I love these Star Wars Little Golden Books. There are several types of of books in the series. There are 9 books adapting the movies as well as one adapting the Solo film. There is also the I Am series which include I Am a Jedi, I am a Hero, I am a Droid, and this one. I am a Wookiee!
When you think of Wookiees you immediately think of Chewbacca! In this book we revisit the highlights of Chewbacca's life and the people he stood by in the hardest times. I love the art and the reflections on Chewbacca's past.

I loved my Little Golden Books when I was a kid, and so to have one that now tells the tales of one of my favorite nerd franchises, I mean, I was over the moon. This is the perfect book to gift to new parents to help push my Star Wars nerd agenda (and there's a whole collection!). The text is hilarious, and very informative (we should all know more about Wookiees), and the art is really beautiful. As Yoda mentions on the back cover, "Read them all, you must".

One of the more readable LGB ... but not because it actually had a story, more because they kept it light and simple and didn’t bog it down with way too much text.
I totally get these only for the illustrations, which I love. The text is usually meh. This is slightly above meh.

My 3 year-old son loves Chewbacca, which is why we purchased this book. Honestly, the book is extremely basic. There's no story. But there is interesting information about Wookies, especially Chewbacca, so I don't complain too much. The language is for beginning readers with short sentences, though some words are difficult to sounds out (but that's what adults are for until the book is memorized). I'm not sure if I would recommend this book for a non Star Wars fan, but I definitely would recommend it for the young children of a fan.

Quick, simple, and to the point. A nice little tribute to Chewbacca that a young Star Wars fan can appreciate, while also learning about everyone's favorite Wookiee.

Our read for May the 4th (though H was more interested in pursuing her Pokemon alphabet flap book). A cute lil Chewbacca centered walk through all three movie trilogies.

Cute illustrations, fun text, Star Wars. What's not to like? For what it aims to be, it couldn't be much better really. Kids will surely love it. 5/5

I Am a Wookiee is a very cute introduction to the world of Wookiees, with a special focus on everyone’s favorite, Chewbacca. The book is colorful, simple, and designed for young Star Wars fans, making it a fun way to share the galaxy far, far away with toddlers or early readers. While I noticed a few inconsistencies compared to the original Star Wars books I’ve read, this is clearly the Disney version, and it works well as a light, child-friendly take on the lore.
The second time I enjoyed this book, I had a friend read it aloud and the Wookiee sounds they made had me laughing out loud! It added a playful, interactive touch that made the story even better.
Overall: A fun and adorable Star Wars read for younger audiences, made even more entertaining when read aloud with plenty of Wookiee growls.
