This book is a part of the multicultural classification. The story is not much more than two sisters waiting on their father to come home. In the end he finally does but it's a long drawn out book leading up to that. Definitely not my favorite but it does introduce cultural things that many kids within the United States may have never had to deal with.

Most of this story was a bit of a downer with the fathers abandoning their families, but the father does come home by the end so I liked that aspect. Otherwise, I wasn't that enthralled.
