Rating: 5/5 stars!

I just knew this month would've started in a great way. So here's my review of this 5 stars book. First the plot:

Teddy Bear Chronicles introduces us to a young educated Chicago woman, Kelly Donovan, who must escape from her luxurious home to get away from her sociopath boyfriend, Mark Flannery. She must plot, lie, and pretend to be happy before she can flee her relationship and her own home, alive. Unf

Overall, the story was quite good. It’s a suspense thriller told from the perspective of teddy bears in the possession of the three main characters. This makes it totally unique to begin with. The story itself was a quick read and easy to follow and I enjoyed it.
What really bothered me was all the errors. I don’t know if the copy I got was unedited but it was hard to read at times. I honestly thought english was the authors second language for a moment. Phrases were said wro

I absolutely loved this book! The Teddy Bear Chronicles vol. 1 is a solid 5 stars. It was an I-have-to-know-what's-next read. The concept was unique, and I have to say even I have wondered "if my stuffed animals could talk what would they say about what they see and hear?" If it wasn't Easter weekend, I would've finished it Friday. If you're thinking about giving this one a shot, I scream "go for it!!!!!" I cannot wait for the second book in the series! ...more

The Teddy Bear Chronicles is one of the most unique and individually clever books I have read. The main voice of the book are not the characters, we get to see the characters struggle and function through the eyes of all seeing teddy bears. They have innocent visions and descriptions of what they see and hear. They also form connections with the people in their life.

The thriller part of the book is chilling and suspenseful and it makes me cringe on many levels. I felt for Kelly and I wanted her

"I need a man who would feel comfortable with that because if I'm happy and fulfilled, I can be a better wife to him. If I am unfulfilled and resentful, I will be a bad wife,...right?" Wow these words. Wow this book! Let me lighten things up first by mentioning Kate's purse and Mr. Morris' ongoing joke because they had me laughing so hard. This book was so different because of the different perspectives and honestly it took me a while to catch on to what was going on but once everything clicked ...more

What a wild ride! Definitely not what i was expecting when i first picked this book up. Yes, this book is told from the perspective of Teddy Bears, but it is NOT a children’s story by any means. It’s a story of a woman attempting to escape... a story of suspense with a ‘six degrees of separation’ theme mixed in as well.

The only part of this story i didn’t like was when they referenced Chicago having “good” pizza, since this is just simply not true. (Yes, I’m from the New York area) 😝

Overall very

Seriously! I loved it. It's definitely different to see things from the POV of teddy bears which live in the homes with the characters. Sometimes the bears are carried around with the humans and there are three different bears. They are all adorable and a couple of them are very funny. This aspect takes the edge off of the lip-biting plot line which is very welcome at some of the most scary times in the book. The humans' plot is definitely a suspense ride! Pretty darn frightening at several poin ...more

Although the cover depicts three lovely teddy bears, this book is definitely not for children as it deals with the adult issues of mental and physical abuse, stalking, and life-endangering relationships. Kelly Donovan is in a relationship with Mark who has funded her nursing studies. Mark is a self-made man who is comfortable in his life but insists that he remain the sole focus of Kelly's life. He controls her activities, her funds, her relationships with anyone other than himself, and he makes ...more

I loved this book! What first catch my attention was the fact that the story is told by teddy bears, this is something that really adds to the story.

What is great about the story is that, specially at the beginning, you are presented with facts. How Kelly (who is trapped in a abusive relationship) is treated by Mark, her boyfriend. And you can actually feel the impotence that the only one that can actually help her is an inanimate object.

Personally, that’s one of the main things I learned with

Name of the book - Hope in Paris! (The Teddy Bear Chronicles Book 1) by Donnalyn Vojta.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars and a big wow!!!
My take on the book -
A few days back I and my kid sister from another mister were talking about how wonderful it is to hug your teddy to sleep and how creepy it would be if the said teddy hugs you back.
So imagine a thriller being told by... wait for it... Teddy bears.
I loved it and had an amazing time reading it.

Super unusual, but once I got used to the narrators POV, it was quite a fun read. Yes, it's a thriller and there are scary parts, for sure, but the teddy bears are so cute, and one of the plotlines is a funny romance, so I really enjoyed this one! ...more

This book is vol. 1 of teddy bear chronicles by donnalyn vojta. It is a suspense thriller slightly based on Romance. This book is set in the beautiful city Paris as the title suggests but some earlier events are also based on America. The narration is quite unique here as it's done by three teddy bears named as fair bear, love bear and sleepy time bear. But, I would make it clear now that it's not at all a children's book❌ It's full of suspense and thriller and the author did a gre

I received the ARC for this book from the author for an honest review, as always :)

I was really curious about the plot and the way this story is written because I have not heard about any book that is similar to this one in description. Plus it is narrated by teddy bears so I definitely to read that.

And it was such an interesting read with a different approach to writing. It is a writing style I

Whoa. So this book hit me a lot harder than I though. It deals with abuse in a relationship but in a different approach that a lot of book cover. Rather than being told from the person being abused, it is told from Teddy Bears. (I'm serious) It was so different that, it made me not want to put it down. I loved it. I read it in a night. I was beyond curious about how it was told and how it would end

I'm not one for Suspenseful books. I never have been. This book is that good. But every chapter kep

I was instantly gripped as soon as I started reading this book! I like that you are lured into the story by three different bears - almost like Toy Story VS a thriller. It was interesting to see things from a teddy bears point of view! The story itself had me screaming for the characters to run and survive and I could definitely sense the fear, danger and emotions of each character. There were also some funny parts to the book too! My favorite was: "If I were a person, I don’t think I’d work-ou ...more

Well... I loved the book.. The narrative is awesome.. Narrators are not only cute but loyal and witty. Teddy bears as narrators was what drew me in and I asked Donnalyn for a review copy and I am so happy that I did. This book is simply awesome, the way all the characters live different lives in different places and still end up in one big circle of planning and plotting is simply brilliant. I have read quite a few suspense books and quite frankly even being the first work of the author it lived ...more

What an amazing and unique book. The book is narrated by Teddy bears

This book took me on a wild ride, it was filled with suspense, thrills and even a bit of comedy. The subject of abuse is not an easy one to tackle however the author does a wonderful job keeping you engaged and wishing you could somehow help Kelly escape. I kept turning the pages for more, more until no pages were left. This was Volume 1. I am anticipating Volume 2 will be just as engrossing as this one. I am on the edge of my

The synopsis of this novel is what grabbed my attention. I HAD to see how the author was going to tell a scary thriller plot by using cute teddy bears as narrators. Well...she did it! Once I understood that the bears were the only eyes I'd have to "see" the action, I loved it. The story itself does not disappoint, if you love edge-of-your seat scary heart-pumping thrillers. The story is even funny in parts, like with the bears especially. If you want a new type of book, this is it!

Such a neat concept!! A must read for sure. I have never read or even heard of a book written from the perspective of a stuffed animal. Donnalyn was so creative on how she brought the three stories together. Her writing makes you connect with the characters and you have all the feels throughout for them! Worried about them! Angry at them! Excited at them! etc. Her great writing keeps you on your toes but also gives you time to breath in-between the exciting, action packed moments. Excited for th ...more

When I started reading it, I didn't think I was going to like it. Having the narraters be teddy bears took some getting used to. It's a suspense novel and the bears take some of the edge off and add a comedic touch. Which I like. There were some plot twists that I saw coming and others that made my jaw drop. Overall I think it's a completely unique book and I definitely recommend it. It unlike any book on the market right now. ...more

The Teddy Bear Chronicles is the first book written by an author who has great story-telling skills. I don't usually read novels, especially crime novels. But I was pulled in by the uniqueness of teddy bear characters. The book is exciting and fun. The ending took on a new direction from what I thought it would be. And happy endings at that! Imagine a crime novel with a happy ending.
