A siren who's terrified of the ocean...with a destiny that involves a hunky shirtless dude.

Ever meet a mermaid terrified of the ocean? The closest I get to saltwater is in my bath.

As for singing? My siren heritage left me with a killer voice. Literally. Some people can charm animals out of trees. Me? They jump to their deaths rather than listen to another note.

I know I’

Siren Misfit by Eve Langlais

2nd in the Misfit series. Can be read without having read the first book because there is a LOT of backstory in this one. Mostly the first third of the pages are herstory and explaining but it moves quickly and gives a good sense of who Lana is and when she first met Jory.

Lots of humor. Strong snark and personality of both Lana and Jory.
Amusing and wonderful.
The lesson for Lana: be the one you’re meant to be.

Excerpt of typical humor:

To read the whole review:

This was a quick listen, I think less than 4 hours on regular speed. This one starts out with a kidnapping and rescue that goes awry, sort of. She meets Jory during this rescue. At this point we also get the back story from the Hybrid Misfit so you can read this one as a stand alone. Turns out her best friend is a queen, kind of. Anyway it’s a little confusing what with them splicing mermaid and siren genes; bunny and werewolf; an

Poor Lana! Half siren, half mermaid, and deathly afraid of the ocean! Her salt water tub soaks are as close as she can get to soothing herself, but still the briny deep seems to call her to her death. Her nightmares are getting worse, so when a message arrives from the Sirens wanting to meet with her, she has to overcome her fears to go to them.

After the battle in Limbo, Lana now has a new admirer in Valhalla warrior, Jory. Not that she has any interest in the hunky man who beats down her door

Sometimes I feel like every time I pick up a new Langlais book I think “ooh, this one is my favorite now!” That’s at least true for The Misfits. I picked up Hybrid Misfit before I dug into this one, and both were fantastic. Langlais explores the idea of experimentation and identity, and Siren Misfit dives even deeper to look at family and belonging. Lana, the half-siren, half-mermaid, doesn’t know how someone like her can exist. Sirens live on land, mermaids in the water. But she’s not about to ...more

Siren Misfit (The Misfits Book 2l by Eve LANGAIS

Absolutely entertaining addition to this series by Eve LANGAIS. This second book brings more information about how, what, where and who that started in the first book Hybrid Misfit. It gives more light on Lana and her circumstances that make her a misfit because she's still in the dark about many unanswered questions that led her to being the way she is or isn't. You're going to enjoy the craziness and by play between her and Joey plus the surprises

Enjoyable and entertaining read

Even though I enjoyed this book I felt like it was lacking something. The first book in the series was amazing had plenty of action which kept you hooked from beginning to end. I also felt like this story was way too short even though we get a HEA, there was still kinda of a cliffhanger feel to it especially on who created the hybrids. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.

Siren Misfit

A great, fun and crazy story of a misfit mermaid/siren, named Lana, who finds a sexy son of a God, named Jory, during a battle in Limbo. On the way to meet other sirens who live on an island, all hell breaks loose and these two must fight for their survival. Love it !!💘

Great read

Really enjoyed this and it only keeps getting better. Eve Langlais has been one of my favorite writers for a long time now and this book as well as Hybrid Misfit have not changed that judgement. Every time I read her books, her strong, but imperfect, heroines and humor dictate that I just cannot put them down and usually leave me hungry for more

Unique and entertaining

I LOVED hybrid misfit, and Siren Misfit was just as awesome. Jory and Lana are both so hardheaded, stubborn, and snarky; together they’re a hilarious, sexy, badass team. The storyline was intense and unique, grabbing hold of my attention and sucking me in until the final page. Definite 5 stars, can’t wait for Claire’s story!

After reading the first book in this series, I knew that reading the second was a major option. Fun stuff and an interesting concept. Ready for the next book in this series!😀

Loved the interaction between Lana and Jory which is enhanced by the great plotline that unfolds.
These two together had great chemistry right from the start which Lana does her best to deny.
I had to warm up to Jory due to his womanising ways but that gets explained quite well.
Though I was sorry about Lana’ past, I loved what happens in this book.
I have read these out of order as this was my first book in this series.
Having now listened to book one I can place this story better. Though it isn’t

I have not read the first book but maybe I should now...

Loved it. It was fun with hot chemistry and a climax that left me in shock with a big smile on my face by the end.

Some serious deja-vu feeling... The siren episode was a lot like the siren episode of "Hell's kitty".

Read the first book before reading this one.Half of the book I felt lost what's going on because it referenced the first book heavily. Overall it was okay.
