6.1 Game Theory by Matt Fitton Sam Bishop è scomparso e tocca a Osgood e Kate Stewart ritrovarlo.
Started off weak but grew stronger in the end. I like how well the characters fit together and the tidbits of information we learn about them. The last two chapters really were nail biters not the Cybermen and the Master of all people. The solution was quite simple but genius. It’s nice to hear more of the Master and I’m interested how he went from helping UNIT to forgetting who he is in the Who episode ‘Utopia’ I was rather disappointed how they dealt with the Auctioneers. After all the built up I wished for a better solution than just be killed by the Master in five seconds flat. I rather liked the idea of having an organisation opposite UNIT who uses alien tech to make money. It could’ve been explored better. Maybe they appear again, who knows *insert Tom Baker gif from the 50th anniversary here* Certainly not my favourite box set but another solid one.

Unit starts out fighting a group known as the Auctioneers and end up fighting a far more deadly enemy, THE CYBERMEN. Throw in the War Master and you have an exceptional Unit 4 part adventure.
I didn't realize that UNIT: Encounters would setup the events that unfold in Cyber-Reality so that paired with the fact The War Master shows up in this series, I knew I had to give this set a go at my earliest convenience.
Game Theory: The Auctioneers have kidnaped Sam Bishop and he's now trapped on a boat with a mysterious woman named Julia. Kate Stewart and Osgood have to play a game with The Overseer, and if they fail to win, not only will Sam die, but innocent people across the country as well.
Matt Fitton has written a fun but tense story that has UNIT going up against virtual reality technology. The Overseer is playing a power-trip game in this one, so it was interesting getting to finally know our enemy and realize just how dangerous they are. 8/10
Telepresence: Osgood has discovered that the virtual reality gear is a pathway into another universe. Kate Stewart sends Osgood, Sam, and Shindi to explore this other universe. Sam Bishop is slowly recovering but something else has hijacked him and now a deadly threat is on the way. Sam has to get to Kate before a terrible presence is released into the universe.
Guy Adams has written an outstanding script that is atmospheric, unsettling, and clever. The climax leading up to the cliffhanger had me on the edge of my seat and the cliffhanger itself, oh my gosh! I'm excited to see what happens next because The Cybermen have arrived. 10/10
Code Silver: UNIT has been put under lockdown nobody can escape. Kate Stewart and her remaining soldiers are fighting against an impossible army of Cybermen. Today is the day UNIT falls.
Guy Adams has put together an explosive and fast-paced script where the stakes are incredibly high and all our favorite characters are put through hell and back. It seems UNIT's only hope now lies with an old enemy. 10/10
Master of Worlds: Kate Stewart is willing to risk her life to save the world, but when The Master arrives he gives her another chance. The Cybermen have taken his Tardis and now he's willing to team up with UNIT to get it back. The Auctioneers are nearby and The Master has a nasty surprise for them.
Matt Fitton has written a brilliant finale that ties up this set wonderfully and brings The War Master into the fold. Derek Jacobi was incredible here and his Master is delightfully evil and sadistic as you'd expect him to be. 10/10
We're back to the style of single 4-hour stories with this release, albeit with clear shifts in the narrative at the end of each hour-long episode. The identity of the threat that UNIT is facing this time is also obvious from both the title and the cover. The twist, however, is that here the Cybermen are using something that didn't exist when Kit Pedler created and named them in 1966: cyberspace.
The story starts off where the previous collection ended, following up on what happened to Sam Bishop - who, unusually, is present in all four episodes of this story, rather than just the one as is usual. To begin with, there is no initial connection with the Cybermen, who don't turn up until the halfway mark, and instead, it's a story about VR equipment and video games that features the arc villains from the previous release. The second half, however, is mainly set in 'reality', while making heavy use of modern technology in a way that's reminiscent of The Bells of Saint John.
This part is heavy on action, and didn't feel as effective to me as the lead up did, it being difficult to work out at times exactly what was going on. Still, there were some nice references to past Cyberman stories, some character background for Sam, and good use of Osgood as an antagonist for the other heroes. Her usual role is instead taken by the Master, who perhaps doesn't quite have the scope here that he does in his own stories, but is nonetheless well-written and (of course) acted.
It's not one of the strongest UNIT stories, in part because everything's wrapped up a bit too easily at the end and the Master rather tends to overshadow things when the story should be more about Kate, Osgood, and the rest of the team. But it's certainly entertaining and making the Cybermen "cyber" in the more modern sense is a fun idea.
UNIT is back and this time the mysterious Auctioneers are on the block.
6.1 Game Theory - A fun jaunt, but way too predictable. Nothing particularly special (3/5).
6.2 Telepresence - Another fun game-themed romp. But the ending … well, I’ve got to push right on and binge another episode (3/5).
6.3 Code Silver - And NOW we’re cooking! Excellent! Great fun and non-stop action and excitement. And if I thought the previous cliffhanger was a nail-biter, it’s got nothing on this one (4/5).
6.4 Master of Worlds - ¡Ay, caramba! With how this set started, I was expecting to (1) binge my way through it in a day and (2) enjoy it this much. I think it’s safe to say that these spoilers, since they appear on the cover, are safe game: and it’s pretty darn spectacular. Yeah, there’s some potential paradox, but this is the so there’s a lot of stuff that won’t carry over to time of the Thirteenth Doctor, a lot of stuff would likely get erased, so there won’t be a paradox. In any case, this is definitely a thrilling ending to this set, and some story threads begun in UNIT: Encounters. Just a wonderful roller coaster ride (4/5).
This set also include some isolated music score tracks and a bonus disc of the usual interviews with cast and crew. I’m going to give this entire set a bonus bump-star. The opening chapters are pretty standard, but that will throw you off for the second half. The closing half is not anywhere teased or hinted at in the slightest during the first half.
I will admit I didn't enjoy this quite as much as the other UNIT audios. Bit of a loss of gender balance with mostly just one woman in each location. The Master turning up and solving everything in the place of the Doctor wasn't that great. While I loved Derek Jacobi and his interactions with Kate the thing I love best about non-Doctor audios is that they Don't rely on the Doctor to solve everyone's problems and the humans have to work stuff out for themselves. I did enjoy the exploring the deserted London part and cyber Osgood was really great. But overall not as fun as previous ones.
