Bittersweet, emotional ending…

I had such mixed feelings opening this, the last in the series about a family I’ve grown so fond of. The Braddocks have been living and loving under a cloud that ends here. They laughed, bickered, teased and supported each other in a way that couldn’t help but climb right into my heart. Winnie’s story was the last to be told…

And it was amazing! There was such turmoil in her romantic life and all was revealed as she stayed at the family cottage, trying to get her lif

I thought that this book was really well done. This is the fourth book in the San Francisco Thunder series but it would work as a stand-alone story. I jumped into this series on the second book and have enjoyed the books that I have read so I was really looking forward to starting this book. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop. These characters made me feel things and I really couldn't wait to see how everything would work

Winnie Braddock has decided to stay at the family cottage in Maine after her father’s funeral. Winnie just can’t shake the crushing grief filling her and she’s not ready to continue life status quo. Unfortunately, Winnie doesn’t know her brother scheduled a contractor to renovate the cottage, or that it’s guy that made her teenage life hell: Holden Hendricks. He teased her mercilessly and was nothing but anger and trouble. The last person she wants to see now is Holden, even if he’s one of the h ...more

Now or Never was the fourth book in the San Francisco Thunder series by Victoria Denault. I loved the Braddock siblings in the previous books and we were now finally graced with Winnie’s story.

Winona “Winnie” Skye Braddock was the oldest daughter of the Braddock siblings. She was beautiful, snarky, brilliant, loyal and the safe, non-risk taker sibling. She was devastated by her dad’s death and was struggling to live each day so she secretly decided to stay in their Maine cottage for the winter.

I have nothing but love for the Braddock family, and am sad to see it all end, but I am also glad to see Winnie taking back her life and finding her happy.

It appeared, that Winnie's withdrawal began with her father's illness, but it seems like she had problems in other areas of her life as well. It was advice from her father, which finally made her stop, take a hard look at herself, and start making decisions to get out of her rut and back to the land of the living. I am not goi

What an emotional and moving story! I have loved the Braddock family from the start and watching them struggle and then rise to each challenge or setback that they face has been amazing. Winnie's story was the most poignant and heartfelt of the series for me. There were times when I felt like I was right there grieving the loss of her father along side her.

Now or Never can be read as a stand alone, but I think it would be most appreciated if read after enjoying the previous 3 books in the seri

San Francisco Thunder #4, Even though this is a SF Thunder book is does lean more toward just being a straight Contemporary Romance than a Sports Romance. The last Braddock sister finally finds her true HEA and it's not with anyone we have previously met. I loved how emotional charged this book is compared to the others, it's all about grieving and starting over again.

Winnie is grieving differently than her siblings, she finally come to the realization she couldn't be happy with her

Not only have a fallen madly in love with all of Victoria Deanult's hockey players in her past stories but I have also fallen head over heels for the Braddock family since Jude was introduced and my love for them has grown by leaps and bounds the more time that I spend with them. Victoria has shown us the passion and love that has grown with each of the Braddock children as they couple up and the strength

I have never read this author before but the blurb really caught my attention. I absolutely LOVE second chance romances. Add in the twist where the heroine, Winnie, broke the hero’s nose when they were teenagers and I was hooked. They reconnect after the heroine’s father dies and the heroine is wallowing in her grief at the family vacation cabin. The hero, Holden, is hired by Winnie’s brother to renovate the cabin.

Holden and Winnie have a complicated past. Holden was not very nice to her. But th

Y'all. I have so much love for the Braddock family, I can't even tell you. I'm so happy to have gotten to know them, and to have them nestled so deeply into my heart. I've loved every single story in this series, and Winnie's was no exception.

The emotional punches went a little deeper with each new book, I think, and so I felt right there with Winnie as she curled into herself and tried to heal her battered heart. She's not always easy to like in this book. She's a wounded animal with so much gr

My heart.

Definitely the most heart-breaking and heart-warming book of the series.

I felt the emotions in this one hit hard, but let me tell you, that Braddock family is a work of art. I feel I mention this in every review I've written for this series but I'll never get over it because this family feel so much as mine and Victoria wrote them so perfectly!

Holy moly! Winnie and Holden melt my cold dead heart. I loved their passion and their partnership. It wasn’t easy considering she has hated him since they were kids and he was the misunderstood bad body back in town making amends. Now they are grown and find themselves back in the same town and trying to figure out life...and love.

I was worried about the family dynamics this time around considering their loss, but they are still as strong and up in each other’s business as ever. Now Or Never, t

Winnie's story is the one I've been looking forward to. I think because it was after death of their father.

That sounds wrong. I wasn't looking forward to that part, but I was interested in seeing where the characters ended up at the end of the drama when things were back to normal...or the new normal.

Holden was the perfect match for Winnie and I loved that they had a messy history. I loved that both of them came to the relationship with previous expe

Received in exchange for a honest review

What I liked the most is how much Holden had changed and how he helped Winnie. He believed in her and supported her. At first Winnie had a lot of anger towards him and it was justified to a point. He had to prove to her that he wasn’t who she saw him as when they were younger. He changed and was building his future. She wasn’t making the job easy but he perservered and in the end it pays off. For Holden, he had many hurdles to cross. His sister and gaining

Victoria Denault writes phenomenal hockey romances, and I’ve loved every book in her San Francisco Thunder series. Now or Never is the fourth, stand-alone installment, and it’s a sexy and entertaining enemies-to-lovers romance with real emotional depth. The heroine has fled to her family’s summer beach house in order to grieve her father’s passing and revaluate her life. She desperately wants to be alone, but her solitude is disrupted by her former childhood nemesis, who was hired to remodel the ...more

Now or Never is a mix of two of my favorite types of romance, sports and enemy to lovers. Holden and Winnie felt so real to me that their feelings and emotions jumped right from the pages. Now I know that this is an enemy to lovers and I have to admit that I don't think that these two hated each other as much as they needed to believe that they did.

Winnie has been suffering emotionally since losing her father, all of the suffering leaves her needing someone to take the anger that has built up i

I‘m ... disappointed. In the story, in the characters and in the amount of grammatical mistakes I found.
Maybe it’s the funky mood I‘m currently in. Maybe it’s the fact that I‘m a lucky girl that never had to deal with anything even remotely close to the things Holden and Winnie go through and therefore can’t really relate. But to me this story just dragged. It wasn’t bad, just not that good either. I missed the spark that I got at the beginning of the series and - at least to me - got lost somew

Another fantastic and enjoyable installment in the San Francisco Thunder series, Now or Never kept me awake until the late hours, completely immersed in Winnie and Holden’s hate-to-love story. The progression of their relationship, from antagonists to tentative friends to more was paced perfectly. Highly recommend this heartfelt and humorous book—and, in fact, this entire series. I’m enamoured by the Braddock siblings!

I had a whole review written and GR ATE IT.

In a nutshell:

I really enjoyed the bittersweetness of this book. Winnie and Holden dealt with heavy issues... overcoming your past and events in your present. They offered each other comfort and redemption that they truly needed.

I love the Braddock family and I'm sad this series is over.

This was a cute, heart tugging story.

I loved the battle that Winnie was going through and how she tried to cope in the wake of her Dad's death. I loved Holden's insistence that he right his wrongs from years before rather than just running to somewhere else.

A truly amazing story!

There aren't enough words to describe my level of enjoyment when it comes to this book, but I will do my best! Now or Never is one of the best books I have read in a long time, and I am so happy to have started the new year off with this book. This is Winnie Braddock's story, and I've been looking forward to it for a while. I was looking forward to seeing how she handled everything going on with her father's declining health, since we've gotten to see how her siblings have been handling it.

I enjoyed the story for the most part, but at times I found myself frustrated with Winnie. Her father's wish for her was to find happiness, but she struggles to do so. I understand she was grieving, but she also seemed unable to allow herself to try

I've read a few of Denault's books but this is my first in this series ... and I'm SO upset at what I've been missing!  (This one can stand on its own, btw.)  These characters are complicated and such a joy to read.

Winnie has recently lost her dad and is reeling.  She's hiding at her family's cottage and doing her best to ignore everything & everyone.  Unfortunately she's not able to ignore Holden.  She gives it a good try though, and is quite abrasive with him for a long time, but Denault doe

A heartfelt story! With the next book in the San Francisco Thunder series, we get the final Braddock sibling's story. We met Winnie in her hockey playing brother Jude's story, then saw more of her in both of her sister's books as they hooked up with the men of the Thunder. This was a very emotion filled read, and flowed well, but there were a couple of aspects missing for me. Number one, it's really no longer a hockey romance ... and number two, considering the main plot of the story, I felt the ...more

I think that Winnie and Holden are my favorite out of the series. My heart is so full that Winnie finally has found the love that she was missing. And damn, I was crying through the first chapter!!

When Winnie ends up staying at the family cottage after two heart wrenching events, the last person she thought she would ever see is the boy who was her mortal enemy as a kid. What was he doing back in town? And now that the summer season was over in Maine, that meant an even bigger chance of him not
