HOME WAS WHERE THEIR HEARTS WERE….

Decorated Marine and former FBI agent Sam Beckett is going home.
Home to the place he couldn’t wait to leave.
Home to the town that nowhere else in the world could replace.
Home to the people that matter.
Home to the girl that he could never forget and to the battle he would face to win back the woman that she had become.
And home to a predator who waits to take the things that Sam cherishes.

Delilah Prescott had a perfect house.
She had spent a lot of time and effort and blood and tears to make it that way.
If she lived and ate and slept alone in that house, well, loneliness didn’t give you scars.
At least not like the ones that fists gave you.
And if she didn’t remember how to laugh or love, again, this was the price she was willing to pay.
But Sam was back.
And suddenly that price seemed too high, and her perfect little house seemed like a perfect little prison.

And while Sam and Delilah tear each other’s bodies up with passion while trying to fix each other’s hearts, the predator is watching.
Waiting.
Planning.
Sometimes the fairy tales are true. The woods aren’t always safe.

I was born in Kentucky and raised in Florida, so I am a southerner through and through. Since I was old enough to pick up a book, I have been a voracious reader. I wrote the usual poetry and short stories in high school, and I kept the dream of writing in the back of my heart until opportunity and encouragement helped me to realize that dream.
I live in Tampa with my kids, grandkids, dogs, various other livestock, and way more books than is strictly healthy.
Hot Romance.
Suspense.
Humor & heart.
Grown up stories for grown up people. This is what I write. There's also food, music, dogs, the occasional geek reference, and quite possibly an inappropriate joke. There will likely be dead bodies as well.
Three random facts about me:
1. I was bitten by a shark when I was 14.
2. I have read War and Peace. (When I get to the afterlife, I am demanding that week of my life back. Sorry, Tolstoy.)
3. It is my sincere belief that any situation can be improved by eating some cheese.
My live philosophy is this - guard your inner peace and read dirty kissing books.

We met Sam Beckett and Delilah Prescott in Journey to Faithful. They were teenage loves but then their lives went totally different directions due to choices made at the time. They each faced challenges and difficult situations. They both proved to be survivors. But both still have scars and have been bent and near broken.

Delilah found her way home a while ago and carved out a new life for herself. She has since strived to make her world as perfect and drama free as she could. But there was always a void. Sam chased his dreams and made a difference where he could. But seeing the effects of war and the dark side of the FBI finally lost its luster. He is ready to come home to his family, a slower paced Sheriff job, and possibly reconnect with the girl that got away.

But there is plenty of baggage to wade through. Delilah has fears, insecurities, and self worth issues. Sam is changing his whole life and is on a mission to win her back. But he will have his work cut out for him to make her feel safe, loved, and deserving. They will have to learn who they are now as adults instead of the two kids who shared all their firsts.

But Sam's new job is not so quiet for a charming small town. He has a case he is working and there is danger lurking. He is determined that everyone involved will get their happy ending, but he is working against the clock and an unknown threat.

This is an emotional, sexy, sweet, and suspenseful story of survival, hope, and second-chances. The main couple are both likable and had been through so much. Sam is the ultimate alpha protector who also has a tender, loving heart. And Delilah has so much love she needs to be able to give freely. If they can just find their way back.

It is told in multiple points of views so we get peeks into many of their thoughts and feelings. It took me a bit to get used to that again with some of the early transitions, but then I was fine with it as the book went on. The side characters are funny, strong, protective, and all have such strong bonds. Grandma Mercy is one of the most awesome women and I loved all the scenes she stole. I am looking forward to more books in this series as I would love to see more with Kyle, John, and Esther.

This book felt like a journey in a different way than the first one was. This was more of an internal journey of self acceptance and gaining confidence, of fighting inner demons while also fighting for love, and of learning how they both have changed and if they still fit. Although it shared a similar theme of two people with damaged hearts just trying to see if connecting them could make them whole again.

The author has a way of taking hard situations and lives that are not perfect and at times tragic, but also finding the silver lining and saving grace...the beauty of life in all its imperfections. And shows how people can rise above, and how connections and family can make all the difference.

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Holy smokes! I loved this book. Once I got going I didn't want to put it down. I was up late just to finish it, and of course ended up with a book hangover to pay the price. But it was worth it. The chemistry and history between Sam and Delilah was amazing. There was just enough suspense of the “Who did the bad thing?” to add to the story and to the connection of the characters. I got to that moment and I was like Whoa! I want the next book, NOW!

I read at least a book a day. I’ve read so many authors in my life as a result. But of all those authors, I have less than 10 that I one-click every time they write a book. I don’t care if those authors write a grocery list. I want to read it.

I also rarely write 5 Star reviews unless it is a fabulous book with a strong storyline and in depth characters. In 2017 with her second book (thinking the first might be a fluke on how wonderful it was), I added to my list of always buy.

Anna Bishop Barker’s Faithful Trilogy is in my top ten all time favorites and it isn’t completed yet.

Journey to Faithful was her 2017 release that was a suspenseful story of cults, good and bad FBI agents, a doctor and love.

Now, she’s releasing the second in the Faithful Trilogy - Home to Faithful. I started it about 9 at night and I stayed up until I finished it. This book of second chances, family, loss, unconditional love, and healing after terrible trauma is a five star book for me.

We follow two storylines in this book. Sam Beckett, formerly in the FBI, returns to his small hometown in East Tennessee to become the new police chief. His high school sweetheart, Delilah Prescott, has returned to try to find safety. And young children are being kidnapped in the nearby Cherokee Reservation and the Smoky National Park.

Sam has to find the children and try to win back Delilah. But his Lilah isn’t the same girl she once was and time has caused so much harm to her that she struggles with self worth and the dragons she fights.

Don’t walk. Run and buy Journey to Faithful now so you’ll be ready for Home to Faithful on Tuesday. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

This is Anna's third book and second in her Faithful Trilogy. Once again, Anna doesn't disappoint. She takes us on a journey back to the small Tennesse town and the haunting pasts of its occupants. Delilah and Sam's story was hinted at in book one, Journey To Faithful, and Anna brought it to full bloom in this story of suspense and romance. Her writing is thoughtful and detailed, giving the reader a vivid image of not just the hero and heroine but the secondary characters, as well. Even though this had a suspenseful edge, the story was an easy read and flowed flawlessly.
Though this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Journey To Faithful first. Anna has named this a trilogy, but I could easily see more than just a third book in this series. John, Ester, Kyle and even the quirky Rhonda Valentine left me with the feeling they could each warrant their own story. I'll be eager to read the next installment!!
I am an ARC reader for Anna and received a copy of this book for an honest review.

This is the long-awaited second book in the edgy series by Anna Bishop Barker. Sam, Lilah and one of the best second chance stories you'll read this year. He's the retired FBI agent you met in Journey To Faithful and he's returning home somewhat jaded from the job and his earlier stint in Afghanistan. She's his first everything and a survivor in her own right. As the new sheriff
in town he's looking for two missing kids and trying to reclaim the love of his life. But fate, mental illness and life doesn't seem to want a HEA for these two weary souls. You get a great story, a kickass playlist and a hint at Book Three. What are you waiting for? This book is out next week and I received an ARC for review. You have time to check out Journey To Faithful first. Then, come Home To Faithful. You really can go home again. If you like the south, the pull of family and a good love story, this is one for you.

Home To Faithful is a story that will stick with me. Not only because Sam and Delilah’s story is an utterly compelling one spanning decades, but because the sensitive topic at the core was written with tremendous care and understanding.

Home To Faithful will have your every nerve exposed, as Anna Bishop Barker prods at our worst fears, our deepest secrets and behind our carefully enforced shields. This story captivates from the first page, as the author pulls you through a complex range of emotions, that has you chuckle as easily as it has you well up.

It is no secret I’m a big fan of Anna Bishop Barker’s storytelling. Each book is a testament to her keen intelligence, her sharp wit, and her deep insight in the human psyche.

Home To Faithful is a book I can imagine myself reading again and again, like a kid eager to back on the roller coaster ride. This is definitely a must read for anyone who looks to be moved to the core.

OMG! Anna has written another FANTASTIC book!

I actually laughed, cried and got angry and this happened in the first half of the book. The story just got more intense as I continued reading. Sam finally decides to make his journey home to Faithful and back to Delilah but he wasn't sure she would want him. Delilah's story was totally heartbreaking and she wasn't sure Sam would want her after what she had been through.

Then there was the case of the missing children. I am thankful for happy endings. I am so happy that Sam and Delilah FINALLY got their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Anna! I would highly recommend this book.

I was given this book as an advanced review book for my honest opinion in return.

Home To Faithful, the second installment of the Faithful Trilogy of stories, was totally enthralling! I started as soon as I received my copy, continued reading it while on the treadmill, and finished it up while sitting in my vehicle, in the shade, in a quiet parking lot, completely oblivious to everything going on around me. I was only interrupted by sleep and a pesky thing called work (I left early). As with Journey To Faithful, Home To Faithful grabbed me at page one and didn’t let up until the epilogue was finished. So good! I completely fell in love with Sam. He is the man women dream of, not perfect by any means, but a good man not afraid to admit mistakes and work to make himself a better man. Delilah is amazing, convincing herself to take chances is a big step for her, a strong, courageous woman. And Faithful, lord a mighty, what a town! Love these people and how they care about and for each other, not short on piss and vinegar either! Heartbreaking yet hopeful, suspenseful, touching, humorous, steamy, this book – this series has it all! Highly recommended!

This is the second book in the trilogy and I am all ready on edge waiting for the third! Be prepared as you are taken back to Faithful but this time with Sam and Delilah. They've come full circle and not without major scars. Add in missing children, you not only have the rediscovery of love, but some drama too. Ms. Barker takes you through all the emotions, sometimes in one page. It's a rollercoaster, but one you happily stay on. It's emotional and real. You can taste the coconut pie and smell the lemon pine. Her words paint a picture of a quaint little town you want to visit and people you want to get to know. I look forward to more visits.

Thrilling, sizzling, hot and powerful are just some of the words that come to mind after reading Home to Faithful.

This book was one that I simply couldn’t put down and couldn’t wait to turn the next page to see what would come next. I laughed, I cried, I hurt and I rejoiced all through one book.

Sam and Delilah shared their first love, kiss and many others, but it wasn’t strong enough to keep them together as they departed High School and went their separate ways. Through Sam being in the Military and Delilah becoming the nurse she always wanted to be, somehow fate brought them both back to Faithful.

Will their first love be strong enough to see them through their battered pasts and the stress of Sam becoming the town Sheriff and finding the missing kids?

It’s a page turner for sure and one I can honestly say I hope you one click and join the love of this series just like the rest of us. I cannot wait to see the final installment for this series, the peek forward has me on my seat already waiting to turn those pages.

What can I say about this book? Second chance love for highschool sweethearts. Sam and Delilah have amazing chemistry and each have secrets. Once they get past the past (and trust me you will need tissues for the past and present) they are on fire!! Not to mention the suspense of the "who dun it"! It is a book you will stay up late to finish and mourn it when you are done.

I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review

Home is where the heart can it heal two wounded lovers

Ever wonder if you could go home again and would you be able to heal your wounded heart with a past love? For both Delilah and Sam Faithful is that place and it will heal both of them. Both were childhood sweethearts who go their separate ways, Sam to the Marines and Delilah to college to become a nurse each will have a tragedy to heal from 20 years later. But when they both come home to Faithful to stay it will take the people closest to them so they can find love again.

Everyday, minute, hour and seconds that goes by, a domestic violence and abuse happens to a women, child or man if you can survive it you're one of the lucky ones. But to build a new life with love again is something to treasure and hold close to your heart forever. With Sam it was the wounds of war and a rather brutal case with his previous job with the FBI.

Delilah's husband was the worst and with his anger came domestic violence. She lived in fear but when she decided enough was enough she called Jake from the only place that she felt safe and it's the people of Faithful who will love, protect and heal her. Working for both Jake and the health clinic on the Cherokee Reservation that has given her the strength she needs because when Sam decides to win Delilah back she'd better be ready because he's one determined Sheriff.

Sam is Faithful's new Sheriff and first case will have a young boy go missing while on vacation with his mother in the Great Smokey park. His mother is determined to find him as Marco is all she has left after her husband is killed in Afghanistan. Soon one child will soon be followed by another missing girl from the reservation. But it's a connection to Delilah that will solve the case bringing both children home to their parents and bring them both closures to begin their new life together.

I loved the innocence of Esther and can't wait for her story add in the tart tongue of Ms. Rhonda Valentine aka Tidbit that will have you in giggles throughout the story. I can't wait to read until next spring and the final book in the series next year. You'll love Home to Faithful as much as I did.

"Home to Faithful" is the second installment in the "Faithful Trilogy," and it's a more than worthy addition to the series. The first book, "Journey to Faithful," told the story of Jake and Laura, and now we finally get the story of Jake's brother, Sam, and his first love, Delilah. Sam played a pivotal role in rescuing Laura and the little glimpse we got of the big, bad FBI agent left me eager for more.

There's less of the characters Mercy and Grace in this book than the first (I love those old biddies!), but there were still scenes that made me snort. For example, when Sam asks his assistant, Rhonda (aka "Tidbit"), to make him some coffee, and then is afraid to drink it:

"I'm not sure if this will revive me or kill me."

When he asks her what she makes it with, she tells him: "The blood and tears of people who piss me the [f*] off. You should probably take note."

And then there are transcendently beautiful, tender moments between Sam and Delilah that left me lightheaded from holding my breath. The cello scene was so beautiful, I felt as if I were watching a movie, it was so vivid and poignant. Anna Bishop Barker writes beautifully emotional moments with a deft touch; effortlessly gorgeous love. (Once again, just like in "Journey to Faithful," I want you to love this book as much as I did, because these characters and this fictitious town is becoming so real to me, and it deserves your time and attention.)

The suspense in "Journey" builds over time gradually in a satisfying way, with no clichés to get in the way. Delilah's personal history is realistic, as is Sam's pain and frustration. All of Anna's characters are believable, compelling, and complex, and the town of Faithful is a place I feel really exists. I hope it won't be long before the next book comes out, and that I'll be lucky enough to receive another ARC!

Anna Bishop Barker and I have run in the same FB circles for a while, and I’d been watching her journey as an author for a while too. I’d been meaning to read her books (she’s now published four of them) for quite some time, but my TBR pile is daunting, to say the least. So, when I won a copy of the first two Faithful series books in a giveaway, I knew it was time to jump in. Besides, book three was due to come out soon, and you guys know I’m a series junkie, especially a romantic suspense series! In a nutshell, I’m impressed with this author’s talent. Her first book was a solid start, and I’ve already seen growth in her writing from book to book.

Home to Faithful: Obviously, I was intrigued about Sam from book one and where we’d see him end up regarding his career. And Delilah, as well. I’m a sucker for second-chance romances, so I dove in to see where this couple would end up. While he might be a bit clueless at times when it came to Delilah, and was definitely selfish as a young man (but aren’t we all?), Sam definitely turned out to be one of the great ones that you can’t help but go back to. I was rooting for him to man up and get his girl from the get-go. But Delilah’s past quite simply broke my heart. And the town itself was still trying to heal right along with these two characters. This book really pulled out all of the emotions. The amount of growth I saw in this author’s writing compared to book one was impressive. While I was able to put down book one at times, this one was harder to walk away from when I needed to adult (or sleep!).

I give Home to Faithful a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Home to Faithful is the second book in the Faithful Series written by the extremely talented Anna Bishop Barker. Sam and Delilah were initially introduced as supporting characters in her first book of the series, Journey to Faithful. This is their story. High school lovers who take different paths in life. Sam leaves home for adventure and to see the world. Delilah leaves home to escape the pain of her childhood. Sam returns home to settle down with one goal…to once again win the love of the only woman who has ever held his heart. This is a story about coming home. A home that is more than an address in a small town. Both learn that home is where your heart and soul are at peace and love preservers.
I highly recommend Home to Faithful. Home has it all: sexy hero who isn’t afraid to really love his woman; brave, beautiful heroine willing to give a lost love another chance; lots of humor, drama and suspense. Expertly written. Wonderfully romantic. Delightfully entertaining.
Love that she includes her story playlist. Listening to music while reading my happy place.
Anxiously awaiting the next installment.

I absolutely love this book! I am loving the whole series and can't wait for more!
You meet Sam and Delilah in the first novel in this series as support characters. Here in Home to Faithful we get their story and their very long awaited HEA. And Miss Anna did not disappoint me. She did an amazing job bringing them both to life on the page and creating such vivid characters. I love all the residents of Faithful Tennessee.
My followers know I am a sucker for the "second -chance" troupe. This couple has had a very long journey back to each other and back Home To Faithful. Miss Anna gives us their backstory at the beginning of the book; catching us up on their timeline and also completely hooking us into their story. And then she turns up the heat and the suspense, living up to her tagline "Romance with an edge." For real though, edge of your seat!

Some books do more than simply entertain... They share some intense emotions and deliver some deeper truths everyone needs to hear and believe.

Delilah had such strength and gentleness to her. A beauty and resilience that few can hang on to after surviving her past. Loved watching her learn to trust and let go and fall into Sam's arms.

I adored how Sam paid attention and straightened out his own head, and then put all his effort into pursuing and claiming Delilah for his own... Finally. His gentleness, his compassion, his strength, all poured off the pages. You could see and understand why he came back home, and it gives you a bigger respect for him to see him claim his place at home, and then claim his woman.

I love the hometown feel, the atmosphere, the townsfolk, the family, the whole world of Faithful. And I think the town name is perfect for what happens there.

So, add in a creepy storyline, some healing, laughter, heartache, and smiles, and you have an amazing story that, if you allow it to, can touch your heart and leave you with more than an epiphany.

I anticipated Anna’s new novel since I finished the first book in this series and in the end, it didn’t disappoint one bit.
Home to Faithful is such a well written book that combines perfectly a life-long love story (including some seriously hot sexy time) with serious topics and issues that are scarring the protagonists Sam and Delilah. It is honest and believable and just everything a book like this should be.
This second chances romance makes you swoon and laugh and cry and wanting to slap somebody for being an idiot and then swoon again in a matter of seconds / few pages.
Anna’s way of writing is witty as always and just so down to earth that it gives you the feeling to be there in the middle of it all.
Definitely already being impatient for the last one of this trilogy.
5* for this book and Anna! Loved it!!

I have been in a reading slump for a while and having a hard time finishing books even from my favorite authors. I finished Home to Faithful in about 5 hours start to finish and only got up to get a snack. I couldn’t put this book down...the story and characters just came off the page and drew me in. Anna Bishop Barker has a wonderful way of making you see the characters and places with her words. I thought there was a great balance of romance and suspense in the story and I want to know more about some of the secondary characters I met in this book. I can’t wait for part three of the trilogy and I highly recommend this book and the first, Journey to Faithful, to anyone who wants an amazing read!

So many emotions!

There are many words clamoring for top spot that I am virtually speechless.
Anna Bishop Barker has pulled out all the feels and sent me through the wringer with this book. Sam and Delilah have overcome so much to be together and deserve every happiness. I loved their story and the twists it took. The character who stole my heart wasn't the dog as I thought it would be. I loved Beaker. But little Mark was everything a hero should be. Thank you Anna for writing such am amazing set of characters that includes a young child with the heroism that isn't found in a lot of adults.
I can't wait for the next book, I know it will be as or more amazing than the first two have been.

Home to Faithful is the second book of a romantic suspense trilogy; it does stand on it’s own, however reading Journey to Faithful will introduce you to the characters in this book. The storyline from Journey is also mentioned in Home, so having a background helps. I really loved the story between Sam and Delilah, however there may be triggers due to issues in Delilah’s past. The story is told from multiple points of view; both from Sam and Delilah, as well as from some secondary characters. There is humor, chaos, love, loss, and life in this book; kind of like real life. I am eagerly awaiting Faithful Peace, due out in 2019.

Just Brilliant!!

I love romance novels, but not just any kind. I like the ones with a great plot, a little bit of suspense and a lot of hot steamy...well, you get the idea. But above all else, I need good writing. I need writing that keeps me interested and doesn’t frustrate me with poorly constructed sentences that I have to read more than once just to follow. Basically, I need Anna!! This book is just simply perfect in the beautiful story telling and the way the author brings the past and the present together. Just an awesome HEA.

The feels!

Anna Bishop Barker is such a great author that I can't believe this is only her 2nd book! I can't wait for the third one! Sam and Delilah grabbed onto my heart and wouldn't let go. They brought out the "feels". And the side story of suspense... It kept me wondering the whole time. I could not put this book down! I found myself highly irritated whenever someone interrupted my reading time! If you enjoy romantic suspense, READ THIS BOOK! IT'S JUST TOO GOOD!

Sam and Delilah's story is one you need to read with Kleenex and a glass of wine. Heart wrenching storyline, beautifully written characters and so full of emotions makes this book a 5 star read. From the opening pages to the very last page this story captivates the reader into hoping these two characters finally get their HEA. Throw in missing children and you will not be able to put it down. Cannot wait for more in this series.

A wonderful second chance story. Thing has certainly changed for both Sam and Delilah since they were last together. They both have been through many things in the long time they have been apart but the draw to one another is still very strong. Can they leave the past in the past and move forward with the love and feelings that still burn strong regardless of the long absence? Is there a new life for them together in Faithful?

Absolutely a 5 star book! This author has a fantastic way of delivering awesome one-liners, terrific romantic dialogue, as well as enduring you to all the characters, not just the main characters, Sam and Delilah. You become very attached to the folks in Faithful. I couldn't put the book down and gladly gave up some sleep to spend more time with this fantastic book. ❤️

Second time around is sooo much better!

Home to Faithful is by far the best Anna has written so far! She gives us it all....the angst, the journey back to each other, some suspense, some humor and of course the hotness factor!

Looking forward to the final installment of the triology.
