This hardback Charlie and Lola story is well illustrated and uses variation in the writing size and font to enhance the reading experience.

In the book, the school sports day is approaching and Lola is trying to decide what race to participate in. She finally chooses the egg and spoon race and has to concentrate really, really hard to make sure her egg doesn't fall off her spoon!

Field Day is coming up and Lola is determined to find something that she can really excel at to make the most of it. The egg and spoon race seems like it might be the thing, but she'll have to really, really concentrate to not let the egg drop.

This is another great C&L selection with plenty of Lotta and Marv to round out the cast. It's definitely introduced the concept of concentration with our 3-year-old, so that's been fun.

The little one really likes the pages with the sleeping chooks. She turns to that one immediately and likes to look at it and talk about it for several minutes.

Toddler loves it, but that's because she loves anything with Lola in it.

We LOVE Lauren Child's books, and especially find the Charlie and Lola series endearing. We always enjoy the imagination, silliness, and fun of these books.
