Another unexpected find, in the series it seems there are other books which is great!

A place that I have visited several times but apart from one version of the legend, I did not know much about.

The way this book is written, it seems more like a paper sometimes (perhaps it originally was). The authors also assume prior knowledge and offer no glossary. I really struggled with the geology part especially. For the ecology, a plate with all the resident creatures would have been useful. The section that interested me the most was the antiquities and I didn't struggle so much seeing as I've read books about the subject before. It was really interesting to read about the cave art - I had no idea! The etymology part was also very interesting.

Comparing the various sites and caves was also well done but some of it, especially when mentioning the sites in the area, would have been better visually represented as a table. Throughout the book though, there was some repetition.

I look forward to read about ghar il-friefet, though I am told it had been disturbed.
