Tracie had her life figured out. She was getting ready to graduate from college, had a teaching position lined up, getting ready for the rest of her life. A spell awakened a hidden power and she started having visions. Visions of her other half.
Derek is in town visiting his older brother in college. While they're at a club, he feels her, his other half, his elan. His brother doesn't believe him, his sister calls because she's seen it. She gets premonitions.
These two soulmates need to get past all the roadblocks, from family to location, and finally, age.
I had a hard time connecting with the characters. They just did nothing for me. The book dragged on in areas and I felt it was inconsistent in others. I'm not sure I would read the second book.

Easy read
I wasn't really tied down to this book in the 'I can't wait to get to the next page' way. I was hoping for that, but no such luck. I saw most of the twists coming and could pretty much guess what was to come next except for one or two parts. However, it's a relaxed read and it's enjoyable in that sense. The whole 'Sugar' thing grated on me though... Hated every time that nickname came up. It didn't fit, but that's my preference. I started the second book and after the first chapter I set it down because I'm just not drawn in. I may pick it back up in a week or so if curiosity gets the best of me... Although it does kill cats so...

The story was pretty good, but the ending was too abrupt. It needs more of a cliffhanger to continue on with book 2.
