The heart is exquisite.

You’ll never hear anyone wax poetic over an organ quite like they do the heart.

When you’re lost in the world? Follow your heart.

When your love for someone is unwavering, unparalleled and unprecedented? You give them your heart.

As a lead pediatric cardiac surgeon, I knew better than anyone that the heart is equally as powerful as it is delicate.

Well, what an emotional rollercoaster that was! Amie's writing never fails to bring out the feels for me and this one was full on in the feels department.

An Imperfect Heart had a few issues in it that I connected to on a personal level, which I both loved and found difficult. It is also why I am finding it hard to review and rate, I think most mothers will feel a connection to this story and even more so if you have had a child with additional needs or health pr

An Imperfect Heart was a wonderful story about the pregnant Kelly who’s expecting a girl with a heart defect. Her fight to do what’s best and right for her unborn child was the shining star of this story.
Kelly has had a one night stand with the pediatrician, Anthony who’s going to operate on her child so that causes complications.

I enjoyed the flashback to when they got together 10 years ago. There was so much heat and chemistry back then. How they got to know one another was fabulous and sexy

“The drums give life to music. And the heart, it’s the music of life.”

If there is one author who always has the ability to draw me in with her beautifully poetic writing, that would have to be Amie Knight. I am yet to discover a book by her that I have not absolutely loved and felt every ounce of emotion she inputs into her stories. An Imperfect Heart was different though, it was more, so much more; more emotion, more powerful and a lot of heart.

As any mother can attest, you love yo

When I first read Miss Knight's book, I do not like it. Many things do not work for me. Now after picking up many romance books, I though I give it another try.

In Imperfect Heart, I finally can connect with the story and writing style. I have to admit the writing is beautiful, raw and poetic. The characters though do not grow on me like I want to. I still think, especially Kelly, it's immature. Kelly is full of dramatic behavior. Some part, I can not stand her.

At the end where Miss Knight fina

Best line: “You never have to beg, baby. You just tell me what you want and it’s all yours,”

Finally, a guy who doesn’t need to hear their woman beg for sex to stroke their fragile ego!

I didn’t didn’t LOVE this book, but I liked it. Loved the fact heroine had casual sex throughout the years and not stay like a monk!

I wish he DID stay celibate though, and may be look for her.

‘My memories of her were laced with lust, heat, laughter and something on the cusp of young love. She remembered the ending. Not the beginning or all the good stuff in between. It was my fault.’

Oh what a beautiful, beautiful story. If you’re a Mum, you’ll connect to this story in every way as it highlights the selflessness, the utter devotion and unwavering love a mother feels for her child. If you’re a lover of romance and swoon, this book will fill every piece of your romantic heart.

So, it was second chance romance, you could say.
The book is well written, i like author’s style, this was my third book from .
I liked the heroine so very much, how she’ve changed her life style, that she didnt put her baby in adoption neither she didnt end the pregnancy. She loved her baby so very much, but sometimes life throw us this kind of puzzle, and man, did she resolve it.
I give this book 4 stars because of hero. He was sweet, he was so in love with his “short cake”, the way he wooed her,

The hero seemed to be a bit of a coward
The heroine waited a long ass time for him to explain why he left her in the first place and turns out his mother actually spilled the beans.

The fact that the heroine just kind of went along with everything(the hero providing a house and hospital care - which was really nice) without getting an explanation rubbed me the wrong way.

He seemed to run away during times when she really needed him.
So instead of enjoying a hero who was not a manwhore I kinda flippe

4.5 stars!

Wow. What a beautiful, beautiful story! A heartfelt and emotional almost-second-chance-romance that had me absolutely captivated as we dive into the story of a pregnant mother desperate to save her baby and the only man who can help her – the one who got away.

This book loosely fits in with Amie Knight’s Heart series (See Through Heart and A Steel Heart), with some crossover characters (both the hero and the heroine are friends with characters in previous books), but this book can abso

I loved the synopsis of Amie Knight's "An Imperfect Heart" and absolutely adored the way the story was executed. This really was a cute, swoony romance with a side order of angst that cropped up every now and again. To be honest I was so invested in the budding connection between Doc and Kelly that I didn't need or crave the heart ache. It was an added bonus of course but it was this couple that had me all kinds of giddy. I mean come on ladies, who doesn't want to read about a sexy paediatric ca ...more

I’m not really sure what to say about this book, I saw a lot of people reviewing this with high ratings so I immediately clicked because of FOMO. For me though it fell a bit flat.

I loved the idea and plot, I liked Kelly but I guess what I didn’t really enjoy was the pace of the story. It was very insta-love and I struggled to believe in Anthony. I guess I just didn’t connect with him and it all felt a bit rushed. I think I would have bought into his back story more if I knew more about the past

My second book in this series and though I really loved these "warm" characters and the tender aspects of this potentially heartbreaking story....it didn't have the same powerful "emotional" affect on me as my previous two reads by this author. A good read.....nonetheless.

Second chances, when they happen, are sweet, don’t come easily and are the epitome of romance. Kelly Potter needs Anthony Jackson. They’ve met before. It didn’t end well. But she needs him and she’s persistent. I love the nervousness the beginning chapters had me feeling. I was right there with Kelly - pumping myself up for what was going to happen. I was smiling as she bantered with her friends. I loved Anthony’s kind heart. They were both perfect with their imperfections. Th

If you're a momma, this one will definitely tenderize your heart! It cuts deep.

I wanted to love this story and there were parts that I totally did. But there was always a downer that followed. The idea of their immediate chemistry that followed with a one-night stand meeting didn't even turn me away, but the subsequent split for so many years before they get that second chance played havoc with my ability to believe everything just fell into step. Dr. Anthony just felt way too accommodating and

This is the first book that I have read by Amie and I truly enjoyed it. She gave us young love, second chances and a lot of heartbreak. I just can’t imagine what Kelly was going through and knowing that she was going to face Anthony again, what were the chances?

Was it fate? Or just a little Hope and Faith?

This is the 3rd book in this series, so I will be going back and reading the first two books.

An Imperfect Heart by Amie Knight was an emotional story about love and second chances. It will take you on a journey of a mother’s love and determination and the man that will do anything to protect and help her. It was sweet and engaging.

Kelly was so strong and full of sass, but also sweet. When she finds herself pregnant and finds out her baby is sick, she will do whatever it takes to ensure the baby’s health. Anthony was so sweet and charming. He had a few moments, but otherwise, he was nea

Many more than 5 Stars Every so often you read a book at just the perfect time and this happens to be one of those for me. I receive the honor of reading this book in advance but allowed extra time to absorb and feel every single word that I read to provide the most honest review. This is a beautiful story that will and should speak to any mother out there. Finishing Kelly and Anthony's story just before Mother's Day made it even more special and heartfelt. I knew going into An Imperfect Heart that I was going to get ALL the FEELS. Amie certainly delivered!! There's a reason she's one of my favorite authors.

There wasn't anything I didn't love about this book. From the STUNNINGLY beautiful cover, to the lively characters with their banter, and Hope.

I am THRILLED for whatever Amie writes next.

Amie Knight did it again. She made me love her characters and want them to just love. I loved that we got a little glimpse of Miranda and Ainsley. Kelly didn't ever plan on being a mom, she wanted to become famous in her band and tour the world. Things turned out different than planned when she found out she was pregnant. Unfortunately, her daughter has a heart problem and will need help from the start if she wants a chance to survive. The last thing she expected was that the doctor that could s ...more

This is one of those books that grabbed me from the first page and had to be read in one sitting. I loved both of these characters, even in their "dumb" moments. Anthony was great, until he got in his head - then he made dumb decisions! I still think it was wrong that his mother explained to Kelly what happened years ago that connected the dots to a pivotal moment in both their lives. I loved Kelly and wanted to hug her pretty much off the bat. She was not without her faults but you could feel t ...more

I was drawn to this book immediately after reading the blurb. This story is about Kelly and Anthony, a pediatric heart surgeon. Anthony is kind, generous and caring. That's what I liked about him so much. Kelly, on the other hand, is a tortured character. She is pregnant, and she was not prepared to become a mother, a single mother to boot. When she thinks she has figured her unexpected pregnancy out, she has to place the life of her unborn child in the capable hands of Anthony, who als
