Sweet-Loving Cowboy is book two in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy. I loved the first book in this series so much and have been waiting not so patiently for this book. I knew I was going to love Chase and it turns out I was oh so right!

Chase, Nash and Shep Blackshaw recently lost their father who ran their ranch and Blackshaw Cattle. Only, unbeknownst to them, he left the company in debt when he died. So it was left up to the three of them to save the ranch so their mother wouldn’t lose her home. They decided to make the ranch a guest ranch where visitors can come to live like an authentic cowboy. Chase, the middle child of the three boys, had been saving for years to start his own construction company, only things got put on hold while he helped on the ranch. Building the new guest cabins will be his first official job as Blackshaw Construction. If he can do a good job, it could be the launch his company needs.

Cowboy

Chase has never felt a connection strong enough to get serious with any woman. Nine months ago, his best friend, Brody McKinney’s little sister came home from culinary school. Chase always thought of her as Brody’s little annoying sister. But she wasn’t so little anymore. She was twenty-seven years old and he was instantly attracted to her. He didn’t do anything about it but it was an attraction that steadily grew. She was working at the local bar, Kinky Spurs, and for the last three months, Chase would go in every evening after work and she would cook dinner for him. All this time, Chase never made any move but it was evident that she felt the chemistry between them just as strongly as he did.

Harper McKinney had always wanted to be a chef. But when she was younger, her dreams were stolen from her when her parents died tragically. Her brother Brody raised her. Now, after culinary school, her dreams are again within her grasp. She has an offer to go to Las Vegas to work under a dream mentor. Then she wants to open her own restaurant. As soon as she came home to River Rock, and saw Chase Blackshaw again, though, she knew there was something there. So, she put everything on hold to see if it led anywhere. But he never made a move. She knew he wanted her. But she was afraid she would always be Brody’s little sister to him which was out of bounds. Was she wasting her time waiting? Should she just go to Las Vegas and pursue her dream there?

“He craved her, as much as she did him. Sadly, she knew Chase was a dream she had to stop pursuing.”

chocolate lab puppy

Chase was raised to always be honorable, to put others first. He knows that Harper has a dream of going to Vegas. He doesn’t want her to have to choose between him and her dreams. But when he realizes that she has already bought her plane ticket and is leaving in eight days, he decides he can’t let her go without at least giving them the chance to experience each other during these last eight days. Then he will let her go.

“How are you so strong and yet so full of heart? I’ve never met anyone like you.”

kisses

These eight days were supposed to be all about Harper. But everything all but imploded during that time. First, Harper finds a puppy that has been abandoned and Chase finds himself taking care of a special needs lab puppy. He failed the inspection on the guest cabins. This is supposed to be his ticket to get his business off the ground. What will happen when word gets out that he failed the inspection? His feelings for Harper are growing every day. He knows he has to let her go when their time is up but he’s finding it harder and harder to imagine his life without her in it.

“Chase’s honesty was love. His respect for her was love. His wanting her to be happy was love. His heated touch was love.”

I loved this book. Chase and Harper’s chemistry was off the charts. Chase liked a bit of kinky play and Harper was all for it. But as I said before, Chase is also an honest and honorable man. There’s no way I couldn’t fall in love with him. Especially the way he cared for the little puppy. This is such a fantastic series and I can’t wait for the next book which will be Nash and Megan’s story in Hard-Riding Cowboy.

“Happiness isn’t what you do, it’s who you’re with when you do it.”

3.5 - "Eight days… That’s what we’ve got." Stars.

The second book in the Kinky Spurs series sees the passion between middle Blackshaw brother; Chase ignite with his best friends little sister Harper.

"Do you want to play..?"

Someone he has repeatedly been warned to stay away from, but she’s leaving town to pursue her dreams of cooking for the great and good in Las Vegas, so all bets are off, for a week of farewell passion.

"This is sex and fun… not love and forever."

But things go from non-committal fun, too hot, heavy, deep and meaningful pretty much from the first kiss they share, and what was initially agreed upon as a no-strings fling morphs into so much more for them both.

"Ever feel like you’re right where you’re supposed to be..?"

"…I feel like that every time I am with you."

Low drama, plenty of sex, Chase similarly to his brother Shep likes a bit of kink when the mood takes him, we have the addition of rescue animals into the story-line which is always a winner with me, and the tiny amount of strife involved in the plot was easy to pinpoint the relevant person straight off the bat.

"There has never been a single doubt in my mind that the second we crossed that line and let ourselves feel, there was no going back."

I found the second half more appealing, in regards to pace, and I liked that the frenemies relationship between youngest Blackshaw; Nash, and Kinky Spurs mainstay Megan was fleshed out a bit further in preparation for their book; Hard-Riding Cowboy, which is due for release early 2019.

Sexy, hot and oh so sweet.
Sweet-Loving Cowboy is book two in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy and these Blackshaw cowboy brothers certainly know their way to a woman's heart.

The sexual chemistry between Harper and Chase was sizzling and the storyline was really good as well. Throw in an abandoned special needs puppy that Harper rescues and Chase finds himself taking care of and you literally have me melting (always a sucker for animals in need) ...…..

Actually, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for the first book in this series. I loved it so much and have been over-eagerly awaiting for an opportunity to read this second book. I am glad to announce that it didn't disappoint at all.

Harper has always had big Vegas dreams and a plan to get her there. However, when she returns home and sees her brother’s best friend Chase again for the first time in years, she revises her plan to allow the possibility of testing the waters with him. Unfortunately, Chase is aware of her dreams and refuses to be the reason she doesn’t fulfill them. But when the clock begins to tick down, they make the decision to explore the chemistry that is a living breathing thing between them.

This was a very charming story that had a lot more depth to it than what I anticipated. While the “brother’s best friend” trope is in effect, it’s not in regards to Chase’s past decisions of his relationships with women. Harper’s brother has seen life steal everything away from her and now that it’s right within her grasp he is determined that she attain it. While Harper enjoys her time with Chase, she begins to question the origins of her dream life and what she discovers is really the heart of what this story is about. I was especially pleased by the process that she went through to get to her final decision.

This is a relatively quick book with a ton of heat and yes, even some kinkiness as well as incredible characters that added to the overall enjoyment of the story. The hero and heroine are both extremely likable and while Chase is a total alpha male, he’s also sweet and kind and wants what Harper wants, even if it ends up breaking his heart. Harper was smart and strong and even when she realized she had strong feelings for Chase, she didn’t allow that to deter her from her plans. I actually respected her all the more for not allowing her feelings for a man to sway her.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable read containing more heart and soul than the title, cover and blurb lead you to expect.

This had all the sweet elements I love in a romance. It was funny, charming, heated and safe. As the MCs, Chase and Harper were easy to like and their story was more a slow burn than I was expecting, especially since they have amazing tension vibrating between them all the time, lol! The chemistry was hot, the emotional pull was present and the author added her own twist to the little sister & brother's best friend trope.

Chase has been best friends with Brody since they were kids, so Harper has always been a part of his memories growing up. But she was always just Brody's little sister, until she comes back from school and suddenly the instant connection between them is unmistakable. But when Brody asks Chase to wait before persueing her, giving her time to figure out what she wants to do without any romantic entanglements, Chase knows it's the right move even if it means letting her go and never exploring what he feels for her.

Harper has been waiting for Chase to act on their mutual attraction but it's been months now and still nothing. Figuring that whatever is brewing between them, is still not enough to tempt him, Harper makes plans to take a lucatrive internship in Las Vegas and move away. With only 8 days before her departure, she and Chase finally give in to a no regrets week before they say good-bye.

With her choice made and nothing to hold her back, Chase and Harper figure this is their last chance to indulging in each other with no regrets or what-ifs hanging over them. Except a lot happens in 8 days and their choices become more complicated and painful than either thought.

Personally, I loved that fact that Brody doesn't object to Chase seeing Harper because of the usual double standards in this type of trope. He warns Chase off because he doesn't want anything (or anyone) to stand in the way of Harper's dream to move to Las Vegas and start her culinary career. He never questions Chase's honor or integrity. He knows that Chase is a good man and that he would never intentionally harm his sister. His protectiveness was both for his friend and his sister and I thought that was refreshing.

I also loved that Chase and Harper are friends first and then they become lovers. Their relationship was so comfortable, they didn't have recriminations, past hurts or misunderstandings between them. They always talked things through and they were just really sweet together. Chase was the ultimate gentleman and Harper was a smart and likable character.

This author knows how to turn up the heat in her books but I felt this one was toned down just a smidge. Still sexy but needed that extra push to make it really take off (at least for this reader!)

Can't wait for the final book about Megan and Nash. The love/hate between them seems to ramp up their sexual tension with each encounter and I'm dying to get my hands on their story!

Would I recommend? Yes. The Blackshaw brothers are pretty awesome :)

Chase is just as yummy as his brother. We all know a week was going to never be enough even though that week was HAWT! He was willing to let Harper go follow her dreams. She was willing to stay and fight for both of them.

Can't wait for the third brother to fall for his enemy...and you know he is.

Love this series. Kinky Spurs in the local bar cold beer, good food and cowboys. Harper McKinney has been home from culinary school in Denver for 9 months. She's been working at Kinky Spurs which her friend Megan owns and is set to take off to Las Vegas to pursue her dream as a chef. For right now, she's slinging brews and crushing on Chase Blackshaw. Now is a good time to say if you haven't read book one, you'll be glad you did. Gives you a great backstory on the 3 brothers. After pulling the family ranch out of disaster they're well on their way to the grand opening of a working guest ranch. Cabins are done, courtesy of Chase who has his own construction business and is just starting out. This project is important to him in so many ways. He's best friends with Brody, Harper's brother and has sworn some sort of man pledge not to interfere with Harper's "dream" plan which is to go to LV and open her own restaurant. Brody is OTT overprotective, obnoxiously so and got on my nerves a couple times. It's obvious that Chase and Harper are interested in each other and finally at the 3 month mark, Harper starts pouring it on. Chase just picked up the ball recently, only after promising his left kidney to Brody he would not stop Harper from leaving. Harper and Chase were really a great couple. I loved them. Add to this is a sweet little puppy they rescued. Chase was an over thinker and Harper is a little more light. They make each other happy and burn down the house in the bedroom. Or wherever the mood hits them. There's a lot going on in this story, Chase can't get the cabins to pass inspection which has him flat on his face. Nash is Nash and still busting Megan's chops when he can. Emma and Shep are happy and everyone is working hard to get the new ranch off the ground. With yet another failure to pass inspection and Harper's impending departure Chase is all sixes and sevens. But the man has focus. The time Harper spends with Chase brings her to a crossroads about her decision to leave and has her rethinking her life. Brody has made some changes in his life as well. Brody is prickly. That's all I'm going to say. Several criss crosses in the storyline with everything that is going on but it all flows so well, no worries there.
This book has a great story line and the characters I love. I can't wait for Nash's book. He's the youngest of the 3 and home to help on the ranch. He's got a thing for bar owner Megan. Can't wait to see those two spar.
Great story Stacey! Loved it.

Would be chef Harper McKinney is biding her time in her hometown until the right opportunity comes along. In the meantime, she is bartending at local bar Kinky Spurs, and being watched by her overprotective brother. And one of the things that she has kept secret is her love for his best friend Chase Blackshaw. Chase has finally realized his dream and opened his own construction company. His first project is to get the families cattle ranch ready to open as a guest ranch. Then Hannah lands a dream opportunity, a chance to apprentice with a celebrity chef in Las Vegas. But before she leaves she wants to experience a wild fling with Chase. Kennedy writes such great characters that you feel as if you are in the story right along with them. I really loved this book and cannot wait to read more from Kennedy.

Blackshaw Cowboys know how to win a heart. Chase sets out to win his best friend's kid sister. Harper McKinney has a dream to open a restaurant in Las Vegas and not stay in her hometown. Chase's father's passing has left the family in debt and in danger of loosing their ranch. Kinky Spurs is a bar that pairs food, drink, and wild roping entertainment. As her in between job after graduation from college; Harper works the bar at Kinky Spurs while fitting in longing looks with Chase. This is the second in the Kinky Spurs series and can be read as a stand alone but why miss the romance the Blackshaw brothers create. I ended up liking this one more than I expected to. I'm not the biggest fan of the brothers best friend trope because almost always the hero won't go after the heroine because of the brother. I'm not really a fan of a man stepping back. I like to see the hero go after what he wants and it seems Harper feels the same way. She wants a man willing to stand up to her brother.

While Chase did wait to pursue at first, it wasn't because of the brother. He waited for reasons that meant he was looking out for Harper and that endeared me to Chase in a big way. This had total angstfest written all over it, but instead we got to see Chase step up and never faltering even if their relationship had the potential of being short lived. I liked that. We got to see these two be together with no pushing away.

So far this one is my favorite of the series. Of course when you throw in an adorable puppy into the storyline, it makes it that much better. Nash's story is up next and the sparks have been flying since book one. I can't wait to see what is going to make these two finally give in. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Such a Sweet-Loving, Hot Cowboy.

I just love all of the Blackshaw men and how their women always bring them to their knees. Chase was no exception.

Harper has been waiting for him to make his move since she returned home from Denver, but she is tired of waiting and is going to take matters into her own hands. All it takes is a sick dog to show Chase just what’s the most important thing in his life.

I can’t wait for the next book, which belongs to Nash and Megan. I can’t wait to see Megan bring Nash to his knees.

This was so incredibly sweet and sexy. I had a lot of fun reading it and thought it was really entertaining. The Blackshaw brothers totally do it for me!

I thought Chase and Harper were great and I loved their attraction. I loved their growing feelings and their electric chemistry. I enjoyed watching Harper work through her struggles and figure out what she wants to do in life and how Chase was there for her. Chase was a total sweetheart and made me melt. He had his own dilemmas happening and I felt for him but loved that he could find comfort in Harper. Together they were super sexy. There was a whole lot of sweet happening but there was a nice mix of emotion as well. I thought it had a nice balance.

I enjoyed the secondary characters. The Blackshaw brothers are their own brand of charming. I liked the male bonding moments immensely, I'm a sucker for that. I also loved Harper’s relationship with her brother. I thought that was really sweet. There were a lot of great moments throughout that had me smiling.

I loved the story and details and thought there was good character development. I really liked that there were a few other stories woven in and thought it all worked together well. This was just sweet and fun, full of goodness and made me happy to read. There's a nice bit of light drama mixed into their growing relationship that kept things lively and moving along.

This was just a great solid read with likable characters that made me smile. It was an excellent friends to lovers story. They were just so genuine, sweet, and sexy, and I really enjoyed it.

This was a first read from Stacey Kennedy and I am already looking forward to the next book.

This story was a brothers best friend to lover story. Chase was the epitome of well behaved, he had given his word to leave Harper alone....until he found out she was leaving in a week. The fireworks that had been building exploded. There were hot times, there were times I wanted to strangle both characters, and finally I got my HEA! Do I recommend? Yep! Will I read the next one? Can’t wait to see what happens in Nash and Megan’s book.

[I received a digital ARC from Netgalley for an honest review]

Sweet Loving Cowboy is the second book in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy. This can definitely be read as a standalone without feeling like you're missing anything.

I enjoyed this book more than the first one. The characters personalities worked well and fit in the story. Chase is kinky in the bedroom and it totally fits him. While in his day to day he is always the perfect gentleman, putting others before him self and making sure everyone gets their dreams, when it comes to behind doors he is dominant and takes what he wants/needs. It was hot and Harper went along with it smoothly and anticipated when he got that gleam in his eye.

The story worked well for me because it was believable, which is one of the reason I find myself really enjoying siblings best friend romances. Chase and Harper already knew each other and had a connection when the book starts. We got to experience all the sexual tension at its tipping point and it was perfection.

I am really looking forward to the next book in the series and having my fingers crossed it's a certain head butting pair

"This intense need and hunger drove him equally as crazy. He could only imagine how sweet those lips tasted."

Life, and the choices we make, move whether we want them to or not. The things we want, the things that seem important, change and evolve as the things we encounter change and evolve.

I loved that this title addressed this, and that it allowed life to change around the characters of Chase and Harper.

Chase and Harper have chemistry...and very different paths for their lives. Chase has built his dream in their small town, and Harper has life plans that take her out of Colorado to Las Vegas. Add in a promise not to take her dreams from her, and a short term week-long relationship before she leaves (that, of course, won't complicate anything) and you have an interesting and enjoyable story about 2 people who are taking a chance on something life handed them, that they think is going to be temporary.

And, then they have to deal with it when they find out that maybe it's not temporary. And, that maybe neither of them want it to be. In a lot of ways, dealing with the changing of their dreams, and the new things they want, is even harder than dealing with the idea that their time together is limited.

The emotions in this book, the pull of the things you think you want vs. the things that appear in life and change your perception, were interesting and I was engaged the entire time.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series, and follows the fortunes of Chase Blackshaw. I would recommend that you read book 1 first as it sets up the background story to the Blackshaw brothers and their mission to save the family ranch.

Chase is following his dream of starting his own construction company by building the new ranch guest buildings. But everything comes to a halt when the inspector fails certain elements. As the issues are incredibly petty, it seems difficult to believe that this is a genuine inspection, and the Blackshaws seek to find out why it has happened. This stirs up a number of issues which we learned about in the first book, but with some unexpected results.

In the meantime Harper is also finally accepting that she needs to chase her dream of a restaurant in Vegas, as Chase does not seem prepared to make a move. Little does she know that he is respecting his best friend, her brother, Brody's wishes. Once a deadline is set though, all bets are off and Chase makes his move. I both liked their final acceptance of the heat between them, but also that Harper got to think about why Vegas was important to her and what leaving really meant.

Houdini also deserves a special mention in this review as he was both sweet, fun and utterly perfect as a fur grandbaby!

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

Hold your horses ya'll!! It was only suppose to last for one week. Nothing in Harper's plans included a hot fling with a drop dead sexy cowboy. Because the heat between Harper and Chase will not be denied.

Harper McKinney left River Rock seeking to achieve her culinary dream. Now, years later she is back in River Rock working at Kinky Spurs until she leaves for Las Vegas for her dream internship with a well know chef. Chase Blackshaw notices Harper is all grown up. As the little sister of his bestfriend, she is off-limits.

If you like cowboy romances, you won't go wrong with a Kinky Spurs book. Sweet Loving Cowboy has it all - friends, family, romance....and an adorable dog. It's spicy with tons of heat yet sweet at the same time. Its a romance about discovering where you truly belong.

Mile High Kink Book Club recommends this book for your carryon.

Sweet-Loving Cowboy is amazing. Best friends sister equals off limits. Falling for best friends sister shouldn't happen especially since it could squash big dreams. Finding out that you can get the green light to see where it goes as long as you don't get in the way of her dreams is a no brainer right? Little did Chase know that when he took Harper for himself finally is that he never wanted to let her go. Harper is a culinary wizard made for bigger then a small town. She has crushed on Chase as long as she can remember. Chase is that sweet cowboy who is helping turn the family ranch into more. He also has this really naughty side and waiting for Harper to show him she's interested. Once these two hook up there is no turning back or denying what is between them. And wait until you meet Houdini. I loved this book and I'm looking forward to more in the Kinky Spurs series.

Oh my goodness! This is one sweet, hot, dirty-talking, alpha, kinky when he wants to be, and all around too good to be true (and for his own sake) cowboy who has finally stopped waiting for what (or should I say who) he wants. Did he really think only a week would ever be enough and he would be able to let her go? Harper has waited for 9 months for Chase to make his move since she came back to town and now she has a week left before she is moving to Vegas and all bets are off. Even her brother cannot keep them apart. Add in an abandoned puppy and watch everything twist and turn. This was one wild ride watching them come to grips but was so much fun. When these cowboys fall, they fall hard! I cannot wait to see Nash get his come to Jesus moment in the next installment! Definitely a recommendation from me!

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is the second story in this series. You do not need to read book one to understand book two, but it was a cute read.

Harper is back and loves living near friends and family. Her dreams are big and she is still wanting to follow them, but the lure of love is a big one and she's not sure if she wants to compromise. While she is waiting to see if her love life will pick up, she makes sure that her friends are happy and that she is still cooking up a storm. She also has some guilt over what her brother gave up in order to help her after their parents died. She just wants him to be happy without feeling any obligation.

Chase is working his tail off to get the ranch open for business. He wants his work to showcase the new facility and it's his passion to do work that is worthwhile. He knows that Harper should be off limits and he allowed Brody, Harper's brother to dictate a little of their pathway, but once he realizes that Harper is going to follow her dreams, he will take the last few days with her to make his dreams a realization. Chase has loved Harper from afar and it's now time to love her up close.

These two characters have a lot of history and it helps with their dynamic a lot. With Chase's business venture having some difficulty, Harper will enlist her own prowess and figure out a way through. Chase also doesn't want to inhibit Harper's dreams either, but letting her go is proving harder than he thought.

Both of these people have to decide if dreams are worth the risk - personally and professionally. It was a sweet story and I enjoyed it.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Harper and Chase's relationship took a long time to get started and when then they began, they agreed it would only be for eight days. Then Harper was to follow her dreams by going to Las Vegas and study under one of the best chef's in the city.

Chase wants her to follow her dreams and see her succeed even it means that means he has to give his dream - which is love Harper.

As their time runs out, Harper begins to think harder and harder about what exactly is her dream.

I enjoyed the the way that Harper faced the music with her brother and finally decided to live her dream and not anyone else's.

The story was greatly written, the plot was an amazing mix between sweet love and steaming hot scenes.

Have you ever loved someone so much, that you would sacrifice your love for the other to let him/her chase their own dreams?
But sometimes dreams, perspectives and feelings change. Maybe you will find that the path you´ve always followed wasn´t your own.
Just something to give you feeling to be closer to someone you´ve loved, you felt like you´re home.

Sometimes the feeling to find your home changes, person´s view revise. Just like Harper and Chase´s.
Following their own dreams but sacrifice their love for one another. What they´ve got are 8 days. 8 days full of emotions, full of passion.

Although I loved both characters the one that charmed my heart was the puppy Houdini...true magician, who could bring your heart to beat just little faster ...

Ever since Dirty Talking Cowboy, I’ve been waiting for Chase to get his head out of the sand (trying to be nice and keep it clean) and just take a chance on Harper.
Harper is Brody’s little sister, and in Chase mind, going after your BFF little sister is a big no. however, time is running out for Chase, soon Harper will be following her dreams to Vegas and he has to take advantage of the time he has so that neither of them will be wondering what could have been.
Like the saying goes, we regret the things we didn’t do, rather than regret the thing we did. Harper is going to put her time left to good use, no point holding back if she only has a few days to enjoy with Chase, but after those days are over, it might be too hard for her to leave Chase behind to follow her dreams to Vegas.
I can’t wait to read more of this series. I love the interactions between Harper and Chase. I look forward to Nash and Megan story.

There is nothing better than a hard-working, caring, and sweet man, who just happens to be sexy. Did I mention he has sexy brothers too? I enjoyed reading about Chase and Harper's story. I love that they're both working towards their dreams, and finding new ones. I love that there's a puppy named Houdini. I also loved all the family connections and friendships. I read this book in one sitting and was left with a smile on my face, and anticipation for the last Blackshaw brother's story. In other words, I'd definitely recommend it!

***Thank you so much to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the chance to read this early by giving me an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review!***

Sweet-Loving Cowboy is the second book in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy, and it's one I was really looking forward to since I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, Dirty Talkng Cowboy. I'm happy to say that Ms. Kennedy didn't let me down, and I'm giving this novel a 4.5-star rating.

Chase Blackshaw and Brody McKinney have been best friends forever, and Chase had always thought of Brody's younger sister, Harper, as that little girl who always tagged around behind them. She and Brody lost their parents at an early age, and Brody, 5 years her senior, stepped up and took over raising his little sister, and probably became even more protective of her than any parent would have been. Nine months ago she returned to River Rock, CO, after attending culinary school, and one of her teachers, a famous Las Vegas chef and restauranteur, offered her an internship at his reknowned Las Vegas restaurant. Since her dream has always been to open her own Las Vegas restaurant one day, she's over the moon about this amazing opportunity, but she's not quite ready yet, and she's trying out her new skills (and earning some money for the move) by working part-time at Kinky Spurs, the local honky tonk, but she's also always been infatuated with Chase Blackshaw, and he's become her official taste-tester in the kitchen of Kinky Spurs.

Well, it turns out that Chase has been equally attracted to Harper since she returned to town nine months ago, but because of his close friendship with Brody, Chase has refused to cross the line and make a play for now 27-year-old Harper. However, for the past few months, as he shows up every night after work to taste-test her latest culinary creation, his attraction to Harper has grown, as have Harper's feelings for Chase, and when she announces that she'll be leaving in a week for Las Vegas to be mentored by the aforementioned famous chef, she and Chase both agree to cross that line and act on their mutual attraction for the 8 days left before she leaves town no strings attached, and boy do they ever!

Chase is an honorable man, and has promised Brody that he will do nothing to stop Harper from pursuing her dream and moving to Las Vegas, but neither Chase nor Harper is willing to let her last week in town pass without acting on what they both want--each other, and although time is short, Chase's dream of turning the family ranch into a guest ranch taking up much of his time, and Brody's upcoming wedding being moved to the day before Harper leaves town so she can attend, Harper and Chase manage to make time to be together and their chemistry (and kinkiness) are off the charts. It's obvious that these two truly care about each other and make each other happy, but what about Harper's dream job in Las Vegas? How is Brody going to feel when he learns what Chase has been up to with his little sister? And what of Chase's dream of turning the family home into a destination guest ranch, only to have it fail inspection, not once but twice? What will those failures do to his reputation and new business venture, Blackhawk Construction? The reasons for the failures seem beyond ridiculous, but why is the inspector being so difficult and so picky? Who will benefit if the guest ranch fails?

To find out the answers to these questions, you're just going to have to grab a copy of this sexy, sweet, and addictively entertaining novel yourself. I recommend reading the novels in the series in the order written, but this one works just fine as a standalone. I will also mention that the degree of kink in this novel might be an issue for some--it's definitely for mature readers, and this mature reader can hardly wait to read the next installment of this series.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Sweet & Spicy🔥

Sweet-Loving Cowboy
A Kinky Spurs Novel
By: Stacey Kennedy
Narrated by: Chloe Ryan

I loved everything about this book, from Stacey Kennedy’s wonderful writing style to the story and characters she created to the fabulous narration performed by Chloe Ryan. This is the second book in the “Kinky Spurs” series, it probably can be enjoyed on it’s own but I highly recommend starting with the first book “Dirty-Talking Cowboy”, which will give you a better understanding of the back story, what is happening with the Blackshaw ranch and family. This is Chase Blackshaw and Harper McKinney’s story, Harper is Brody’s younger sister and Chase’s best friend. Harper graduated culinary school, took a job in Kinky Spurs and is getting ready to follow her dreams, to move to Vegas and work with a renowned Chef and hopefully open her own restaurant there soon. Chase is doing what he loves building, his current job is building guest cottages on his family’s ranch. A business plan the Brothers agreed upon to help with money woes on the ranch. Chase knows Harper is leaving, Brody warned him to stay away from her, he wanted her to follow her dreams and not change her mind because of a man. But Chase and Harper come up with their own plan to spend her last week with him. I loved these two together, the chemistry between them is sizzling hot. I also loved how everything played out for them, the story is well plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, some heartfelt moments, so hot loving and the start of a wonderful romance. Stacey Kennedy, thank you for this wonderful story, can not help but fall in love with these great characters, the hot cowboys and the strong woman they fall in love with.

I listened to the Audible edition, Chloe Ryan is a fantastic narrator and voice artist. She does an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personalty. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she captures the character’s emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this fabulous listen🎧

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

Sweet-Loving Cowboy is the second book in the Kinky Spurs series and a great addition it is! I love the Blackshaw brothers and between the three of them, they ooze sexiness, loyalty and they are a hard working trio trying to keep their father's business alive.

Chase Blackshaw is working on his biggest and most important project to date - the construction of the Blackshaw Cattle Company's new guest ranch. Chase is hoping this is going to put his new construction company on the map, but also help he family keep their ranch afloat in the process.

Harper McKinney is the younger sister of Chase's best friend and she's just returned back home after attending culinary school in Denver. Her dream has always been to go to Vegas and open her own restaurant, but circumstances have not allowed her to do that, until now. She's closing in on the date that she will leave home and begin pursuing what she's always wanted.

The one thing that has always hung between Chase and Harper is their explosive chemistry. There is no doubt they are attracted to one another, but Chase is not going to be the person who holds Harper back from her dreams, so he has chosen not to explore what he knows would be amazing between them. When they finally get to the point they can't fight their attraction anymore, Harper and Chase decide to take advantage of the 8 days they have left together before she leaves. Will 8 days be enough?

I really enjoyed how this story unfolded and while the trope is one that has been done many times before, I really liked this take on it. It wasn't where the brother thought that his friend wasn't good enough for his sister, it was that he knew his sister had not gotten the opportunity to follow her dreams previously and he doesn't want her to sacrifice that for anything. It really showed the depth of a brother's love and also the understanding of the man who was falling in love with her.

Great work by Stacey Kennedy and I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Harper and Chase have always known that going after what they both want, each other, would cause serious problems between chase and her brother, Brody. Harper is in the process of making her dream come true and moving to Vegas to mentor a chef and, hopefully, start her own restaurant. Brody wants nothing to stand in Harper's way and basically forbids both Chase and Harper from pursuing their feelings. Chase gets where Brody is coming from and tries to stay strong and not let Harper know that he is more than interested in her. Harper waits 9 months for Chase to make a move and then decides she is going to move on and see if she can make her dream become a reality..

Chase is busy chasing his own dream and has started his own construction company. His first job is getting the cabins built and ready for his new endeavor with his brothers. Things get even more complicated in his life when he realizes that he needs to man-up and go after what he has wanted with Harper before she leaves, even if it only leaves them with 8 days. Their solidification over taking care of the new puppy, Houdini, that Harper found in a dumpster is the catalyst for Chase making his move.

Although both know that their relationship could become more, neither one is willing at first to make that happen. Their chemistry was off the charts and it only clouds both of their minds. Harper was so caught up in her mother's dream that it took her quite a bit to finally see clearly. Chase was raised by his father to put everyone else's needs first so he is not about to stand in the way of Harper's happiness. Brody decides to interject himself into their relationship at every turn and I thought both of them should have given him more than a piece of their mind. He seemed determined to have Harper leave that he lost sight of trying to listen to what she really wanted to make her happy. I liked how Chase, Harper and Brody all had to realize that life is what you make it, not what you want ti to be all of the time. Their road to happiness , although not smooth, was a good story. I liked how it was all wrapped up in the end.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

Sweet Loving Cowboy continues the Blackshaw brothers’ saga as they work to turn their family ranch around from a failing ranch to a guest ranch. Although you could pick this story up on its own, events and people flow through this series, and you’ll have a better understanding of the background if you’ve read Dirty Talking Cowboy – in my opinion.

Chase and Harper’s romance has layers to it, for there is far more going on than their hot and intense week together before she leaves town for a dream mentor chance with a talented Las Vegas chef. Both have their dreams and are working toward making them a reality, perhaps not in the way they originally planned but they aren’t letting those dreams go. Add into the mix the fact that Harper’s brother, Brody is Chase’s best friend and they have that “stay away from my sister” tensions to deal with as well. Both are strong, loyal and determined, each has, in some way, set aside their dream temporarily. Although Chase has been aware of Harper’s crush for a long time, he’s stuck to that hands off deal right up until it’s obvious that Harper is about to leave town. They have about one week, why not spend that time finally seeing what they really have between them. Their chemistry burns up the pages, and yes there is some kink to their sexiness, but that’s not the while story only a part of what they are together.

I enjoyed my time in Sweet Loving Cowboy. While it’s a quick read, there is a depth to the story and characters that will draw you in to their situation and admire, even support their decisions. We’ll get a chance to catch up with old friends, maybe get a touch of what is to come in Hard Riding Cowboy. If you like your Romance intense, sexy and enjoy going deeper into the lives of characters, then you’d enjoy this story. I’d recommend Sweet Loving Cowboy without hesitation.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
