Eden Summers has an unhealthy obsession with chocolate, a hate-hate relationship with the IRS, and a failing bakery. Her love life is…well, not dying, to be dying it would first have to exist, right? And the only person filling up her inbox is her overprotective mother.

To top things off her next-door neighbor is a rude, obnoxious sex maniac. When he’s not keeping her up half the night with all his banging and moaning, he’s turning her into a babbling idiot.

Because the man is gorgeous. Ripped. Mesmerising. A little strange. And when she is around him, her body melts into a pile of goo.

Infuriating.

Marcun Clacka has come to Earth to locate a precious jewel for his client. He doesn’t like Earth; the people are inferior and, unlike his pack mates, he does not wish to find a human female to mate.

Humans are trouble. Fragile. And loud.
Except the tiny female who lives next to him isn’t too annoying. And she is quite attractive. Foolishly courageous. Yes, perhaps he could mate with her.

There is just one problem. Sky Warriors mate in packs. One female. Six males.

And Marcun does not intend to share the little female.

Mine.

Marcun is a Sky Warrior, a winged alien species that travel as part of a small pack. They travel together, work together and eventually will share the same mate. Marcun has to go to Earth as a human and is tasked with watching Eden Summers a human woman. He moves in next door and before he realises it, he seems to have become part of Eden's life. She is no longer his target or a job, she is his future mate. And only his mate. He will not share her with his pack, even if it means he has to leave the pack and his brothers behind.

This is the start of a new series by Sadie Carter. Although if you have read the Zerconian Warriors series (which, you should!) you may find the characters familiar. However, you don't have to have read the other series to read and understand this, they just happen to be set in the same universe. And what a universe! First the sexy Zerconian Warriors and now the silver skinned and winged Sky Warriors.

Once I started reading Marcun I found it really hard to put down, I loved this book. Marcun was an irresistible combination of grumpy, clueless and fierce. Not to mention drop dead gorgeous. Eden was down on her luck due to conniving ex-husband running off with all her money and leaving Eden's bakery close to bankruptcy. However, she is determined to make it work despite everything falling apart around her. She was an easy character to like and root for. The romance between them was a great mixture of sweet as despite Marcun towering over her curvy figure Eden felt protective over him and sexy.

But, what I liked most was the humour, I was grinning like an idiot when I was reading this. I love the trope of hero-is-fish-outta-water-and-strangely-innocent. Marcun doesn't have a clue about Earth and their customs and it's funny to watch...especially as Eden watches in concern and tries to mother him whilst trying not to drool. There was no particular in depth  or exciting story in this book, it was all a vehicle to push Marcun and Eden together and fall in love. However, for me Marcun and Eden were strong enough characters that they were enough to keep me happy and loving the book.

A brilliant start to a new series by Sadie Carter, I will definitely be reading the next book as soon as I possibly can. If anyone liked her Zerconian Warriors series or if you fancy something light hearted and funny then Marcun is the book for you.

"Marcun" is the story of Eden and Marcun.

When Marcun Clacka, a Sky Warrior is sent to earth to retrieve a client's package, he is disgusted by the condition of the planet. Planning to finish his task and return ASAP, he comes across Eden, his client's abandoned wife and recipient of the package, and is intrigued.

Eden's life is hell. Her husband ran away with all her funds, she struggles to make her bakery work, has an overbearing mother, and lives in a run down apartment. When she tries to rest, her neighbor keeps having a sex marathon all night.
Deciding to confront him, she instead meets the "alien" guy Marcun, who seems to be from a VERY distant land as does not understand customs, takes words literally and has never even tasted cookies!

Soon Eden hires Marcun to work for him, but unknowingly gets a full time bodyguard. And one drunken night, inhibitions give away..

Pretty good read with a chatty and adorable female character, a brooding grumpy male, mild drama, pack camaraderie and hot sex!

I loved how possessive and caring Marcun got of the female, and fought against his pack for her. Ends on a sweet note!

Good start to this series.

This was corny in a cute way and at times a little slow, but overall a fun read.
Kind of a near future setting where we are aware there are aliens out there but only the military and some mail order brides have ever met any...
little do we know that they show up from time to time undercover.

The Sky Warriors are big, grey, sexy and well... alien. Yes they do come across as alien in that they are unfamiliar with Earth culture and the author does a fair job of keeping them 'in character'. Yeah! ...although I didn't really notice much creation of a culture of their own.

Marcun is a dour cynical guy who likes to get the job done as efficiently and expediently as possible.
His job is to intercept or retrieve a stolen jewel that a human criminal is sending by courier to his wife.
Eden is the heroine and the wife of the deadbeat criminal. She could really use some saving. Life has dealt her a bad hand but she just keeps plugging away.
So it's not insta love but there is a strong attraction between the two. Yet it takes a while for them both get past their own hangups. Not in an annoying way, but it does read a little slow from time to time.

Safety is all good despite the book blurb... it's kinda funny so skip the spoiler if you can

3 stars.

My first Sadie Carter book and this is a spin-off series of her Zerconian series.

The hero Marcun is a winged alien who belongs to a pack of 6 males and their culture is to share one female as mate for the pack. But then Marcun developed possessive feelings towards the human female he's been sent to spied upon and didn't want to share her with his pack.

I did find our heroine Eden a bit too naive and trusting but a nice counterbalance to Marcun's stoicism. Overall, a fun read. I will definitely be checking out Ms Carter's other books.

Thirty two year old Eden Summers has achieved her life's dream when she opened her own bakery/sweet shop, gaining popularity and praise for her high quality sweets. That despite a socialite mother who only tolerate's Eden's bakery as a hobby and a husband who appreciates the money her business brings in but never seems to have a job of his own. Regardless, Eden is content until her husband disappears taking with him all their savings and valuables.

Marcum and his pack mates of mercenaries are hired by War Lord Lighton to retrieve a priceless artifact. Though able to easily capture the culprit, the team discovers he has already forwarded the stone to his unknowing wife on Earth who should take possession of it soon. Deciding the least problematic route is to monitor the female, Marcum is designated to blend in as a native of the planet to track and spy on Eden, grabbing the stone when it arrives.

Eden is running on fumes due to lack of sleep from listening to the occupant of the apartment next to hers engage in loud all night long, every night, sex. It would be different if she was a participant but since her husband left a year ago, until she gets her divorce, that's not an option.

In an attempt to address the topic with her neighbor, Eden brings a house warming gift of gourmet brownies hoping she can hint about keeping it down so she can sleep.

* * * *

First in series book with mercenary good guy SciFi alien romance. Build up to this book/series is that Marcun's culture necessitates one female mate to a pack, there being six in his pack. Reverse harem or polyamorous, as a first in series book I needed to 'research' this story to be able to provide the 411 intel to those who follow my reviews. 😉

I'd classify this story as more a chick lit/humorous erotic romance sort of read. It didn't take long into reading before I figured out this was a straight m/f relationship so it was interesting to see how the author would resolve the elephant in the room - the pack would share one female among them.

Marcun and Eden. I guess one could throw out the cautionary warning regarding adultery as Eden was technically still married, separated status, working to get a divorce. Divorce was complicated as her spouse disappeared so it was taking longer for that reason. I'm good with not considering that but for those who wonder and/or have a hard limit on adultery in general, just throwing it out there to comment on.

Secondary characters. Marcun's pack mates Sacaren, Nax, Brogan, Ioin, and Tecan. I'm sure each will be featured in their own story so readers can pick their favorite from the pack according to what personality appeals to them. Mine, Nax. As his story Nax was just released, that's the next one on my schedule. Other supporting characters have limited interaction and affect on the story but I'm crossing my fingers that Lighton will make a return visit or two to the series.

My problematic issue. The aliens themselves. I know it's easy to paint a 'paranormal' tag as the aliens have silver skin and detractable wings but my pet peeve is to stick paranormal on characters from another planet who have different features. On the reverse, I was actually leaning to an 'angle' tag with the whole wings thing. Are these aliens who are warrior angels or just a warrior class of breed who have wings? Really couldn't resolve this in my mind which is why I didn't rate the story higher.

Recommend this for those who enjoy SciFi warrior alpha aliens finding an Earth female to protect, treasure, worship with endless sexual gratification, and basically give her the moon, stars, and above sort of love that completes her world. The kind of story that provides the happy face sigh for the reader who would like to believe that an alien abduction is something they wouldn't mind themselves.

Loved it!

Soooooo...I read this book on a friend's recommendation CJ, and I loved it! This is my first read by this author and it is very well written. I laughed and I laughed and then I laughed some more, Lol. Marcun is a Sky Warrior Alien tasked with his pack to hunt down a jewel that was stolen from someone else. This leads him and some of his pack to Earth. There he meets Eden, who is a Baker, where he has to keep watch over her as she is supposed to receive a package, which contains the jewel. What starts off as an assignment, turns him inside out and he is confused with the feelings she garners in him. He is unfamiliar with Earth's vernacular and he takes what you say literally. There's a scene with some brownies that Eden baked for him for the first time and I could not stop laughing. This was a true sweet treat and in the end Marcun found his real jewel, Eden, his mate and he was NOT SHARING, Lol. So glad that her dastardly soon to be ex-husband got his just desserts, Lol. Too awesome for words and I cannot wait to read the next one! Soooooo good!!! Thanks so much for recommendation CJ!!!! 4 solid stars****

The first book is a decent one, if you are in the mood of an undemanding typical, sci-fi romance.
And if you do not look closely.
It is kinda ridiculous how often she gets almost robbed.
And the main character is a clumsy, naive, adorable damsel in distress with a Mather Theresa complex.

What carried the story was the at times hilarious dynamic between the main characters.

PS: The following books in this Series suffer from the common “copy-paste” Syndrom. I wouldn’t recommend them.

Omg I am sooo hooked on this series already. Ok so we have Curvy, Funny, Redheaded Eden , She is a Baker From Brooklyn. She has a New Noisy Sexy Neighbor Marcun ( Who just happens to be a Sky Warrior Alien ). They have alot of really funny misunderstandings, He always seems to be around to protect her ( i don't want to give to much away ). She wins him over with her brownies. They start to fall for each other, but he has a huge problem, his pack Shares mates. He can't handle any male near her cause he is so Crazy Jealous in Love with her. She is His & His Alone . They were such a great couple. This book was so funny & sexy. I CAN'T WAITTTTT For THE NEXT ONE !!!

Really liked the story except for one thing.

I really liked the story. Eden was a likeable character and not TSTL. She made you root for her. Marcun was clueless and it made his character fun. The only thing that bothered me was some of the wording that the author used. The story is set in New York but the author had her saying things that people in the states, especially NY wouldn't say it, "rubbish bag" and "hen party". Here we would call them a garbage bag and a bachelorette party. It just kind of took away from the story for me. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story and will read more from this author.

A great story!

I really loved the characters in this story! I have to politely disagree with the Mork & Mindy comparison in another review. I watched reruns of that show and it was suppose to be funny, but most of the time Mork was just ridiculous. I would never be able to even think Marcun was ridiculous, no matter what phrases he misunderstood! No comparison! He never came across as any less intelligent or confident because of it.
Sadie Carter wrote a wonderful story with characters that felt real and whole. For me it's very important the characters to remain consistent in their personality throughout the story, I never felt a hiccup or speed bump in the storytelling. I will be reading more!

Unique but dull

This was my first book by Sadie, and I was completely drawn in, in the beginning. It was funny to see how Marcun would take all of Eden’s sarcasm as literal statements. It was refreshing and made more sense than an alien being given a translator and automatically understanding slang and irony. However, as the story and relationship progressed it could have been a lot better if Eden wouldn’t bring up her weight and insecurities every time she would start to get closer to Marcun and/or during their intimate moments. It was a constant downer, and I would just have to skip over the “best parts” because she “talked to much” in her own head. Nice plot twist and storyline, but could’ve done without so many monologues.

I’m really torn when it comes to this book. It’s been a few hours since I’ve finished but I out of writing the review because while I thought the idea was intriguing, the way that it was portrayed fell a little flat. I wanted to love both Marcun and Eden but I couldn’t really connect with who they were. The idea of the pack was what kept me pushing forward. They intrigued me the most. I’m not sure wether I will read more from this author but her ideas were fresh. Maybe I should try reading one of the finished series that this author has to offer. 3 stars #2OCCJD

Where can I find my own winged barbarian

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! What an incredible new concept mixed with a tale as old as humanity. You wouldn’t think the cultural differences and language barrier be so hilarious, but I found myself snorting with laughter at odd moments. And the slow build up to the love of a lifetime kept the story going and me swooning. It’s a shame Eden had to suffer so much, but she would have missed out on meeting Marcun if her life had gone any other way. I can’t wait to see the women who will mate the rest of the pack.

Great book

I loved the book. It had some action mixed in with romance. The romance between Eden and Marcun was so funny to watch. The best was reading how poor Marcun struggled with human slang, the poor alien spent most of the book confused. I felt sorry for him, when he had to choose between Eden and the pack.

I can't wait to read the rest of the books and find out what happens with the rest of the pack. I just hope Eden eventually figures out how to make brownies on the ship.

Didn't annoy me, didn't excite me, didn't really catch my interest in any meaningful way. The story kept dragging, same things were repeated over and over, there was nothing original in characters or worldbuilding and not much really happened.

But the writing itself wasn't exactly atrocious and this alone deserves 2 points in the alien romance genre. Plus one point for simply existing. Somebody took a trouble writing and that's totally commendable.

I loved this book, Some truly laugh out moments. I really love Sadie Carters books her Zerconian Warriors series is sublime so going into this I had high hopes. I wasn't disappointed either. I hope this is the first of many for the sky warriors series, beautifully written with a bit of suspense as always with Sadies books, Marcun I loved but Sacarens book is what I am really looking forward to.

I loved this

Eden is a strong, hard working woman. She chose to live in a unsafe, rundown apartment and keep her bakery. She could easily run home to her wealthy, controlling mother. She stood up to the Sky Warriors. She stood up to her mother. Marcun is stiff, rude, an very literal. There are funny misunderstandings. He begins to fall in love with Eden. He stand up to the pack for her. Loved it. I like Tecan and Sacaren. They were very funny.

Great start to a new series!!!

Sadie Carter is one of my absolute favorite authors! I first fell in love with her Zerconian Warriors series which is where the Sky Warriors were first introduced. I loved Marcun and Eden's story. Sci-fi romance with action and heat! A big plus is it's free on Kindle Unlimited right now. Enjoy!!!

This story is really sweet. The h is great and isn't prone to angsty repetition. Marcun never thought he would fall in love with a human, but these guys aren't much different than the Zerconian Warriors, really. I am a big fan of reverse harem (mfm) stories, so I am a little disappointed that there will be single mates for these guys.

Sweet and short story

There are a lot 9f laughs in this book, the author did a good job with making the H likeable, the alien aspect was well thought out and believable, the sec scenes were a bit too vanilla for me, as I like dark and twisted romance but all and all a nice read 5 stars and a ty to the author

Great Start for a New Series

The story was exciting and kept your attention from beginning to end with enough action and drama to keep you on your toes. The characters were made for each other with plenty of passion and steamy hot sexy scenes that leaves you saying ahh. Love a story that makes me cry and laugh at the same time and keep them coming.

Humorous, very entertaining!
Eden is a sweetheart! Even though her life hasn’t been easy, she doesn’t let it make her a sour, bitter person. Bit by bit, Marcun warms to her, falling in love. I really enjoy the humor elicited by the communication misunderstandings. Good reading, enjoyable characters, a fine adventure! I’m looking forward to reading more about these Sky Warriors!

Marcun

Eden is struggling with her life dream of her bakery. Her husband left her after clearing out all her bank accounts and leaving her a hefty tax bill. Macon is charged with surveilling her when Barry stole a jewel and under questioning said he mailed the item to Eden, his wife.
