I thought I was out of the life, until I saw her. Daisy, with her peaches and cream skin, and a dark shadow lurking over her shoulders.

That man was going to hurt her.

A thousand miles from the big city and my hitman past, yet I can’t resist pulling the trigger to keep her safe. My reward is her sweet, pure body riding me

In this story we have Daisy who has always been a small town girl. She’s grown up in Nebraska and hasn’t ever left. She and her family have been a town fixture for decades. Everyone knows everyone in this small town.

Alexei is a man who is new to this town. He’s been living there for a few years, but hardly ever goes into town, as most of his feed items are delivered by wholesale where he doesn’t need to go into town for suppliers. He keeps to himself usually.

Alexis Abbott has a way of grabbing my attention from the start and keeps it till the end. In my opinion she knows how to write a suspenseful story. I loved Alexei he is protective, strong and caring. I love Daisy she is smart, lonely, struggling and feisty. Unfortunately she gets involved with the wrong man and can't get out. In my opinion Alexis Abbott did a good job of portraying the abused and I could feel her fear. This is an instant love story, normally this is not my favorite type of stor ...more

Here is yet another "hit" book from the author of her other "hitman" books (all of which I have read). I guess what struck me the most is all the discussion of morality: Is it ever right to kill another human being? Abbott gives us an easy answer in this particular book since the hitman seems to only kill vicious, evil people. And along the way there are great sex scenes. So readers who like a bit of philosophy and a lot of sex will love this book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy of ...more

This is an excellent, well-written, book that I enjoyed reading immensely. Daisy doesn’t like Dean’s unwelcome attention towards her; he may have fooled the rest of the town, but not her. Alexei is looking for a quiet life after spending years with the Bratva, but the minute he and Daisy meet it is as if fate has brought them together. This is a book I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending.

Daisy was only 18-years old when she lost her father, but he taught her to be resilient and re

Protective Hitman & Innocent Farm Girl = A Phenomenal Story

I Hired A Hitman is another outstanding romance with lots of suspense from Alexis Abbott. Alexis' writing style is one of which the reader is completely engrossed in the story, her characters are relatable / believable & it is contains loads of actions & romance. Alexis' mafia bad boys always have a sensitive and endearing side.

Alexei is a retired hitman. He is trying to live a quiet life on a farm in the Midwest. After spotting the fri

An exciting and action filled story filled with suspense and danger.

Mafia based stories have not really interested me but I liked the synopsis for this book so thought I would give it a try.  The main character, Alexei, is former Mafia and has taken to living the quiet life but always keeping his ear to the ground for any sign that his enemies may have tracked him down.  Daisy is a country girl born and bred, living the solitary life since her dad passed away.  But with troubles of her own, she

Once again the author has brought us a wonderful story.

I really liked Alexei. He was a former Russian hitman but he had morals. He also had a good heart. I found it interesting that a man who had done so many bad things to come out with a heart that was not hard as stone.

I found Daisy shy and very sweet. She was an innocent country girl. She was one that also had more trouble then she could handle. I felt really sorry for her. She was so alone. Her father was dead and it seemed she had no othe

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. OMG! I loved this book! Alexei and Daisy were amazing together. Their story is hot, steamy, deliciously sexy, suspenseful and dangerous. Alexei is a man with a past a past he no longer wants to be a part of, leaving that life behind and starting over in a quaint quiet little town. Keeping to himself until he encounters Daisy and the abusive man, Dean speaking to her, Dean is a bad man and he can feel it in his bones. He doesn’t want to ...more

Suspenseful and romantic

I can always count on Alexis Abbott to deliver a suspenseful, action-filled story with steamy passion and love with her protectively strong mafia men. I loved this story about Daisy Jensen and Alexei Nikolaev.

Alexei thinks he’s found a safe haven in a small town in the Midwest, away from the big city and his past as an enforcer for the Bratva. He’s done with that life of violence and seeks only to live a simple life as a gentleman farmer. But when he meets Daisy, distraug

Alexei lives in the Midwest, and finally found what peace feels like, nobody really pays her attention or asks any questions. Rarely having to go to town, with a late order he needs to get feed for his animals, at the store he sees Daisy, there is heat between them, but he wants to keep a low profile. When he hears someone talking to Daisy, with her sounding frightened, he wants to act on his impulse, but he reminds himself he’s not a hitman anymore.

A refreshing take on the hitman plot used in so many reads that turned out to be a great great great read. There’s Alexei, a hitman who seeks peace and quiet in a small town after leaving the Bratva. There’s Daisy a small town woman who is being harassed by a man, Dean, who she went out on one date. Alexei’s and Daisy’s worlds collide when she runs away from Dean and runs into Alexei, who has witnessed Dean’s harassment. Retired Hitman must Come Out of Retirement…… 4.5 stars

Daisy Jenson works in her small town’s feed store. She is avoiding the unwanted attentions of Dean Ashcroft who after one date feels he “owns” her. Alexei moved to the small town in his retirement from a dangerous job, to enjoy the quiet and isolation of his own land. Usually ordering supplies wholesale on-line, he must make a stop at the feed store and hears Dean threaten Daisy.

When Dean escalates his unwanted attentions, Alexei happens to b

This is another wonderful, hot, hit-man story from the queen of mafia romance. I loved the dynamics of this story, how everything fell into place, the heat, the passion, and the action. I cannot get enough of this author’s works, she just knows how to draw you into the story and hot let you go.

This story was different from the others in this series, in that it was more of an “after the mafia” type story. The main character is retired and trying to find a new, quiet and balanced life.

Awakening Daisy

A gripping suspense every time with an Alexis Abbott read she never disappoints her readers. Alexie born in Siberia now lives in Broken Pine a small town in the US Midwest. The locals know nothing about his dark past as a Hitman! Daisy works at the local store where Dean, a one date ex, is a dangerous stalker who threatens her daily. As Daisy lives alone she has to get away. She meets Alexei in the towns bar and he takes it upon himself to protect her! Will this naive country girl

This is another great mafia book by Alexis. Daisy is just a small town girl who lost her dad a few years ago. She has been keeping to herself but finally accepts a date with Dean, the 'good ole boy from town'. He now won't accept no as an answer and is becoming possessive of her. Alexei is a retired hitman for the Bratva, and decided small town living is perfect for him. When he overheats how Dean is treating Daisy, he doesn't like it. Alexis Abbott is an amazing author and I absolutely love her writing. I have read and reviewed many of her books which have all been five star reads. “I Hired a Hitman” is no exception. Alexei a hit man has retired to a small quiet town to become a farmer and live a simple life. He meets sweet Daisy at the feed store where he overhears someone threatening her. There is something about Daisy that attracts him but because of his past Alexei must stay away from her. But when her life is threatened ...more

If anyone can make a hitman into the man of your dreams, author Alexis Abbot does it easily.

Alexei and Daisy (not sure about the name as I kept picturing Daisy Duke) are an amazing couple who go from strangers to lovers in the blink of an eye and in the next blink are in a passel of trouble. Alexei goes back to his hitman ways to protect her from an obsessed (not quite sure I would call him a boyfriend after only one date but it simplifies matters) boyfriend. Daisy and Alexei’s story had me hooked from the first page.
And then it was almost painful to put this romantic thriller/ thrilling romance out of my hand. It made me feel real desperate when I had to do it…

The contrast between the two protagonists could not be more significant:
On the one side a naïve, innocent country girl, on the other side the ruthless hitman… both portrayed very detailed, very lifelike, very genuine….

The plot is extremely suspenseful; fast-paced moments alternating with more

I will start off by saying that Alexis Abbott has given us another page turner. I read this book in one sitting because I wanted to know what happened. Alexei and Daisy are totally different and I think that’s what really worked for them. Alexis described Daisy just the way I imagine any small town girl to be. Everyone knows everyone and looks out for each other. Of course, every town has at least one jerk and Dean happens to be the jerk of Broken Pine. Alexei has retired from being a hitman and ...more

This is a story about two people trying to fall in love, and danger trying to prevent that from happening.
