Ramsey (A St. Claire Novel, Bk #2) 3.5 stars

I read the aforemented 4 books, 1000+ Kindle pgs, about
the couple Ramsey + Gia. Ramsey was a precise/ exacting
architect & millionaire architect business CEO. He could be
controlling or kind. He reminded be of Captain Picard in
Star Trek Next Gen: "Make it so." And then he expected
people to jump to his tune & complete whatever task he
assigned (including ER staff). Ramsey displayed several
OTT reactions over the 4 books. He felt himself incapable
of loving again.

We saw Gia as sweet, quirky, anxious & kindness itself. I
liked her strength, but she could be inflexible IE the Atlanta
plane ride. Over time, Gia became more confident and relaxed.

What did I like RE this couple? Vulnerability, closeness to
family, and ability to come together quickly when one in
their close circle needed help. Gia re-connected w/ family
(I won't give this away).

What irked me at times? After Ram 1st met Gia he practically
stalked her. Not good for a woman w/ anxiety. Ram thought
$ the solution to everything. Gia told him to stop being her
"bill fairy." His closest sib Regal cautioned him: Gia wasn't
ruled by $, and wanted her shop to swim/ sink on her own
merits. Ram needed a more nuanced way w/ sexy times w/
Gia. Sometimes he felt more a conqueror than a lover. Ram
held too rigid a perception of a spouse's role. Ram learned
protectiveness didn't equate to smothering someone w/ his
expectations?

Obviously I had some mixed feelings about Ram. Ram had
wonderful, supportive parents. Who injected reality when
Ram needed it the most. Overall, a good read.

Omg I loved Ramsey so much. Lawd please send me a man that loves me like Ramsey love Gianna. From those first few words within the first few pages my heart was doing somersaults in my chest because I felt every word. I love the St. Claire’s at this point and I know I can’t wait until I get to Regal because he’s a mess. So happy for Gianna and Gemma. Definitely excited about whose next

Ramsey

Whoo! Ramsey, Ramsey, Ramsey! Already knowing Ramsey's story from the Boardwalk Bakery series still doesn't totally prepare you for him in his marriage to Gianna and his love for their unborn daughter. OMG, his make up scenes were 💯; and Tina Martin did the dang thang with that shower scene---whew, "mind, body, spirit" for real for real. The baby shower was fun and you will feel like you are there too. Can't leave out that flirtatious bantering between Regal and Felicity, and definitely looking forward to Romulus and Siderra's journey to love. We needed that bit of excitement at the hospital which kept it real-life like and true Ramsey style. Definitely a book to enjoy.

Love Conquers

The story started off a little slow to me. Ramsey was head over heels in love with Gianna, but at times it felt overwhelming. His approach was too aggressive for my liking, especially when Gianna was so calm and mild tempered. I didn't like that it was his way or none at all. He eventually got better with his approach and started considering Gianna in decisions. Along the way I definitely got connected to the characters because I teared up when life threw them a wrench. The brothers have me intrigued.

She’s his second chance at happiness, a chance he wasn’t expecting but one he’s grateful for after his previous fiancée passed away. He loves her. More than life. More than anything. That’s why he hangs on so tight. Analyzes her movements. Loves her hard. Watches her closely. Expecting their first child and still working at the bakery, Gianna is a woman who wears many hats. One thing she can always count on is the support of her loving husband. But does running the bakery, preparing for her little ‘cupcake’s arrival and an unforeseen request from her estranged mother Geraldine bring more challenges than she can handle all at once?

Wish they had told the story of how the met. Things of the past are referenced, but would like detailed telling (especially about mom). Is there another book that details that? Currently reading books in order written because they flow better and are not really stand-alone.

Ramsey is totally smitten with his wife. Now the couple is expecting g their first child, and being a St. Claire he is extremely over protective. Gianna, completely understands her husband and makes a decision without telling him. This causes a rift in their relationship. Gianna is dealing with the overprotective husband, the pregnancy, her bakery, her sister’s recovery, forming a relationship with her father, and now her birth mom is back and wants to reconnect. Gianna’s plate is very full.? The birth mom wants a second chance, I’m unsure if she is being truthful on her motives to reconnect with her daughters. Only time will tell. At the hospital, Gianna is delivering prematurely and her body is not reacting well. Baby is healthy and released but Mommy was in ICU. Ramsey has already lost one wife -surely, he is not going to lose his beloved Gianna. Lord, please don’t let this woman die.

Intense love

Ramsey possesses such a pure love for his soulmate and wife Gianna, that at times, it appears overbearing and stifling, the sign of an unselfish love, makes you realize compromise is absolutely necessary. As Ramsey evolves, his compromising skills expand, making his wife comfortable with idea of establishing a relationship with her absentee mother. Pregnant with their first child, excitement and anticipation have this couple, along with friends and family in celebration mode, giving time for reflecting in each characters life. I've read the Baked in Love series, was glad to get more insight through this book, however, I'd really like for Felecity and Regal to explore an indepth chemistry, after all, that's got to be the reason for the "in your face" banter.

Absolutely Sweet

WOW! I have to say this is amazing! What a great series of stories, they will bring a smile to your face. The characters are awesome and their chemistry burns up the pages. It's full of emotions and feisty sexy heroines with handsome heroes. I can tell you that you will enjoy the humor, especially if you don't mind the sizzling hot passion, plus if all else fells every page will keep you on the edge of your seat. Characters like these will draw you in to see how their character grow throughout the story and of course you won't be disappointed ,The end may seem like a cliffhanger but this may not be the end, so don't be too hard on the author because you get to laugh your until your side hurts at the end of this one!!!

Regal is still my fave, that boy is crazy. Bet him and felicity will have a daughter name Rayne bc he can’t let anything go

I’m still on the fence with the redemption of Geraldine. My spirit still can’t take to her

I’m looking forward to the book on Romulus bc I don’t know much about him and don’t know what to make of him

Loved it

Another great story about the St Clair brothers
This one was about Ramsey and Gianna

This was a great story of the love they had for each other and family
There was a little drama with Gianna mother who left her and her sister as young children but overall family love came through
It is always good when we can read about strong black men who love , respect and protect their women and want what's best for their family

Sweetness and Testosterone

The story of Ramsey and Gianna is sweet. A little too sweet at times but I guess the fact they started their relationship in a bakery allows the over the top endearments. Ramsey loves Gianna to the point of obsession but his protectiveness is the way he manages overcoming past loss. He is endearing in his protection but can be domineering about it as well. Gianna has learned to balance Ramsey’s over protection to stand strong as she navigates the developing relationships with her newer family members.

Gianna & Ramsey's Love

One of the discussion questions was describe Ramsey's and Gianna's Love.

I would say their love is unconditional and pure! It's the kind of love that I believe everyone wants. They truly are spirit and soulmates.
They were created for each other.
The other is Ramsey's love about control?
I don't think it is, I think it is more to do with fear of losing her in any type of way. He repeatedly said there would be no him with Gianna. I truly believe there wouldnt be.

I'm so glad we got another book featuring Ramsey and Gianna. I fell in love with them in the Boardwalk Bakery series, so to give them another book made my day. I absolutely love those St. Claire men and the women in their lives. These are sexy, hardworking, grown men, and the ladies that captures their attention better be ready for some strong loving. Lol, "baby hands"! This was a fantastic follow up with a hint at what's to come. Yes Ramsey 🔥🔥🔥

Ramsey

Once again author Tina Martin did not disappoint us. It was great catching up with Ramsay and Gianna. Ramsey really knows the meaning of being a manly man. His character is so loving and protective his family. His personality has really evolved since him and Gianna became a couple. It was also great seeing newlyweds Royal and Gemma. Can't wait to see what's next for the St. Clair family.

A little overbearing!

This book was not one of my favorites, a lot of it was repetitive and it just drug on. I was happy that everything was ok with Gianna and the baby! One time during the nurse telling Ramsey that the baby was being discharged to go home it stated Royal not Ramsey said no way was he leaving his wife. I just felt like this story was somewhat boring. I hope the other stories are more livelier!

Should have been a novelette

As much as I love Ramsey and Gianna, this book really could have been a novelette. It was very boring and hum drum. I love them as a couple but Tina really could have updated us in a different book possibly Regal’s or Romulus’s love story. Ramsey and Gianna did not need another installment of their love story. I still love Tina’s books but this one just dragged on.

Should've been a Novella

This book didn't need to be this long. I also don't like how overbearing the men are in these books. They are way too controlling. A relationship is a partnership. Alk that talk of being led and how they talk to the women is crazy. And if I see "my man" or "her man" one more time. The couples in these books are boring, but I'm in between books right now and I've read worse.

Good story

I enjoyed catching up with Ramsey and Gianna. Ramsey’s love is intense, much like the man himself and Gianna is a great match for hum. I also enjoyed the glimpses of Royal and Gemma and especially enjoyed getting an idea of what to expect from Regal and Romulus and can’t wait for their stories!

I was reluctant to buy this book because I didn't think there was more to write about Ramsey and Gianne , that would hold my attention or make want to read another story about them. I was so WRONG. What a great story. I can't wait for the next book in this series. Awesome story.

I loved it! I like that Gianna & Gemma's relationship with their mother was dealt with. I like that it isn't as strained like in the first two books. Hopefully their mom keeps up with the therapy and becomes a better grandmother. I cannot wait until Regal and Felicity's book comes out. I love how they go back and forth. Another good read!

So enjoyable

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. I love the family dynamics and how interwoven it is in the story. These brothers are quite the men. This was so endearing about Ramsey and Gianna. Love does conquer all. I can’t wait to read about Romulus in the next installment.

Fantastic Book

I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! It was so amazing to catch with Gianna and Ramsey! The love they had for each other is amazing! I enjoyed the storyline and the love between them! It was good catching up with everyone as well! Such a fantastic book! I'm enjoying Tina Martin books so much!

Should've been a short story

The first 80%of this book could have been summed up as chapter 1-2. Then continued on at around the 87% mark. This was like watching paint dry. This was essentially a brief drop-in on the couple and was not properly served being a full length novel. The story was slow to read and therefore boring, until just after the baby shower.

I felt this was more of a continuation of Baked with Love series. Didn’t offer too many surprises. I still love the St. Claire men. Hoping Regal is next although Romulus needs-to get it together. Patiently waiting for the next story.

Grateful

We first met Ramsey and Gianna in the Broadway Bakery series. As we delve deeper into their lives Tina keeps us on the edge of our seats while bringing tears to our eyes. Another great heart touching story Tina.
