Guys... I LOVE this series! I just finished this in one sitting as I couldn’t stop reading. If you’re a fan of the Illuminae books, I think you’d enjoy this series.

Naomi, along with 5 of her brilliant International Space Training Camp classmates, and two AI’s, lift off on the spaceship Pontus to head to Jupiter’s moon, Europa, to begin the years long mission to start colonization of the ice moon as Earth deteriorates. Their mission to begin the terraforming process is imperative so that the Ear

YOU GUYS. If you haven't read the first book, The Final Six, you cannot start this one. It really wouldn't make sense, just go back and read it. I promise you'll fly through it. This book though? HOLY CRAP, it was so good. I stayed up all night reading this, and if you're a fan of the Hunger Games/Divergent model of adults with ulterior motives manipulating teenagers who end up being smarter, then this is your next read. Naomi is an amazing, strong female lead (even with her panic attacks!), and ...more

✔ the final six travel to Europa
✔ cliffhanger is done justice
✔ racial diversity
✔ obstacles in the dark space
✔ fearful yet hopeful occurrences

The Life Below is a sequel that instils the notion of second books in a series raising the standards; it picks up right from the wonderful cliffhanger that turned the last page of The Final Six. Paced across three parts that showcase the journey of these teenagers through

This was a very nice continuation of the first book, most of it took place outside of Earth and we got to explore some very cool stuff. I still love the relationship between Naomi and Leo, they're adorable and I want them to be happy. This novel still left a lot of questions answered though and maybe even had some potential plot holes? Anyway, I'm ready for the sequel and I hope it comes quicker this time!

I loved The Final Six when I read it last year and for some reason I completely missed the announcement for this book? So when I saw it on twitter I just assumed it was just announced and it'd take a year or two to be published but??? It's coming out next month???? I'M GOING TO SCREAM

Still don’t like the first chapter, very random. I didn’t think this book was as good as the first and didn’t like the ending. I’m kinda confused on what happened at the end as it felt very rushed. I want to know how different characters are doing but it ends abruptly. It definitely felt like a second book in a trilogy but the ending doesn’t exactly hint at a third book, maybe a spin-off but not a third directly.
This book came out a few years after the first and in that time I forgot most of th

Full review to come. But really 4.5 stars. Plus, I need another book. I mean I get it, but there’s still more. I mean I still think the two guys in charge are not good guys.

This. This was what I wanted when I made it a goal to read more science fiction. The second—and final book—to The Final Six blew it’s predecessor out of this world. Yes, I know what I just said. Seriously though, this felt like an entirely different book. One I would have liked at least two more of. It fixes the issues I had with the first, is much darker (like I wanted) and dabbles with a little bit of horror.

I’ll start with the resolved issues. What kept The Final Six from being the science f

this book really... swept me off my feet and had me squealing at 2 am.
it was worth it, but i wanted a bIT more closure then what was provided. but, all in all, this book was amazing, wonderfully written, a perfect pace, and the transition between the two books was perfect in my opinion.

I’m honestly so sad to rate this book so low. I had such high hopes for this series, but it just fell so flat for me.

Without giving any spoilers, The Life Below ended up being unsatisfying and uninteresting. The events of the novel felt rushed and only seemed to really get interesting at the end. So many questions were left unanswered and I don’t believe there will be a third to this series.

I’m especially disappointed because I had such interest in the story. The premise is fascinating and I k

JSKSKSKW WHAT?!? YOU CAN LITERALLY NOT END A BOOK LIKE THAT!

I'm so upset. I need the next installment immediately. I have questions.

Sydney flops backward on my bed, looking as exhausted by all this as I feel.
“What have we gotten ourselves into here?”
“Seriously.”
“To think, I just wanted to be a plain old doctor when I grew up,” she gripes. “Now look at me. I’m—I’m in a giant machine flying through outer space, strategizing about aliens with a girl who, just three days ago, I thought wa

The Life Below is the sequel to The Final Six and I would highly recommend you read the first book in order to understand this one. If you are a fan of The 100, Divergent Series or even Interstellar, then you will LOVE this.

Quick recap: The world is quickly becoming destroyed by water and it’s a countdown until humanity is completely gone. The government has initiated a program to train and send 6 teenagers to the moon Europa to try and sustain human life there. Naomi was chosen and Leo was not

This is a great follow-up to The Final Six. Action, suspense, aliens - it's chock full and the typical bad guys aren't in league with the other bad guys, and in the end they all have good intentions. It was a lot of fun.

The author isn't bad as a narrator for the audiobook. You can tell she has some experience with performance, and that comes through. She's not the best I've ever heard, but she was certainly above average and on a par with several narrators I prefer.

James Fouhey is really, really

I liked this one better than 'The Final Six', just because the story is set among the stars.
When dealing with heartache, I have found that it's best for me to read stories set in space.
It makes me realise that the problems I feel, are only teeny tiny in comparison to the large universe. It offers a different perspective.

Furthermore, I loved the descriptions of Jupiter when on Europa. I came out of the story thinking 'wait, what?! I'm back on Earth? What the... ' :p

When I say I raced through the 1st book and then this one, I couldn't stop reading! Except for the couple of nights that I started having nightmares of tsunamis and failed space missions but besides those nights, couldn't stop reading! If you like YA, space travel, science, and interested in an environmental war on earth (global warming is real) just read these books!

Wow! This book is so intense! The first one was already so good, but this one was somehow even better. Both books really keep you guessing about what’s really going on, and are full of twists right up to the very end.

THE LIFE BELOW picks up where THE FINAL SIX left off in terms of plot but, unlike its predecessor that was charged with setting up the world and laying a lot of context groundwork, picks up the pace and is a nonstop thrill ride from start to finish.

I love these books and hope and pray that they make a sequel. This book sadden me a little because of certain things that happened (will have to read the book to understand), but I really liked it. Some things did seem a little far-fetched, but it was nothing that you wouldn't expect from a YA Sci-FI novel. Overall I liked it a lot, perhaps better than the first and would highly reccommend it.
