This story had surprises galore and really went in a direction I hadnt expected. Jinn is kind of a loner and refuses to take sides in the world that warring humans and paranormals have created. He still mourns Nitara, his wife and lives everyday remembering the life they shared before they were cursed . His reality is shattered when Mike, an old friend shows up with a photo that shows a woman in a cage who bares a striking resemblance to Nitara . Its time for Jinn to go hunting and woe betide ...more

This is a good beginning to the series. It's great to have a diverse character as the hero and this cover captures Jinn beautifully. The story is solid and the characters well-developed. The ending had me pre-ordering Nitara, book 2 in the series.

Move Over I Dream of Jeannie.....

Did you ever wonder how the DJinn came to be and how they got into the bottle? Well read this awesome new series and find out!

After living for centuries out of his bottle because of a wish from a true friend, but feeling the loss of all he holds dear, Jinn discovers that his wife thought dead centuries ago is alive and being held captive by the very evil that trapped him centuries ago. Jinn is very powerful, the most powerful of the supernatural, but needs help

Cursed into a life of servitude of anyone who held the magical lamp he was confined to, Jinn eventual finds his freedom. Without the love of his life beside him, he turns inwards and isolates himself from the world. But even immortals need company. When Jinn learns that the love of his life may still be alive, he will stop at nothing to find her, even if that means involving himself in a looming war.

I enjoyed this story and will continue on with the sequels.

This book should be exactly what I am looking for, UF, supernaturals, djinn, and a black main character, written by a black author. BUT...
The story is good, the characters are interesting, but the book suffers from stilted writing and a few instances of improper word usage.

I listened to this on audio, (yay! Black narrator for the black MC!) and at first was confused as to whether my problem was the narration or the writing, but I think it was definitely the writing, which made it a difficult

The strongest about to be challenged in this rousing and magical new series. The story is full of wonderfully strong, bold characters that make readers sit up and take notice and each of them have their own quirks in this story which makes them quite entertaining. The first books main hero is Jinn who has been cursed and has interest in pick a side in the battles and wars being fought between the all the magical creatures who now rule the land until an old friend presents him with an offer he ...more

I usually apply what I call my Dresden test to this kind of book, looking to see how the lead character stacks up against Jim Butlers Harry Dresden. Well, Jinn, the star of Jessica Cages Jinn (The Immortalem Series Book 1), more than satisfied that test. I love the post-apocalyptic setting, the quest to find Jinns wife, the deal that is struck. Pretty much the whole thing. Strong writing, great characters, strong plot and the start of a great story arc. Yup, passes any test I can think of. But ...more

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Well, that was not what I expected! I really cant wait for the sequel to Jinn! The story moved along a little on the slow side for me at first but I think it was needed for world building and to really get a good grasp of what kind of person Jinn really is, supernaturally and his human nature. But after it picked up, there was no way I could put this down. I WAS STUCK! As you read from the synopsis Jinn has stayed neutral in the war but

Wow! This book was great. This book started off slow for me but it picked up pretty fast. Once it did it was on and popping. I love paranormal reads. I'm a really big fan of it. I like this book because all the different species came together to defeat the evil. I felt bad for Jinn when he realize that his wife wasn't gonna stay with him after everything he did to rescue her. I was hoping he got his happy ending. I'll have to wait for the next book to see if he will get his happy

First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.

This story is Gr8. Jinn is a djinn living in a futuristic world that is ruled by magic after a world war. There are two strong factions of magic users, witches & fae, and Jinn is a neutral. I am a very picky reader however this book is a must-read as well as all the other books in this series I really love this story of love and what you will do for the person that you love specially if it's your true love Jinn went through it all for his love that he thought was dead sorry if this is a spoiler alert but I liked this book and I didn't think I would but it was a damn good but message Jessica cage as I've said many times before you did your thing I'm wondering are you going to do any ...more

This just turned out not to be something I want to read. I love that Jinn is a black man and, though he could change his appearance, he doesn't. He likes himself. This is actually why I bought the book. But Jinn is also Aladdin's djinn. I'm not into fairytell retelling and/or spin offs. Plus, even in 20%, I've come across some questionable editing and choppy POV shifts/writing. So, I'm just going to stop now. No rating though, since I'm mostly stopping just because it's not my thing,

A interesting book. I thought the world described was almost believable and made a great place for the story to be told. It took the basic story of Jinn finding out the love of his life was still alive and a prisoner. The story is then about him trying to find and rescue her. Loved the mix of characters, creatures, and "human" nature revealed by all. Just an entertaining story to get lost in. Full of battles, secrets and trying to save the world, I really liked it. Cannot wait to see what ...more

Where do I start?! After suffering as little more than a tool for centuries, Jinn is finally wished free from his life in servitude. What should have been a dream come true turns into anything but as every being and creature hidden from the human world begins a war for complete control, Jinn's life becomes one of nearly complete solitude... until he finds out his dead wife may not be dead after all.

Jinn is the 1st book in Ms. Cage's new Immortalem Series . I really liked it. I liked how she took her time to develop the characters and their world, not rushing it through. This way it's well defined and crafted and I fell in love with the story! There's plenty of action, adventure, twists and turns, and a great blend of characters that come together to make this a wonderful book. I'm ready for the 2nd one!

A story of one man's quest to find and free his wife (the love of his very long life). Jessica Cage has created a believable world (patterned after ours but just different enough to be fresh) with supernatural creatures. As you continue to read, you become very involved in the story line. Will be very interesting to see where this series goes as there is a whopper of a cliff hanger.

Great Read

Such a vivid world that was created in part one of this series, Jinn is tough one to deal with , but his love for his wife is undeniable. Each character is so unique and each character history is well written ....on to part two

This is a really great story. It takes a little bit for it to pick up but you need that time to really get a feel for the situation. I loved the characters and I felt very invested in the story. I can't wait to see what is next for the characters.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Well it is not what I expected. It is interesting, exciting, there is danger, and death too. There is a nasty cliffhanger at the end. But I can see why it is left off were it is. Good story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.

Omg , where is the rest. I thought its was going to be happy ending or is it. I dont think Jinn would do all that to loose his woman to someone she was locked up with. This first series is fire I cant wait to read more about Jinn and his friends. #KNL

The first book should have been free, as it is setting up the characters and the world. It was not a romance book. They did not get together until the last one 6 minutes of the book. BIG disappointment.

Fun and fast paced. I enjoyed this new world full of different supernatural creatures. The story moved fast and captured my attention from the beginning. I enjoyed the different characters as well.
I cant wait to see what happens next! Didnt expect that ending!
