Most of this book isn't actually about owing a Porsche 911 (or Boxter/Cayman, as those are covered as well). Its Porsche History and car specs.
I'll save you some money (without giving anything away). Buy used, and 2-3 generations old. They're near the bottom of their price curve, and are likely to go up. It does have good information about what to look out for in a used vehicle. This alone is worth the price of the book.
Idiosyncratic view from a knowledgeable Porshephile.
That author has been there and done that. Well worth reading , ,better before your first Porsche, but still worthwhile for a new owner as well. I will be Interested in future books!
I enjoyed reading about the author’s experience in searching for the dream Porsche. The book doesn’t quite live up to the title of being the “complete guide”.
Not gonna lie, I like Porsches but never really considered that I could possibly own one. Maybe one is in my future thanks to the insights Mr. McGowan has on the topic.
