Always the caretaker, former Marine Reid Griffith wants to help his brother adjust to civilian life...and help other former servicemen. What better way to utilize their brawn, discipline, and charm than a moving company that hires veterans? But although Reid prides himself on being strategic, he certainly doesn't plan to fall in the spotlight of one brilliant―and beautiful ...more

The whole package by Marie Harte was a cute read. The hero Reid Griffith was everything I love in a hero. He was smart, sweet, supportive, loyal, and a sexy former Marine. Anyone who knows me knows I have a thing for Military men. Reid was so yummy, cool under pressure, protective and totally kicked ass. God but I wanted to eat him up! Naomi Starr was great too but there were times were I just didn't understand why she acted, said or thought the things she did. I got really annoyed with the way

This book ticked off a lot of boxes for me. I loved Reid. He's former military, started his own business to help his brother adjust to civilian life and he treated Naomi respectfully while still showing how dirty he could get. That's pretty hot!

Naomi is a very strong heroine that came close to being too much, but Reid seemed to bring her back before that every really happened. My only complaint would be is that I wish they had gotten together as a couple sooner. I wanted more of them as a coupl

I threw an impromptu romance-a-thon this weekend and The Whole Package was the third book I read in my marathon. Unfortunately this one didn’t really work for me. There were many awkward parts where the characters (or the writing) felt like they were trying too hard. I did like the idea of a moving company that revolves around hiring and helping vets. But the story and characters get a solid meh from me.
Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I’ve been a huge fan and supporter of Marie Harte for many years and I was thrilled when this new series was announced, a moving company that only hires veterans and set in Seattle, but unfortunately The Whole Package just isn’t up to this author’s usual standard. The good news is, there was enough good in this book and because of this author’s past work I will read the next book in this series, but for me this book was a miss.

Reid Griffith, former Marine, along with his brother Cash and his cou

meh. That is my overall feeling about this. Didn't love it but didn't hate it. I felt like I got to know Cash instead of Reid and I thought Naomi was a bit immature. ( I had to look up the heroine's name, if that is any indication of how this is!) The story was a bit forced and there was too much going on so it felt like the book went on forever.

The Whole Package was a whole mess. Too many characters, too many side plots going nowhere, and the MCs had no idea what to do with themselves. Marie Harte has a talent for writing rough and tumble families and friends with humor, wit and a whole lot of heat; all were missing here.

Former Marine Reid has a moving company (Vets on the Go!) that pr exec Naomi wants to pitch because she's angling to be hired by another business known for supporting military veterans. Naomi and Reid are instantly at

I’m so excited about this new series from Marie Harte because I’m such a big fan of her Contemporary Romance. THE WHOLE PACKAGE is the first in the Movin’ On series. You can expect a lot of the fun teasing and banter that Harte has in a lot of her other series, and as expected, a sizzling hot romance.

It took me a little bit to get into this book because it’s a whole new set of characters. The beginning has a lot of that banter that displays the bond and camaraderie of the heroes. I think this

This one was cute. I loved the idea of Reid and Cash's business and how the brothers look out for each other. Very much like brothers to instantly jump to bad conclusions, like Reid did at the start with Cash. I loved how that one action brought so much to the company. From extra business, to additional employees to Naomi helping the business get to the next level. Of course the romance with Reid and Naomi was an added bonus.

I really liked Reid and Naomi and how smitten they were, how honest th

Reid Griffith runs a moving company completely staffed by military vets. How sad that this is about all I can come up with to say about him.

Naomi Starr is working hard to make her fledgling PR company successful. When she sees the heroic actions of one of the vets and their moving company truck, she thinks she’s found a winner.

This book moves VERY SLOWLY. It just seemed to go on and on. I felt like I learned more about Cash, Reid’s brother, than I did about Reid. And that isn’t necessarily a go

When they set out to make a difference, neither had any idea of the impact it would have on their individual lives. Harte is back with a steamy new series to heat up the bookshelves, straight from the heart. The Whole Package makes all the right moves to get under your skin. Reid's heart is in the right place when he hatches a plan to help former vets adjust to life outside the service. His idea may be great, but he needs more than that to turn it into a realistic goal. I'm just facing facts... I'm never going to finish this book. The characters annoyed me for 34% of it, not doubt they'd continue to do so. I haven't picked it up since Feb., so bye.

A moving company owned by Marines (once a Marine, always a Marine!) that hires vets? As the daughter and wife of career Marines, that sounded right up my alley! This was my first book by Marie Harte, so this seemed like the best one with which to start.

Reid was a former Marine who started Vets on the Go! to help his brother Cash, also formerly a Marine, to better adjust to civilian life . Cash appeared on television with a co-worker when they foiled a robbery. Naomi, who formed her own PR firm a

When Reid's brother and one of their employees get caught on camera stopping a burglary, it gives their local moving company, Vets on the Go!, more attention and a lot more clients. After seeing Vets on the Go! on television, Naomi knows working with them is just the boost her marketing and public relations company needs to open the door to another veteran whose business she's trying to snag. What she didn’t count on is the instant attraction she has with Reid, but she's determined not to mix bu ...more
This was my first read by this author I think? Although I didn't end up being wow'ed by it, I might definitely read the 2nd book. My problems with this book stemmed from the heroine and me personally never liking when h/H's ex is given too much presence in this book, which is the case here. The heroine is the daughter of super succesful parents and siblings and doesn't feel she measures up. She is running her own PR firm, after leaving her previous job 18 months back because of her ex-bf and bos ...more

The idea of a moving company run by ex-service men and women? Wonderful! Set in Seattle? Another fun plus. A local, new, small PR firm’s owner who sees the company’s potential and wants to help them capitalize on what they’re doing? Great!

Except....Naomi, the “PR expert”, seems immature and wishy-washy. Reid has some insecurities too, but for most of the story, hers outweigh his.

Then we add the supporting characters into the mix and...there’s a lot of side stories that almost overshad

This was just okay. The writing didn't move like I would have liked, I felt like this story drug on forever. I had high hopes when I started, because I've loved the previous books I've read from this author. Reid was a good guy, and I liked Naomi for the most part. I thought they had great chemistry, but there was a lot of other stuff going on in this book, and I felt like their story suffered because of it. In my opinion, Tanner had WAY too much story line for this to be about Reid and Naomi. T ...more

I found this book to be a bit of a slow burner.
Reid is a great character and as a reader, you’re immediately drawn to his integrity and honour. With just a hint of alpha, he pulls off his ex-marine roll to perfection.

Personally, there wasn’t quite enough drama for me, not enough tension, even when a “could be” tense scene arose. It is, however, a sweet story that reminds you to love deeply and warmly.

I particularly enjoyed having Cash’s pov and getting to know him more than just in passing. It’

Reid Griffith owns a moving company, Vets On The Go, with his brother and cousin. While doing a move his brothers crew stops a robbery which draws media attention to them. The business is growing too fast to handle. Naomi Starr has started her own PR company and sees the coverage. She wants to handle his PR. There is an immediate attraction, but Naomi has been burned before by a work relationship.

I loved the back and forth dialogue between the characters. This was a fast easy romance. Thank you

What I enjoyed about the story though were the secondary characters that were all introduced in the first book that worked at the Moving Company. I can’t wait to read who Cash ends up with because the person will have to win over Cash’s heart. He’s not an easy character, but he tells how it is. There was also the love and drama between the two brothers. Both Cash and Reid will watch other’s backs, even when they end up fighting with each other on some thing

My first time reading Marie Harte and I found this book really enjoyable.
What I liked:
The Alpha men with soft hearts.
The characters and characterization in general.
Reid, a blue-collar hero.
A veteran hero who isn’t a wounded hero.
The whole concept of the moving company hiring veterans.
Anti-gender stereotype tendencies.
The affections; the strong bond between brothers Reid/Cash.
The writing style; the sense of humor.

The Whole Package is both the first novel I've read by Marie Harte, and the first book in her new Movin' On series, and while it was an entertaining and certainly steamy read, I liked it but didn't love it for several reasons, and it gets 3-stars from this reader.

I liked the Negalley blurb which mentioned that this novel was about a moving company owned by two brothers who are both former Marine's (although they still consider themselves Marines), which hired only veterans--offering them a way t

Marie Harte has become a staple author for me with her interconnected series that I just have to read. The Whole Package is the start of the latest of these series and features a somewhat broody Marine and an PR lady who shines but doesn't see it.

By somewhat broody, I do mean, just a little bit. Reid is definitely not my catnip.

Marie Harte seems to be an author who writes a lot of different genres - contemporary, historical, menage, fantasy etc etc. Despite this, I’m pretty sure that this is the first of her books that I’ve read.

Sadly, this book didn’t inspire me to delve into her back catalogue. It really was missing something for me - and I’m sorry to say that I think that the something might be a plot.

The premise sounds fun and quirky - the main reason I picked up this book was

I really do like Marie Harte’s writing style. She tells stories that make you care about the characters while addressing being subtle about issues. She manages to blend these two elements into stories that entertain.
