I loved the sound of this series and knew I had to read it. A scifi romance novel with gamer elements sounded exactly like the kind of book for me. And in a way it was and at the same it wasn't. This is going to be one of those confusing reviews about a book that I really liked at times and other parts didn't work for me at all. It just leaves me sad that the parts I liked less made me like the whole book as a whole less. I did enjoy it enough and am curious about the other characters stories th ...more

Mercedes loves fixing cars with her father and their employees in her family shop, but even she needs a little bit of downtime with friends. She spends most of her free time in an MMO with her guildmates, and they go on crazy adventures together. One of her closest friends is her guildmate Takashi. Mercedes wants to give up on love, as the 7 dates she’s had in the past 5 months have ended after the first date, stood her up, or flat-out admitted that they don’t date people with cybernetic. ** I voluntarily reviewed Spellbinding His Ranger after receiving a free copy. This is my complete and honest opinion. **

Spellbinding His Ranger is a solid 5-star book!

Think, Cinder meets Ready Player One meets softcore erotica and you get Spellbinding His Ranger.

Mercedes is a grease-head, nerd. You can almost always find her one of two places... her father's car shop or online in a role-playing game. Mercedes has all but given up on love and pre

A beautifully developed LitRPG, Spellbinding His Ranger is everything you didn’t know you needed. It is a novel headed by a strong female lead, accompanied by an eclectic cast of secondary characters, with a romance with real chemistry, and enough culture references to please any nerd.

First and foremost, Mercedes is a powerful female lead. It is difficult not to like her. Not only is she intelligent, independent, and loving, she is flawed. To some, she would be considered disabled with her bioni

When I first saw Shannon Pemrick’s Spellbinding His Ranger (Looking For Group, Book 1) I got all excited because (a) I’ve read other books by this author so I knew the quality would be top-notch (just try the addictively wonderful Experimental Heart series and you’ll see what I mean) and (b) the tagline “A Sci-Fi Gamer Friends-to-Lovers Romance” was particularly appealing as I’m a gamer and thought this would be a fun LitRPG novel. Well, I was almost totally wrong about the latter as this is not ...more

I had high expectations for this book, but of course it didn't meet my expectations. The story started out good, but I got frustrated because I was 50% percent or more into the book before the couple's romantic relationship got started. Then the author created a scenario that caused the couple to be apart; more frustration. For this story to take place in the future, and with the advance technology they had, I wonder why they could not figure out who the enemy was more quickly than

Spellbinding His Ranger is a fantastic futuristic sci-fi romance revolving around a gaming community. Im not into the sci-fi genre and into gaming so i was a bit sceptical about reading this book as i was worried that i wouldnt be able to relate to the story or the gaming terminology ......but surprise, surprise!! I enjoyed the story found it well written, loved the characters, loved the authors vision of the future and the technology portrayed.
Im looking forward to reading more from Shannon Pem

Mercedes lives to restore cars and VR gaming. After a terrible accident leaves her with a prosthetic arm and several douche bag dates who are too immature, her self worth is at an all time low. Takashi is her gaming buddy and friend who wants more. Much drama and excitement ensues in this awesome story. All of the characters are engaging and hilarious. The plot sucked me in from the beginning and I can't wait to see what in the world comes next!!

I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.

This is not my usual read. However, the lifestyle of Mercedes drew me in and I found it was nice to read about an average/normal person and her adventures and romance. I found it to be a most enjoyable read.

An unusual story where on-line gaming seems to be an acceptable reality.

This book took me by surprise and I could not put it down!

The future is all about cybernetics and VMMORPG through a virtual game that feels like real life. Mercedes is all about cars and gaming but her love life is a disaster. Takashi’s life is his auction business set in the gaming world but also his best friend Mercedes! When he realises she means more to him than just friends, will he be able to convince her to give him a chance?

This is a story about love and hardship! I was gripped by this n

Shannon Pemrick, for as long as she can remember, has always been in love with dragons, although she never liked the constant portrayal of dragons being inherently evil. In a quest to find more diverse characterizations of dragons, Shannon found her passion for reading Romance, Fantasy, and Science Fiction.
