new and interesting and never old or tired. The hero was just what I was hoping for and more. It was so interesting to see how the healers work and think, I had never thought too much about it but in this book we really get to see how it all works and I thought it was really fascinating. I can't wait for the next book in this ...more

Yup, this series is still -

Ruby has really perfected this wonderfully creative world to absolute superbness. I know that I am always singing her praises but she juggles so many characters across this intertwined series that I am always left baffled by her talent. You can't tell me that it's not impressive! Now she brought a little Fireblood to the mix with Ashtar. *sighs dreamily*

Don't fret if you haven't dabbled into the Fireblood series, Ashtar may be a Drakoni but he definitely isn't wrapped

Cute as always!
We have a golden dragon here instead of a big blue barbarian! Yeah!
He's a little different than our usual hero in these stories. He's still all mate, but he's also very alpha and he has difficulties understanding why he need the tribe when he's big, strong and has his mate with him!!??
He's a little confused, but Veronica, very patiently, explain the why to him!
As I said, very cute!

I'm glad I gave the Icehome series a second chance. After a glorious DNF with the first book, I'm back (four hands were just too many for me).

I like Ruby Dixon's magic. It's perfect for this season. And it's amazing all year long. Her books aren't just about sex, even if there's insta-love (thanks to the cootie). The couple fools around quite a bit before the actual sex starts. I think it was after 80% with this novel.

So I need to get back on track with the cold planet.

It was certainly a joy ride.
I enjoyed it very much. Their first meeting and Ashtar’s arrogance & swag made me aww! The main characters balanced each other perfectly. They were very likable too. I also enjoyed the progress of New arrivals. What I didn’t like was the way author introduced secondary characters Willa and Gren. ( i think it’s their book next).
They stood out like thorn. I have also noticed that I almost never likes they way author portrays next book characters as result I have skippe

What an amazing story. I loved how Ruby Dixon took a Drakoni and placed him in the Ice Planet about getting your cake and eating it too :D

Veronica was always looked over and never stood out. Now she's the mate of a sexy dragon-man and she's got a pretty awesome "gift" as well.

Ruby never disappoints. Ever.

Taking place in line with Lauren's Barbarian, not necessarily having to be read in adjacent to it, this story started off with a total hoot. Because... Ashtar.

Immediately upon waking from his stasis, he smells humans. Not just any ol' humans. But unmated females. And I bet you can imagine what ensues from there.

More like Ashtar trying to flirt.

Yes, his attempt at seducing our dear Veronica is outstandingly hilarious and all so perfect. Totally in line with any other

I don't understand how over a thousand people gave this book 5 and 4 stars. the heroine sounds like a ditzy 14yo it's incredibly annoying. I listened to the audio and both male and female narrators (dare i say) made it worse. The female had the most annoying voice and was fond of overacting. The male had a very bad "female voice" when reading the heroine's lines. These are the kind of books that lead to reading slumps. ...more

I am in love with Ashtar. He is so adorable. Got to see some more familiar characters from Ice Plant Barbarians. Going to move into Willa and Gren's story. I'm curious about those two.

one huge problem

I liked this story of Ashtar and Veronica but we didn't get any drama at all and I think maybe the author is just over her head with too many series to give us any depth. She's rushed and always behind and it's showing in her writing. It's not that it's bad, it's just not up to her previous abilities any longer. I still firmly believe that separating these tribes is just stupid and just adds one more series that isn't necessary. These Icehome series should be IPBs. The author spe

I love Ruby Dixon's Ice Worlds! Veronica and her Dragon are a hot mess!

This one will make you giggle and laugh....and sigh..

I recommend this if you love a sweet love story....

Ruby Dixon is a wonderful storyteller!

I know that this series, Icehome, connects with the Ice Barbarian series along with the Corsair series, but now I am excited to find out that it is also within the world as her Fireblood Dragon series! I also curious as to the puzzle that the girls remember different years when they've been taken. But I'm sure Ms. Dixon already had it planned out how to explain this mystery. I can't wait to read more of her books to find out if there is an overall arc to all

Veronica and Ashtar's story

Ruby Dixon knows the key to my heart.

Three words:

Alien. Dragon. Gladiator.

It was glorious.

Could have been a good story but the over use of the words cunt and pussy turned me off. They are not sexy or hot just lazy descriptive words.

I am SMITTEN with the dragons, people. Smitten. I mean, I liked them from the Fireblood series, but Ashtar's clueless, flirty come-ons were HILARIOUS. And the fact he just didn't see a problem with announcing that he was wearing a loincloth specifically because he was told he had to before he could mate with Veronica just made it better.

Artless aliens announcing what was on their mind so they can get into a girl's panties are my thing, apparently.

Unfortunately for Ashtar, it takes Veronica a whi

I really liked Veronica though and loved how clumsy she was. Probably (read most definitely) would have driven me bonkers in real life but it was cute to read all the same.

I've only read two books by Ruby Dixon and unfortunately neither worked for me. I think in these types of books you have to love equally or just as much the females. I never seem to have a problem with the males but the females in the two stories I read were very annoying so I had no interest to read anything else from this author until Veronica's Dragon. After seeing so many awesome reviews I had to read it and Ashtar didn't disappoint, he was awesome. He was a wonderful mixture of sweet, innoc ...more

I really enjoyed this! I love a flirty, outrageous romance hero-- breaks up the brooding ones ;)
And I do love me a dragon shifter.

Favorite quote:

"I am told your people do not battle to show mating urges. This is true?"
Erm? He's giving me an intense look, and I realize he's utterly serious. "Battle? No. If we want to mate we show it in other ways. Nice ways."
"Nice ways?"
"Kissing. Flowers. Gifts. Things like that."
He looks intrigued. "Gifts. I can do those. Tell me who your enemies are and I will

Veronica + Ashtar

Super clumsy Veronica instantly has the attention of a Drakoni shifter Ashtar, who has been a gladiator slave since he was 8.

Lovvvve that we get a Drakoni in this series! Love what happens with Veronica (view spoiler) Ashtar stole the show in this book. It was fun learning what a Drakoni is and their mating rituals. Since Ash
Veronica's Dragon turned out to be truly amusing story about a dragon and a human. Ashtar was truly hilarious in his bluntness and possessiveness. I also appreciated that Ruby Dixon managed to create a perfect balance between our favorite khui and golden (or black) Drakoni eyes.
And as a cherry on top, we got more than just a peek into how the healing powers work. That was my second favorite part of the book.
"Shall we battle?"
It is always fun to return to Ruby Dixon's ice planet. Ashtar is officially on my favorite heroes list. Veronica was also pretty great. Only drawback for me was how much time was wasted on other characters (especially Willa and Gren... who I want to read about just in their book).

I am tempted to try Lauren's book but the hero has four arms. FOUR. Arms.
I enjoy this silly science fiction alien romance series and I am happy for the new arc in the plot with some new ladies and even gents.

I am a fan of dragon aliens and Plain Janes so I had a good time.

It dragged for me a bit in the middle but there some fun plot twists to keep this going.

It was nice to visit former couples but you don't have to have read the entire series to enjoy.

Such a cute story!!! I loved how occassionally awkward Ashtar was and how patient Veronica was with him. These two are so cute together. Also, I loved the fact they didn't mate until the last few scenes of the book. Such a delicious slow burn! ...more
