Fern By Kat Flannery
This story starts out with Ms. Fuller and she's been brought to town, She died on the way.
The new sheriff investigates the woman who had brought him in. Most likes it was the ladies husband as everybody knew he beat her often.
She befriended Fern who gave her herbs to help with her infertility but they did not.
The old doctor had passed away and left 3 girls. The oldest learned everything she knew from her father. The middle girl is a crack shot with the gun.

This is the first western romance that I have read. I didn’t know what to expect at first but once I began the story I quickly got into the characters and storyline.

The Montgomery sisters are well defined characters and are strong resilient young women living in the Wild West. A time when women must fend for themselves and know how to defend themselves.

Fern is the oldest and the caretaker of her sisters. Her sister Poppy is a tough and rugged young lady who knows how to shoot and take care of h
Not going to leave a rating because this just wasn't exactly what I expected. It was a clean romance. Only a couple of kisses. Didn't really get anywhere with the development of the romance. The ending was just sort of the beginning of a relationship, indicating the hero would start courting the heroine from there onward.

I was kind of bothered by how long the Sheriff (hero) hung onto suspicions about the heroine being a murderer. Didn't really like that. The rest of the story was fine though.

I loved the vivid descriptions of the surroundings. The mystery could have been a little less obvious. It was good easy to follow and interesting. Just felt like it needed more suspense. Hated for it to end. Will be looking forward to the series to see what lies ahead.
