An all-girls vampire camping trip turns deadly when a sasquatch hunter is accidentally killed.
All Esma Siban wants this summer is to stay out of her stepmother's way. When her stepsister, Morgan, suggests a road trip to Oregon to visit a friend from high school, Esma jumps on the idea. A camping trip sounds like the perfect way to help Esma recover from breaking up with her boyfriend. But when Esma and Morgan encounter a stalker, Esma's fangs come out. The death of a Sasquatch hunter wasn't on their itinerary. A terrified Esma is unsure what to do next, so she texts her ex-boyfriend for help.
Chase Wheeler feels like the biggest fool on the football team. The entire time he was dating Esma, he had no idea she was a vampire. In high school Chase did exactly what Esma told him to. He let Esma plan their dates, pick his wardrobe, and even pack his lunches. Now Chase has a month left before he starts college to forget the girl who froze his heart.
When Chase lands an internship on the popular radio talk show Fred Head, he finds his voice and charts a future that doesn't involve domineering girlfriends. But all it takes is one text from Esma and Chase runs back to her waiting arms. Chase finds the courage to tell Esma that he's through with being bossed around right when Esma realizes that she desperately needs Chase's input. The only way home from this camping trip is to be bitten or smitten.
Louise Cypress believes in friendship, true love, and the everlasting power of books. She has never met a vampire, but she has been to a Love Sucks concert on Valentine’s Day. Louise can often be found curled up with a romance novel on Saturday night, diet soda in hand, secretly wishing bustles were back in fashion. Louise lives in San Diego, California, where the beach is crowded and summer is immortal.
This is the second book in this teen/ya series and I can honestly say it works well as a standalone as I enjoyed it even though I haven't read the first book yet! After a vampire attack at a High School Prom, Chase Wheeler discovered that Esma, his girlfriend, is actually a vampire, though one who doesn't drink human blood. It isn't the fact that she's a vampire that causes him to "dump" her but the fact that for the two years they've been together she never told him. Now they're both trying to get on with their lives apart. She's going on a camping trip with a couple of girl friends whilst he's enjoying his internship on a radio show . . . . little do they anticipate the girls will need his help when they encounter a hunter, his prey (a sasquatch) and danger as they try to rescue him!
This is a paranormal high school adventure and romance with great characters, difficult parent/child relationships, and so much more. The sasquatch is a very different and engaging character in his own right - I'd never read a story with one as a key character before! So get ready for humans, vampires, slayers and more in this engaging adventure! I'm definitely tempted to read the first and third book in this series after finishing this one . . . I know, typical for me to read the second book first!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book without obligation and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
The Story: Hunt Me is the second book in The Puritan Coven Series and this one is centred more around Esme and Chase, and in turn narrated from their points of view. The story is set a few months after the events of the Promagedden, and the girls Esme, Morgan and Cassandra decided they need a break and head on a all girls vampire camping trip. I mean what could possibly go wrong?
This was good to see things from Esme's point of view with the characters from the first book still making an appearance. There was quite a bit of humour in this book making it a light-hearted read. It can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend you read the first book to get a feel for the other characters and a feel for Esme as a secondary character.Cant wait for book three to see where it will take us!
The Narration: Reba Buhr and Alexander Cendese are back and I am so glad they are narrating the whole series. They are perfect for these characters and once again the duel narration really added more depth to the story and they flowed between the characters and they manged to captured the humour, tension and danger flawlessly.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Louise Cypress. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
Hunt Me is the second book in the Puritan Coven series. This one focuses on Esma and Chase. It picks up a couple of months after the events of the first book Bite Me. It's a few weeks before college starts and Esma and Morgan head off on a girls only camping trip. Of course things don't go as smoothly as planned. I would highly recommend reading the first book before this one to get a better understanding of the way the vampire world works in this series. I really enjoyed this second one. It still had all of the humor and campiness that I loved in the first book. It was fun to see Esma's perspective this time around. We also get a glimpse of a paranormal world other than just the vampires. My only wish was that we got more of Chase and Esma together. I thought Chase was a bit harsh on Esma for the secret that she kept from him. It was a bit frustrating. But, I was rooting for them. THis is a really fun and clean series that I highly recommend, This audio version is narrated by the same narrators in Bite Me. I really love their voices. I am looking forward to reading the last book, Slay Me.
Such a good Book! I was going through a mini reading slump, nothing was holding my interest until I decided to pick this one up. I am not one to pick up a book to only read a chapter when I'm able to, but with my crazy work schedule it's what I found myself doing just to get more time in to read this book, even if it was small amounts. I was hooked.
Book one follows Morgan and Van, but this one follows Esma and Chase. I really enjoyed being able to see all the same characters but be able to follow new minds and get to know them a little better.
This book is full of suspense in many kinds and such a sweet romance to boot. I found myself smiling wide during the ending and even flipped back a few pages to read it again.
I am so glad I found this series and can't get to get my hands on book 3!
Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live, Hunt Me is the second book in the series, and even though we have characters from book one. This story is narrated from Chase and Esme point of view, who broke up when Chase found out Esme is a vampire, and she hadn’t told him in the two years they were dating. After all the aftermath of Promagedden, the girls decide to go camping, no boys allowed. They may not be boys on the trip, but they run into Barney a 7ft Sasquatch on the run from two Vampire covens. Well you can imagine the funny goings on. Meanwhile back at home Chase is interning with Fred Head on the radio. This is hilarious we all the supernatural crackpots being debunked. I think I enjoyed this more as we knew all the characters. I love the male voices the narrators were great. The females seemed boring in comparison.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Louise Cypress. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
A fun follow up to Bite Me. The author changed up the two point of view characters so Chase and Esme are now front and center. Van and Morgan still play important roles, but we don't get into their heads. It's helpful to read Bite Me first, but this book can stand alone with a completely different plot focused on Sasquatches rather than vampires. And there are enough reminders from book 1 that the reader would easily be able to figure Chase and Esme's world.
Loved this book. A little predictable but I didn't mind. It was a good story with a little adventure and good characters! Now to find a fury sasquatch of my own like Barney!
What started off as an all girl's camping out trip ended up turning into a dangerous adventure for Esma, Morgan and Cassandra along with Chase and Van.
Barney, the sasquatch, is simply adorable.
Hunt Me is a delightful story of puritans, vampires, slayers, humans, sasquatch and the vicious Golden Girls. Loved all the characters!
In this comical three-book series, Cypress explores the depth of friendship, intimacy…and the undead. If you were forced to tell the one person who truly cared about you that you were a vampire, could you do it? You would be chancing that person would still want to be with you even though you lied to them for your entire relationship—and the obvious, you know—that you’re dead. And…you would have to think about them telling others your secret. Cypress has some of the classic lore intertwined with some original scenes in the mix, making the second installment in this series one that will be hard for readers to put down.
Esma is a Puritan, which means that she does not feed on human blood. In actuality, she has never had the desire for human blood...since becoming a vampire. Now with the purity test behind her and her vampire stepsister in tow, she must learn how to live with the ramifications of prom night. Her boyfriend—or rather ex-boyfriend now—can’t even look at her after that horrible night of blood, gore, and death. What was supposed to be one of the best nights of her teenage life will forever haunt her thanks to mommy dearest. Cassandra Xander decides to take it upon herself to give the girls a break before college and plan a road trip for them all. Thinking that this would be a fun way to relax and get some much needed girl time, the trip takes a couple of sharp turns and they wind up with a Sasquatch. Yes…a Sasquatch. With Sasquatch being friendly and all, they have an easy enough time rescuing him from a hunter in the woods, but that was an amateur. Sasquatch are usually always pets of other vampires. Esma may be forced to ask the only person—besides the parents—who knows who she is for help, but Chase might not want anything to do with her and then they would be left stranded in an unknown forest with some creepy vampire owners on their trail. What will they do when they are faced with hunters who are not only faster, but stronger and angry because someone stole their Sasquatch?
Cypress has a terrific story-line, filled with creativity, originality and fascinating characters. The pace is very quick, but easy to follow and enjoyable. The story appears to be written fairly well and both narrators, Cendese and Buhr, are able to captivate their audience with their vocal differentiation and tone. This installment does not spare the drama that goes on in a teenager’s life, but it is meant to be satirical and geared toward a young adult audience. With that being mentioned, there are some scenes that appear childish but the intention is that it is from a teenager’s point of view. If you are a reader of young adult and paranormal romance, this may be a good fit. This is the second installment in the Puritan Coven Series; therefore, it is recommended for the reader to start from the beginning. While the second book focuses on a different main character, it is still a direct continuance from the previous story-line.
An audiobook was provided to Turning Another Page by Audiobookworm Promotions and in no way affects the honesty of this review. We provide a five-star rating to Hunt Me by Louise Cypress.
Hello Book 2! I love this series! It has so much to offer and I cannot wait to discover book 3!
“Hunt Me” left me wanting more. I was in awe of that ending. Actually, the entire book was awesome! Now reading Esma’s story completes the picture. Entertaining, but somehow in a different way, “Bite Me” is at least as gripping as the first book in the series. We have a different type of action, with a funny creature in the mix. Great, I tell ya!
Esma has been living the life of a puritan vampire – no drinking blood, especially human. When her boyfriend learns of her true identity, both their lives shatter. A relationship that seemed perfect in book one is now analyzed from both perspectives. There is also a deeper analysis into Esma’s life and the pressure she lives under. Chase is now trying to find a purpose and start building his future. His relationship with Esma was his stability. When this shatters, he is lost.
However much I may love the book, I still have to point out some things. There is a lot of teenage drama here. We have parents not paying close attention to their children, one trying to capture the attention of her friend’s ex… teenage problems. Well, Chase’s apparent dependence on Esma is somehow off. I liked it, but it’s a rather serious thing among less serious ones.
The narration was amazing, as I would have expected, after listening to book 1. If initially I had an issue with Alexander Cendese’s interpretation, this time it didn’t sound as shouted as in “Hunt Me” or as “newsy”. Reba Buhr – nice, clean and beautiful!
All in all, this book made me feel good! It came at a perfect time. If you are in need of a story that can keep you captivated and make you smile from time to time, this is it. I cannot wait to read book 3, as it contains Cassandra’s story. Loved it, 5 stars!
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Louise Cypress. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
1. I didn't like Cassandra, and that's why I won't be reading the third installment of this series. Even after realizing she shouldn't be flirting and going after her friend's ex-boyfriend (and her excuse was totally unconvincing to begin with), she STILL flirted with Chase and tried to be alone with him. That's really cheesy and makes her a total bitch. Plus she was annoying and acted like a 9 year old rather than a 15/16 year old. Grow up.
2. Chase went on and on and ON about how Esma controlled his whole life and she never let him do anything (but taking control of his OWN life instead of blaming it on someone else? NOPE!) and he didn't want to see or talk to her or have anything to do with her, and then at the end he's like "I can't live without you." Uhhhh what. Literally the whole damn book he complained about her and repeated time and again how he wanted to get away from her. He was a real jackass, and I couldn't believe he was still Esma's "love interest" by the end of the book. He didn't ACT like a love interest. Honestly, he acted like a dude that would get all butthurt because a girl didn't smile at him enough.
3. The plot was uninteresting. The dialogue was uninteresting. The pace was so...fucking...slow. Nothing of interest happened. I almost stopped reading 4 different times.
4. What is the POINT of being a vampire if you literally cannot do a single interesting thing to save yourself. Esma and Morgan were useless. Van saved them on more than one occasion. (Really? The Men still need to save the day here? No thanks.) Like, Esma...you're a vampire...? You're supposed to be strong and fast and, I don't know, SUPERNATURAL!?? But instead she could do absolutely nothing that a human couldn't, so why not just make her human since her existence as a vampire was a total waste.

Hunt Me picks up from where it left off in the first book, but can be read as a standalone. The author recaps the main events of the disaster of the Promegadon which gives a good overview of what happened that night. Chase and Esma are the main characters in this story.
Chase and Esma have been dating for a couple of years, but Chase was unaware of Esma's true nature. On finding out, he takes it as a betrayal and breaks up with Esma.
Cassandra is from a family of vampire slayers and is friendly with Esma and her stepsister, Morgan. She organises a camping trip for the three of them to help Esma get over the breakup. Girls only!
Chase is interning as an assistant radio host with Al, Cassandra's father who is a vampire slayer. Someone reports a missing Sasquatch being hunted, everyone takes it as a joke except for Al.
The girls are enjoying their trip until they come across the Sasquatch and the accidental death of his hunter. They are quite taken by the Sasquatch and sets about returning him to his family, then strange things start to happen. They are attacked by blood thirsty vampires and Esma resorts to contacting Chase. Even though, they are no longer together, he comes to the rescue.
Although he behaves indiffently towards Esma, the feelings between them are still alive, but Chase is intent on a new start. When more danger appears in the most unlikely form of other campers, their first instinct is to protect each other. Can Chase forgive Esma for her omission?
This is an easy to read paranormal young adult romance with plenty of adventure. "Barney" captured my heart! I quite liked Cassandra in the first book, but her behaviour is quite irritating in some parts of this story. It's also good to catch up with Van and Morgan. I like Esma's reasoning for her behaviour towards Chase. Despite all their differences, they make a sweet couple. I enjoyed the storyline and would like to see what comes next.
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
Hunt Me by Louise Cypress starts after Promageddon. Lies have been told to protect the humans from knowing that Vampires are real and attacked the prom. Chase has dumped Esma for lying to him by concealing the fact that she was a vampire from him. He doesn’t want to listen to her explanations and just felt betrayed. This book seems to be Esma and Chase story, switching between the characters. Chase is growing up as a person, discovering who he wants to be, and what he might want to do with his life now that he doesn’t have Esma running it for him. Esma lets herself be talked into a camping trip with Cassandra and Morgan to get away from her father and Susan in their newlywed bliss. The trip turns out to have a few more adventures than they were expecting and Esma is forced to call in Chase for help. Will they rekindle their long term romance, or will Chase just ride to the rescue one last time and then vanish for good. Fans of vampires, road trips, and adventure should give this series a chance. The book is a fast paced adventure with a few unexpected twists.
Story: 5 Narration: 5 Overall:5 Hunt Me is the second book in The Puritan Coven series. After listening to Bite Me, I was excited to listen to more books in the series. I thought I would listen to this audiobook at a normal pace of a couple of days. I listened to this whole audiobook in one sitting, only pausing to answer the phone or door. This was a fantastic addition to this Young Adult series and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I loved the plot of an all-girls camping trip with a difference. Two of the girls were Vampires and one was the youngest in a family of slayers. Despite their differences the girls are friends. This is aided by the fact that Esma and Morgan as Puritans have sworn off of using humans as a food source. The trip takes an interesting turn when a Sasquatch changes all of their plans. The humorous story-line has mild horror and a great plot which is narrated by the hugely talented Reba Buhr and Alexander Cendese. once again their narration captured the humour, tension and danger, all the while giving distinct voices to the array of characters.

As a lover of vampire books, I was so ready to start this book. The main character of this book Esma seems like your normal teenager, but you quickly learn after a prom gone wrong she is anything but normal. With her summer coming to an end, trying to get over her break up, Esma and 2 friends go on a road trip. But when two vampires and a slayer go on a road trip..what could go wrong? Well the girls learn real quick that vampires attract problems..even big harry, smelly ones. On their quest to help their new furry friend, these girls and a few others that come to the rescue learn it's not easy trying to help their new friend and other vampires can be dangerous. But this group is determined to make things right with a few surprises along the way. I can't wait to read the other books in this series by Louise Cypress.

Thanks to the author for the ARC in exchange for honest review.
Well, this is my first book from this series, obviously, it's a paranormal romance. The story started with the ending of a promo, a slaughter of blood has happened, friends are eating friends and everyone has lost conscience. Esma saved Chase, his boyfriend, away from the scene. Chase wasn't aware that Esma was a vampire and after the accident happened, Chase decide he should break up with Esma since she is not being honest with him.
I don't normally read paranormal romance but when it comes with a vampire [ put me on the list !] At first I don't really get the story and do not understand what is going on. So I would suggest to read from book 1. I do like the story and find it quite interesting. 3.9 stars for me.
I received a free arc for an honest review. The only reason I gave this one 4 stars is because Morgan's mother, Susan, irks me to the bone. I don't see what Lukas sees in her but who am I to judge? I loved being able to see the inner workings of Esma's mind and seeing that Chase is more than a really tall dude who seemed to be at Esma's beck and call. I understand Esma more and I think I might like her more than Morgan. I also liked that there was more of Cassandra, Van, and their dad in this one too. The storyline was entertaining and adventurous, not to mention funny. This series is a must-read to anyone who loves vampire books with clean romance.
There's nothing like the great outdoors, especially when you're Glamping. Cassandra organizes a girls trip in a refurbished camper, which seems like a good idea at the time. Unfortunately, Esma is missing Chase and Morgan is missing Van. Plus, there seems to be a missing Sasquatch on the loose, with more than one person on it's trail. What could go wrong in this scenario? A perfect read about how not to spend your summer vacation.
This was an excellent follow up in the new Puritan vampire series! I really enjoyed watching the relationships change and adapt to the new circumstances my favorite characters found themselves in. I can't wait until the next book comes out! My new favorite teen vampire books :-) **I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
This book is Esma's story but to be truthful it involves the whole gang. We get introduced to Barney, who I love. He is a sasquatch on the run. Very fun read and it would have been one-sitting read if dang life hadn't interrupted me. It has a Buffyverse type feel to the story and characters. I received an ebook at no charge for which I voluntarily provided an honest review.
This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story. This is a wonderful addition to the series and I loved it. I love book that has to do with vampires and this one is no exception it is a wonderful book and I recommend this to all.
Four stars for the storytelling and strong characters. I loved Barney, when you hear stories of big foot. I have never heard of one causing harm, they run away. I don't think they are dangerous if they exist.
This book was also very cute. It remains a different kind of vampire story, with the addition of sasquatches, and plenty of humor and originality. The story is clean and appropriate for younger readers. This was a worthwhile, very entertaining read.
A pop-up trailer. A camping trip. A sasquach. Death in the woods. Girls in trouble. Damaged car. Canada. Vampires attack. Little old ladies. A hostage. Sonar rescue. Wonderful story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was an awesome follow up to the first book. This story is told for Esma and Chase, but includes the whole gang. Like this version of vampires. I can't wait to see what is next!!!
BOOK 1: A nerdy high school senior transforms into a vampire vixen who's unaware that her hunky date for prom is the slayer sent to destroy her. BOOK 2: BOOK 3: GOOD SERIES MRS.C
I love getting these books that are connected...Some time has passed since the deadly prom...& our characters are trying to get through the summer. In this installment, we take a closer look at Chase and Esme’s relationship. When an all-girls camping trip takes a turn towards the dangerous, there’s no one else to turn to for help... From evil vampires to cuddly sachquaches, will they make it out alive? Truths are told, love is found and evil meets its match.
What could possibly go wrong when a slayer’s daughter goes camping with two vampires? Hunt Me by Louise Cypress is fabulous, I devoured. I read it in three days and I am still impressed with the whole little world that Ms. Cypress has created. In this book, we learn a lot more about how the vampires live and if they have any pets or not. We see the two main characters points of view. Chase The first main character in this book is Chase. We met Chase in Bite Me as the boyfriend of Esma and that he was like a typical jock. Now we see him in a different light after what happened in the first book. He is actually more than just a jock and more than just Esma’s boyfriend. He is pretty funny and very protective. He’s also very confused about his future but is making good progress on figuring some things out. What I like about Chase is that his attitude has changed and we can see that he has a good heart. What I didn’t like about Chase was that he didn't want to be with Esma anymore. But things don't always go as we plan them. Esma The other main character in this book is Esma. We met Esma in Bite Me as the daughter of Lukas that in dating, Morgan’s mom, Susan. The way Esma comes off in the last book is like a total ice queen and not someone that can be depended on. However, if you know of her secret then she will be there. Just like with Chase we see her in a different light. Well kind of. She’s still an ice queen but we also see more of her personality. She really cares for some people especially Chase and can be a really friendly person. What I like about Esma is that she’s not your typical blondie, you know the airhead with only thoughts of make-up and such. She’s really smart and kind. She also doesn’t want to hurt anyone by telling them the truth. What I don’t like about Esma is that she thinks that she is exactly like her mom. This gives her low self-esteem and she doubts herself. Bad Guy Just like with Bite Me I can’t really reveal much about the bad guy in this book since it was a total shocker for me again with this book. I just have to say that you have to read Hunt Me by Louise Cypress to find out. Five Stars Hunt Me by Louise Cypress is a wonderful book and oh so good. Ms. Cypress did another great job with this book. I especially like how she shows the two different personalities of Esma and Chase along with who the bad guys are in this book. The camping parts of the book and Barney are also some of my favorites.
I am giving this book a five-star review as it was such an exceptional book which kept me guessing and laughing throughout.
Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by
