Love burns white-hot in this first scorching romance in an all-new trilogy about a family of firefighters from the New York Times bestselling author of the Play-by-Play novels and the Hope series.

Firefighter Jackson Donovan doesn't look back—as a rule. So when his past comes roaring back to life in the form of not-so-damsel-in-distress Becks Benning, the last thing he want

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

The first in a new series following three firefighting brothers, Hot to the Touch was a steamy fast paced read. After his parents were killed in a car accident, Jackson was sent into the system, only to become a teenager living on the streets. He finds himself a sort of leader trying to take care of kids younger than him but really bonds with two other boys, Raf

Hot to the Touch by Jaci Burton is a brand new series about firefighters #yum 🔥

The story begins in the past. Jackson gets caught in a house fire after seeking shelter for the night with his foster brothers, Rafe and Kal. The brothers make it and are saved... This pivotal point drives them to become firefighters. As a twist of fate, they are adopted by the firefighter who saved them. 👨🏼🚒

Present day, they're on their way to a call when Jackson--our hero--comes face to face with his past. B

Well, it's a spot weird reading a book that's not from Burton's Play-by-Play series. But, oh, firefighters. I can get on board with that!

The Gist: Jackson and his brothers have arrived at a business fire only to find the owner was a girl they knew as kids. And, well, they decide to take her home with them. *nods*

I liked Jackson and Becks. They've had interesting and difficult lives but turned into pretty great people. Hardworking, dedicated, caring. A bit damaged from the past but not broken. Th

I received this book as an ARC from the Penguin Random House First to Read program. This was actually my first Jaci Burton book but I love a good firefighter romance so I thought I would give it a read.

Jackson and Becks knew each other when they were younger, Jackson was the leader of their group of homeless kids. The group got separated during a storm and Jackson and his two brothers took refuge in an abandoned house. The boys all woke up to the house being on fire and firefighters co

This was 3.5-star read.
It's a good story and the characters are interesting, but I kept feeling like I've read this story before. Burton is a solid writer and I've enjoyed other books by her, but a lot of the scenes in Hot to the Touch felt repetitive. Between the plot seeming familiar and entire scenes being basic copies of each other, reading this felt a bit like a chore. Even a love of firefighters and a soft spot for orphans couldn't save it.
I will say that it's obvious that the author did

I enjoyed the book toward the end but it took me a long time to connect with the main characters. They spent a lot of time talking about how hard it was for them to get close to anyone but their actions showed how easily they developed relationships and fell in lust with each other. I'm not quite sure I ever bought that they were in love with each other until the very end, despite knowing that I was supposed to be believing it throughout the book. The sex scenes were hot and I would pick up anot ...more

I received an advanced copy of this from First to Read in exchange for an honest review.

I picked this book on a whim from First to Read, having never read any other Jaci Burton books before. I was very pleasantly surprised!! This is definitely a romance book, but it also delved briefly into deeper issues, like youth homelessness. I enjoyed the steamy romance scenes and the hot firefighters! The female lead was strong and independent, but could have used more depth into her background. Overall,

This is the first book in the Brotherhood By Fire series and the first book by Jaci Burton that I have read. I enjoyed it immensely and had a hard time putting it down. The plot was engaging and moved along at a steady pace.

This book introduces the three Donovan brothers who are not really brothers, but grew up together homeless until they were adopted by Josh and Laurel Donovan. Josh is a firefighter who rescued the boys from an abandoned house that caught fire. Now they are all grown up and ha

LOVED. LOVED. LOVED! Jaci Burton's newest series is off to an amazing start with Jackson and Becks. Having once been homeless on the streets together, Becks and Jackson are reunited when her shop catches fire. Before you know it, his brothers (by heart, not by blood), have welcomed her into their home. Jackson doesn't know how to deal with this blast from his past - a past he's done everything in his power to keep down.

This book literally had everything. It h

Living My Best Book Life
Hot to the Touch was scorching HOT! This is my first time reading Jaci Burton and I am so impressed. I love a romance that has depth to it and this book had it all. Sexy firefighters. Sassy heroine. Family aspect. And the best part is that it was a story of overcoming the many obstacles that life throws our way.

The blurb was so intriguing and after reading the prologue I was hooked. Jackson Donovan was a young kid living on the streets. They were foster kids but realized that being together was

Okay, If you are like me, I think knowing that this story has men in uniform should be enough, but if it isn't let me tell you some more about it. Jackson and his two brothers used to live on the street and one night after a house they were hiding in caught fire the firefighter who responded not only saved them from the fire but also from the streets. Who doesn’t love hot firefighters? After over 15 years of separation, Becks is united with her childhood friends the Donovan brothers. When she knew them last, they were all homeless adolescents living on the streets as their own sort of family caring for and protecting each other. One of the brothers was her first crush years ago and her feelings threaten to resurface.

Homelessness, foster care and growing up on the streets are topics that hover just below the surface of this hot romance by Jaci Burton. Firefighter Jackson Donovan and his two brothers were adopted by a New York firefighter many years ago and have stayed together through thick and thin. Once I got past the "coincidence" of them saving a fellow street urchin, Becks, now all grown up, from a fire in her warehouse, I enjoyed the ride. "Hot to the Touch" was a sizzling and emotional romance. The book begins with a bang- Becks is trying to get her equipment out through the smoke when a firefighter comes and throws her over his shoulder. Becks works as a tattoo artist and lives in the apartment above the shop. As she is being treated, she realizes three of the firefighters are boys that she had know when she was a pre-teen, living on the streets. They were a family of sorts, and when they had disappeared, she never knew what hap ...more

I always enjoy reading Jaci Burton. This is the first in her new series about three firefighting foster brothers. I loved the found family aspects in this book. For fans of contemporary romance, I think you’ll find it enjoyable - a quick read with just enough angst and romance.

It centers around the Donovan brothers - Jackson, Rafe and Kal. The first book focuses on Jackson and Becks, whom he knew when he was young until a fire separated them. I've read a lot of Jaci Burton's books from her Play-by-Play series. But since they all revolve around sports, this one is about firefighters and orphans. Jackson was an orphan who got caught in a fire. He was rescued by a firefighter, who adopted him and his (not by blood, but also orphans) brothers Kal and Rafe.
So now, Jackson and his brothers work alongside with their adoptive father. One day they rescue a woman from a burning tattoo shop. It turns out to be one of the orphans they lived wit

Thank you to First to Read for the ARC of Hot to the Touch. I’ve enjoyed previous books by Jaci Burton but it has been a long time since I’ve read one and I don’t know why. Hot to the Touch reminded me of what I was missing. In it we meet Becks, Jackson, Rafe and Kal (Jackson’s brothers). The four of them have a shared past as, in their youth, they were homeless and living on the streets. Events took them in different directions but Becks never forgot Jackson, her first crush. Hot to the Touch is a pretty good read. I like that, while this is very much a romance book, it touches on some heavier topics like teen homelessness and the foster care system. These elements make Hot to the Touch stand out as a more unique story. From a romance standpoint, the relationship between Jackson & Becca was sweet, but she did veer into being too pushy about his past quite often. Overall this was a decent story that held my attention throughout, so if you’re looking for a firefigh ...more

Jaci Burton knows how to write romance, I fell in love with her books with Play-By-Play series and then The Hope Series. I have always enjoyed Jaci Burton's books but was glad to see her step into a new setting outside of sports. Writing fun romance with a fire house setting really worked. There was just enough romance and drama to keep the book interesting. It was interesting how the story delved into juvenile homelessness and the foster care system. Jaci Burton is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling, award-winning author of over 70 books. She lives in Oklahoma and when she isn’t on deadline (which is often), she can usually be found wrestling with her uncooperative garden, wrangling her dogs, watching an unhealthy amount of television, or completely losing track of time reading a great book.
