Previously part of the IPPY Award-winning WINTER RAIN (Love in the Rain 2) charity anthology.

All Ethan Randall has ever known is solitude. Solitude is safer. Solitude is something he can't ruin with the painful, unclean memories sleeping under his skin--memories that make him reject human contact, memories that turn every attempt to love into nothing but pain.

So much lovely tenderness...

Such a lovely story. It’s sad and gritty and very, very real. All of this makes the payoff extra sweet and special. Lovely to see two hirting people find that sweetness.
My only complaint? I wanted more time with the golden retriever.

I feel strange calling this book a 'comfort read', because it goes into great detail about one character who was a childhood sufferer of sexual abuse, and another character who was the victim of childhood bullying. Those parts were quite difficult to read.

I loved this book for the same reasons I love Mccade's book 'over and over again'. It gives you a serious case of the feels. It was far shorter than I expected but still rich in humanity and connection.

Slender. Angry. (Part) Asian.

Yeah, that about sums me up.

Hi. I’m Cole. Xen. Whatever you want to call me; both are true, and both are lies. My pen names are multitudes, my nicknames legion. Tall, bi/queer, introverted author of a brown-ish persuasion made up of various flavors of Black, Asian, and Native American.
