ZOE'S HIDING PLACE is a great book for children who have trouble paying attention and have anxiety issues. Zoe is lost in a world of fairy tales and tends to daydream instead of paying attention to her teacher and then she gets lost! Her safe place is in her bed under the covers, hiding from the world. Her parents try to encourage her and assure her that even if she gets lost God is still with her and will never leave her. They also encourage her to pay attention to her teacher on the field trip ...more

This wonderfully illustrated book addresses anxiety, and shows your child how to trust God when afraid. The story is fun, but has depth.

Zoe’s Hiding Place will be a good conversation starter when you read it with your child. There are helpful tips and scripture for parents to use. I highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Zoe doesn't pay attention to the teacher and gets lost and is scared or anxious. Having done the same previously and been counseled by her parents to handle her anxiety or fears realizing God is with her, she gets through the situaiton.

This a delightfully cute and sweetly illustrated series and children and parents will certainly love the illustrations by Joe Hox. The critters that populate the pages of the stories are charming and beautifully drawn with a pallet of colors that delight the

Zoe’s Hiding Place was a very cute and well told children’s story about a little mouse by the name of Zoe who has an issue with being anxious. She is a little mouse with a big imagination, love’s fairy tales, and sometimes just has a hard time keeping focused as she gets lost in said imagination. As a mother I completely understand as I have children who can relate. However, due this lack of focus and attention sometimes Zoe becomes anxious as she has not listened or understood the directions.

Tucked into a lovely story about an anxious little mouse, are life lessons that children and adults alike can easily take to heart. Additionally, the parent resources in the back are wonderful.

The narrative is a bit lengthy for smaller children, but very easy to adapt into meaningful conversations. And the art work? Outstanding.

At present, there are three volumes in the "Good News for Little Hearts" series which seeks to help kids and parents face anxiety, failure, and anger in a God-honoring way. While these animal stories don't quite have the enduring charm of classics such as the Beatrix Potter books, Little Bear, or Frog and Toad and some conversations between characters seemed to come off a little unnatural (and maybe even a little "preachy") at times, my little ones enjoyed them. The volumes are sturdy and full ...more

One of three in an excellent series of books for 5-10 years olds that deal with the heart issues that affect us all: anger, pride and fear. They are beautifully illustrated by Joe Hox, who brings animals engagingly to life with captivating touches.

Buster learns literally that pride goes before a fall, when he trips in the big running race he was sure he would win. Zoe’s worries keep her from trusting that God cares for her and will take care of her. Jax’s family learn how anger can affect them

Both of my daughters (ages 6 and 3) claim Zoe's Hiding Place: When You Are Anxious as their favorite book of the Good News for Little Hearts series. They like the character of Zoe and the colorful illustrations hold their attention while I read the narrative. As the title indicates, this book deals with fear and anxiety. I absolutely love two things in this book. First, that Zoe and her mom talk openly about the anxiety she experiences. Second, that Zoe's fear actually happens – because Zoe has ...more

The book is beautifully illustrated and will be a great addition to anyone looking for Children’s books with a message from God.

Zoe is a cute character and seems to let his mind wander sometimes. He finds himself lost and becomes anxious. I loved how the book gave scriptures to reinforce that God is always with us. When we are afraid, God reminds us that “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

If you are looking for books that encourage children and give them scriptures to help them rember God’
