This is undoubtedly one of the most, if not THE most amazing andd enjoyable children's activity book I've come across. The scope of information, activities, presentation is simply superb.

First of all it is beautifully and creatively illustrated with exciting drawings that are both fun, charming, and (to a degree) accurate. When you first flip through the book, you will see that it has large and very well executed fold out pages for the different habitats and in these sections (each section has color coded borders) there is such a variety of learning and fun activities. Of course, there is sticker fun. But there is so much more. Searches, matching, doodling,

At the very start of the book, you get to complete the owner (explorer) information page and finalize a drawing of yourself. Then you start your wild journey with a plunge into the Rain Forest. Critters are playful and have a tendency to snatch sun glasses or hats and then you have to hunt for the item on the pages of the habitat.

The quality of information and activities is tops. And as is befitting a quality book, it is made of nice sturdy paper.

I simply can't rave enough about this activity book. This would be great to have on hand for rainy days and will make a fabulous birthday or Christmas gift.

This is exactly the kind of book I loved as a kid and the kind of book I purchased when our kids were younger. This is the kind of activity book that parents can feel good about getting for their kids. Your child won't even know they are learning while having fun on the pages of this book!

Your child will travel through seven different animal habitats by participating in numerous activities including dot-to-dots, doodles, mazes, seek-and-finds, and outside-the-box activities for each habitat. The pages take the child on a journey from the desert to the ocean to the mountains to the forest and more featuring the animals they would encounter in that habitat. Your child can essentially explore the pages and have fun while learning about the animals on the pages.

The pages are a heavyweight paper to hold up to young hands turning the pages and writing on them. For each habitat, there is a fold-out section that allows children the chance to seek-and-find or place the included stickers on the pages.

There are opportunities for coloring and other activities. I love how there are bits of learning on the coloring pages telling kids, for example, that bluebirds sing as many as 500 songs an hour. There are also Did You Know facts throughout the pages.

Each section ends with an Outside-the-Box activity that kids can do with their parents that goes along with the habitat the child was learning about. My favorite activity was making a giraffe out of the child's handprint.  The animal illustrations are realistic, yet cartoonish. They remind me of animal characters in Pixar movies. They seem to have a personality on the pages and kids will find them adorable.

I would guess the activities in this book are appropriate for lower elementary aged kids with some activities needing parent help for the younger kids and other activities, like the dot-to-dot too easy for the older 2nd-3rd graders. But, I remember liking dot-to-dots even if I knew exactly how to do them anyway.

This is one of those really awesome books that I want to give to every kid I know. I highly recommend adding it to your gift lists for younger kids you know. If you have to take a younger child along to wait to pick up an older child, give them this book rather than handing them a device! Homeschooling parents would also find this a useful resource!

Are your kids wild about animals and nature? Do you need something to keep them busy on road trips or rainy days? The My First Wild Activity Book is the perfect way to keep kids learning and having fun.

There are sketches for kids to color and cool mazes. This handy guide also has large fold out pages and stickers on the back to bring the animals to life and to make this book a great interactive learning tool. Readers can learn about the various animals that live in the Rain Forest, Desert, Ocean, Mountains, Forest, Savanna, and Polar Ice. Each section also has a Think Outside The Book page that is host to a specific craft for kids to create.

Colorful illustrations make flipping through these pages fun and provides insight to what animals look like and shows how they interact with each other. Some pages have fun facts for quick learning. Each section also shares ways for kids to search and find animals and even some matching exercises. If your reader is good at eye spy they will love the dual images where kids can find what’s different. Parents, teachers and caregivers can use this tool to teach reading, animal identification, motor skills, writing and so much more.

I love activity books and this is perfect for budding naturalists. It begins with an invitation to become an explorer and to take a journey through seven different habitats around the world, including the rainforest, the desert, the ocean, the mountains, the savanna, and the polar ice of the North and South Poles. Within each habitat, kids will find pictures to color, puzzles to solve, spot the difference challenges, seek and finds, mazes to travel, and dots to connect. The illustrations are friendly and brightly colored. There are scenic fold-out illustrations for each habitat, and stickers at the back of the book that kids can use to finish each scene. I like this book not only because it has lots of information for kids to learn about the natural world, but it also helps to develop problem solving skills. My kids and I spent a lot of time with this book before we went on to some of the other books I've included here. We had a lot of fun while learning new information about animals and where they live.

This activity book is fabulous! I adored it. There is so much amazing stuff in this book. You can draw, do mazes, do search and finds, do spot the difference, doodle, match color, play connect-the-dots and so much more in this over-sized action packed activity book. Kids will be engaged, will learn and spent time doing product activities rather than sitting in front of the TV. I loved everything about this book and I really loved all the stickers. Such a delightful book! A must for kids that love to learn about animals from various parts of the world in a fun and engaging way!
