Maya Forbes has never had a one-night-stand. With her irresponsible but brilliant sister filling the role of flighty one, Maya must live sensibly and dutifully. But when she meets a gorgeous redneck from Panama City Beach who makes her head whirl, she must quit thinking idiotic thoughts about upending her life after one week of mind-altering sex, especially with her dream promotion waiting for her back home.
Bo Harrison has lived his entire life in a tourist town where the women he meets are typically gone in a week. After a long-term relationship that left him mentally drained, he didn’t mind the easy, week-long romances for a while. But watching his best friend fall in love has him thinking along those lines, especially when he meets a woman unlike any he’s ever dated—smart, sexy, independent. The catch? She leaves in one week, of course.
Seacrest Sunsets is book two in the Love Along Highway 30A series, which features beautiful beach communities, a circle of unique and amazing friends, and romances that will have you cheering on the couples and fanning yourself from the heat. All books are standalone and can be enjoyed in or out of order.
Melissa Chambers writes contemporary novels for young, new, and actual adults. A Nashville native, she spends her days working in the music industry and her nights getting lost in her characters. While she’s slightly obsessed with alt rock, she leaves the guitar playing to her husband and kid. She never misses a chance to play a tennis match, listen to an audiobook, or eat a bowl of ice cream. (Rocky road, please!) She’s a member of several online and local writers groups, all of which she treasures and is unendingly grateful for, and has served as president for the Music City Romance Writers. She is the author of the Love Along Hwy 30A series, the Destiny Dunes series, the Before Forever series (YA), Courting Carlyn (YA), and Two Boy Summer (YA).
Seacrest sunsets is a classic romance with a modern twist. I'm a fan of this author and I read this book via Kindle Unlimited. This is the second book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone story.
Maya has just gained a promotion at work. She has taken a little time off before she starts her new job. A much-needed vacation is on the cards with her best girl pal. Felicity wants Maya to have the full holiday experience; late-night drinking, sunbathing and a little romance. It's time for the girls to let their hair down. Maya is a professional businesswoman and needs to loosen up a bit. When she sets her eyes on a local guy, Bo she doesn't realise just how significant he is. Felicity wants her to have a little fun and Maya is tempted by Bo.
It's Bo's birthday and he's turning 35. He's ready to settle down and have a serious relationship. He doesn't want to date a tourist. Short romances are a thing of the past, but Maya is different.
This story is fun, sweet and complicated. Can a holiday romance change everything? These two are from different worlds but the sparks are flying. 5 out of 5. A charming read.
It's no secret that I love all Melissa Chambers books, but SEACREST SUNSETS may be my favorite so far. Since I picked up this book YESTERDAY (yes, I read it in one day, don't judge), my mind has been lost in Highway 30A and I've been useless to everyone around me!
Maya ends up with the 30A crew that we met in SEASIDE SWEETS when she and her friend visit their childhood friend, Sebastian. She's on a week of vacation from her stressful, annoying office job as an operations/marketing guru in Indianapolis, after being promoted to Vice President. Although Maya is advancing in her career and is committed to healthy, sensible living, she has low-esteem when it comes to the opposite sex, thanks to issues with her family and exes.
Onto Bo. If I had to describe Bo in one word, it would be... "sigh." Yep, he's built, handsome, sexy, and runs a successful pool supply and cleaning business. He's a caring brother and friend. Even his dog is adorable. But Bo is ready to settle down, sort of, and has no interest in a week-long affair with another tourist. When Maya comes to town though, sparks fly and he takes it upon himself to show her how sexy and wonderful she is, and to teach her that letting go can be worth the risks. Of course, there's no way this relationship can work, right? Wink wink. (Note: Remember that Bo's business is pools? This translates to pool make-out sessions and hot-almost-naked bodies doing things under the Florida sun, just sayin').
My only complaint is that I'm not sure who should be my official 30A book boyfriend: Bo or Blake. Not to mention that I started Chase's book and now he's in the running too. May end up being a three-way tie.
Highly recommend this wonderful series for lovers of contemporary romance, adult-aged (thirty-something) responsible MCs, and beach reads where you lose yourself into the story and characters.
Such a great book. It will hold your interest until the last word, then leaves you wanting more. Bo and Maya romance was not without drama, sadness and sex. This series Love Along Hwy 30A deals with strong friendships and instant chemistry between the main characters. I think you need to read these books in order to appreciate the ongoing tight community and it's people.
Bo has done the whole fun with a vacationer but is over that and wants so much more. But he falls for a vacationer. He wants to spend all of his time with her and do fun, exciting things around the area. He even shows her his special place that he has never taken anyone before. Can he convince her that they are meant to be?
Maya does not do one night stands, but Bo just might convince her otherwise. He is so very tempting and irresistible. Can he tear down her walls and have her live on the wild side for a week? Will the issues at work and the promotion she is getting be pulling her back and away from the one man that she may truly love?
Continuing the story of friends in a Florida beach town, Melissa Chambers centers on vacationing Maya and local Bo and their blooming and steamy relationship. Bo, not wanting a quick affair with a tourist and Maya, a bit uptight and unwilling to have a short fling, fall for each other in a brief week and the story continues when Maya returns to her home in Indiana and her life with a new high powered job...A must read! I can't wait to continue with book 3.
A summer getaway…reconnecting with friends…a carefree night at Alligator Alley in PCB…a vacation fling. What could possibly go wrong?
This is such a fun series. The eclectic group of friends will have you laughing, swooning, and wishing you were part of their group. Seriously, these people are true friends and family. Seacrest Sunsets is Bo’s story of how he turned that summer vacay fling into something more. You’ll want to take a trip along 30A by the time you’re done reading!
I started with Seaside Sweets and just had to continue on to see what happened to the other characters. Well I must once again continue on to the next book in this series as the stories are so well written and the characters are so intertwined, you just have to know how everyone's life turns out. You get that feeling of being related to this group of friends and need to know that everyone will be ok. Once again great writing Melissa Chambers!!!
The man here is Bo. I'd say most girls could use a Bo in their life! Maya is just in Florida on vacation for a week, not enough time for a romance. Except her friend decides she needs a fling. Story has several interesting characters which seem to appear in the next book. And I intend to purchase!
