Nation building course disguised as a Travel log

Ms. Mah writes a detailed travel, food and survival guide to draw you in and then casually reveals insights to political intrigue or tribal rivalries or Chinese government long-game strategy that exceeds a college course.
Her style is indirect and entertaining but most effective in explaining the complexity and obstacles to foreign policy success.
If only Pompeo and Mattis could get Jenny to prepare their briefings the President might enjoy
