The Creeper needs to make a comeback under King's writing. But now, he's struggling to help people because women just kick him senseless whenever he tries to save them (I mean, with that name and that laugh, who wouldn't think he's the weirdest sexual predator Gotham has to offer??)

”The Puzzle of the Pyramids” starts with:

Little did he suspect the sinister chain of events which would force an appearance by Robin the Teen Wonder….

Since when do you have to ‘force’ an appearance by Robin? He jumps into his costume on his lunch breaks!

Clark Kent is doing a news feature at Hudson University and asking student Dick Grayson what is going on?

The students are moving bricks across campus in a competition to build a pyramid the fastest. Obviously this is a slow news day in Metropolis.

That night, Dick is watching the contest on the graveyard shift when a pyramid collapses on a student.

Dick helps dig the student out, but then hears a burglar alarm in one of the halls. So to hell with that kid, when he can change into Robin!

Running into the building with the alarm Robin runs at a flashlight, but it’s a trick - just a flashlight sitting on some boxes. Which earns Robin a brick in the back of the head.

Chief McDonald wakes up Robin. The crooks got away with the Holographs. Robin asks if they ever dug to the kid out of the bricks? Nope. Still digging.

”I’ll never understand that kid! Always runnin’s off someplace!”

Robin confronts Fred Taylor in his Junior Woodchucks t-shirt and the chase is on!

”I may not be faster than a speeding bullet, but I get going when I have to!”

Clark Kent calls Dick later to get some follow-up on the pyramid building.

”Clark…have I got a story for you! ”

Another fun campus caper that no one is suspicious of!

It kind of does foreshadow his relationship to Superman as well.

The art by Martinez & Mazzroli is exceptionally good.

It's always a delight to read a classic Batman comic, especially one with a detective-style plot; classic and simple comics will never go out of style.
