Ms. Vansant has written a well-crafted cozy mystery as a drug cartel decides they want a warehouse that is being currently used as an "underground senior disco" by Pineapple Port resident, Jackie. Plus, psycho Stephanie is back and Declan's past is revealed to Charlotte.

“Pineapple Disco” earns 4/5 Shiny Dance Balls…Delightful Fun!
The Pineapple Port Mysteries by Amy Vansant is a delightful, yet unique, series in the cozy genre that joins together multiple generations in the pursuit of justice. Circumstances have allowed Charlotte to stay a resident at a 55+ retirement community with her best friends, a plethora of senior citizens who don't necessarily resign the selves to a slow-paced retirement. I have read the series from the beginning, but newbies can jump in at any point since there are plenty of references to background and character connections to keep one engaged. Amy’s sixth installment is very entertaining with two mysteries that just may be connected: a missing person and bullies at the underground “senior citizen’s” club. Again the group sets off investigating, sometimes in opposite directions, but the final solution, motive, and perps is very satisfying. Along with the cozy-style mystery, we have relationship problems, cross-generation miscues, and more than a few giggles. Great series, and you can start here with this entertaining book.

This was probably my least favorite of the Pineapple Port series so far. I'm not sure if it was lacking something, or if life just got in the way, but it took me far too long to finish this short novel. Still worth the read if you're following the series, but not as fun as some of the others, in my opinion. Looking forward to trying some other books by Amy Vansant, though!

Another fun Pineapple Port story. After the last book, I was kind of glad Stephanie was gone and didn’t miss her. This is the book that made me like Stephanie.

2021 52 Book Challenge #49 A flavor in the title
Okay, I found the book a bit weird. I had no clue about Pineapple Port nor the folks who live here. A lady is intrigued by a man who jogs by her daily with one word on his shirt. Eventually the words for a question, asking her to go out with him. When she has her answEr, yes of course, he doesn't jog by. She contacts the local civilian detective to find out what happened to him. Turns out, he was kidnapped by the local mafiA who want to make an example of him but also to turn over the local mob .
I was disappointed probably because I have no clue what I was reading, but because there were lots of stings to pull. HOWEVER, I've not given up on the series.

The latest in Amy Vansant's series of Pineapple Port books is a change of pace. For once Charlotte is not investigating a murder case. She is looking into a missing person. The problem is that the request comes for a person who does not know the name or address of the person.
I get ahead of myself. If you have not read any of this series I recommend you do. You do not need to in order to understand the story. Any backstory is added in as needed. However, the backstory goes like this. Charlotte's mother died and she was sent to live in Florida with her grandmother. Gram lives in a retirement community called Pineapple Port. Gram dies leaving our hero an orphan. She is allowed to continue to live there with the neighbors taking turns at taking care of her. Now she is 20 something woman who lives in an area with senior citizens. Because she keeps getting pulled into murders she decides to become a private investigator.
In this book she is called on to find a man that a former resident of Pineapple Port has been flirting with on her daily walk. He has been wearing a t-shirt each day with one word on it. Will. You. Go . Out. With. Me. ?
The day the woman is about to respond with her shirt, he does not show. While this might sound like a dull story, it does involve a hit-woman, drugs, an underground disco for senior citizens, and stuff that if I told you about it, it would be spoilers.

Wow, I just loved this book!!! What I like with this book and the whole series is with the fun spunky characters you have no clue what they are going to get up to next and where the story will take you next. Most of the characters might be of retirement age but that doesn't stop them from trying to out run bullets and drug dealers, with hilarious out comes. Don't listen to this book in a quite place ,like a library as you will have to keep explaining why you are laughing.
Charlotte's latest client has a missing boyfriend that she needs found so they can go on a date oh and find out his name. At the same time her friend Jackie is being hassled to sell her business and Declan volunteers to act as a bouncer for under ground night club. Before either have time to catch there breath and work out what they have got themselves involved in they are hiding from drugs dealers with a mission to kill. Add in Stephanie, Declan's ex girlfriend and blood isn't the only thing that is going to spill. But is Charlotte ready to take on secrets as well as bullets.
I really like the narrator and think she does a wonderful job bringing all the characters to life in this explosive story. Five stars all round and a must listen. Can't wait fir the next book.

Pineapple Disco, book 6 Amy Vansant's Pineapple Port Mystery. A very, clever and unique series with FABULOUS New Covers!!! As a teenager, main character Charlotte Morgan moved in with her grandmother, to Pineapple Port, FL, a lively 55+ yr old community. In her early twenties her grandmother died and left her the home. At almost 30 yrs old she still enjoys living there. And has several 'grandparents'. The husband of one is the town police chief. Her boyfriend Duncan owns an antique/resale furniture shop, doing quite a bit of business at Pineapple Port and other such communities. With the help of Duncan's live in uncle, Charlotte has gone from amateur sleuth to practicing private investigator. She has solved several murders, thefts and other situations these lively neighbors bring her. Lots of Actions. Laugh Out Loud Humor. Romance and Clever everyday living. Unpredictable twists and turns. I read this book on Kindle Unlimited. Ready for book 7 and any other new Amy Vansant's books!!! Reading one AV book will lead readers to reading her others!!! These new covers are perfect for this series!!!

Unfortunately, for the first time, I have to give one of Pineapple Port Mysteries only three stars, and that only because it was a good plot an story.. I am partial to this series, but, whereas so many writers tend to paint women stupid, Amy Vansant goes way beyond that. From what I read, Charlotte should be locked up permanently, for her own protection. What human, with even half a brain, nonchalantly goes after hardened, armed felons alone, with nothing - no gun, no taser, no knife, not even a canister of mace or pepper spray, and, additionally, without giving anyone a clue as to where she is going. Now, is that stupid or is that stupid, addlebrained, mentally challenged, brain dead., ad infinitum. If Amy didn't fortuitously arrange to have someone show up with one or more of the aforementioned weapons, there would be no more heroine. But, come on, how many times can you get away with making that happen.
Ms Vansant, you have seriously assailed my sensibilities with this book. If this is the best you can do, I am afraid that I will have to forgo reading what books I have yet to read in this series.

Pineapple Disco by Amy Vansant
Oh I just love the Pineapple series and this was book 6!
This is the best series to read when you need a pick me up! The inhabitants of Pineapple Port retirement village have taken Charlotte under their wing since her own grandmother passed away and keep a close eye on everything she does. Charlotte now has her private investigator licence and is hired to find the ‘would be’ boyfriend of elderly Gloria. However, ties to a drug boss come up several times and Charlotte finds herself, boyfriend Declan, neighbors Darla and Mariska, fleeing down a scary metal tunnel under swampland! Oh, the excitement never stops, but I must say, whenever a phone signal is available the police come pretty fast, swamp or no swamp which lessens my fear for Charlotte’s life. She doesn’t seem to worry about coming up against bad guys with guns after leaving her own at home! I’d rather she took it always, even if a bad shot and despite me hating guns. Charlotte is creative however and always has a plan. I gladly bought this book and strongly recommend the entire series book 1-6. You won’t regret it. This review is entirely my own.

A fast paced, action packed storyline that covers drugs and the seedy underbelly of the criminal world. The characters are vibrant, lively and colourful. Whilst the actual kingpin will take your breath away - I certainly had no idea.
When she is hired to look for the latest man to have caught Gloria's eye she certainly didn't expect the can of worms she uncovered. From a prolific killer, to a drug kingdom are just some of the things she uncovers. Why has the killer be set onto the rival drug gang and who is the kingpin? Secrets from Declan's past are also revealed. Such as his stint as a mercenary, his relationship to the hitman for hire and his fighting prowess. Can she get answers? Where is the missing man? Why is he trailing drug dealers? Gun fights and murder run riot through the story as you move from one explosive scenario to another. A great way to spend a cold rainy afternoon.

Gloria moved out of Pineapple Port when she got some money and got a place on the beach. She took many walks, and she noticed a good looking man crossing her path every day. One day, he appeared wearing a new tee shirt with one word on it. The next day, it appeared with another word. The man used this method to ask Gloria for a date, but when she bought her own tee shirt and wrote "Yes" on it, he didn't show up to see it. Gloria gave it two days and then she called Charlotte, her old friend and recently licensed private eye. Charlotte finds out at the same time that Seamus' girlfriend Jackie has opened a disco exclusively for the 55-and-older crowd. The club is out in the middle of the swamps of Florida with no cell service in such a remote location, but Jackie needs Charlotte's services too. Interesting things happen, seemingly inevitable. I loved this book!

The book is skillfully written, with plenty of surprises. Sometimes it was hard to follow, but that was because a few different stories were being woven together. It was sometimes frustrating to have to put up with the stupidity of several old women, but I guess that goes with the territory of Pineapple Port retirement community. A lot of quirky old ladies live there.
I was a little surprised at the amount of violence in the book, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. The characters were interesting and quite predictable, even though the lead character seemed a bit naïve or scatterbrained, frequently forgetting some basic things about being a detective. It did keep things interesting, though, to try to guess how she would get out of the next fix she got herself into. She never shied away from dangerous situations. In the author's style, the book is a quick and easy read.

Things are getting even crazier in senior community. Gloria is about to be asked out by a handsome gentleman but he suddenly disappears, so she hires Charlotte to find him. She is so excited to play investigator until drug lords, Declan's old flame and assassin shows up and then all hell breakes loose.
Charlotte must link two different cases to help Gloria find her missing suitor.
I thoroughly enjoy this series as it is so nice to see characters grow and watch their relationships develop. It is like getting together with all freinds except these friends are slightly quirky but so fun nonetheless.
Amy Vansant quarantees fun, laughter and interesting stories and her books are always such a treat.

I love reading about the characters in Pineapple Port! Yes, they are a bit off center, so to speak. Yes they are always doing something they probably shouldn't, especially Charlotte, the only under 55+ resident. She fancies herself as a private investigator. In this story she is looking for a missing person. Then her friend, Jackie's 'underground mature disco' gets infiltrated by violent criminals who want to take over the club for themselves. Charlotte asks Declan, some one who isn't a true and up standing, straight as an arrow citizen for help. There has to be some connection between the two cases. Sit back, grab your favorite beverage and enjoy the ride in this one! You won't be sorry. I voluntarily reviewed ARC of this book.

Seamus’ girlfriend, Janet opens a secret disco for the elderly! When “bad” men try to force her to sell Seamus enlists Declan and Charlotte’s help to figure out who they are. Crazy vengeful Gloria has moved out of pineapple port to a beach condo. When her suitor goes missing she hires Charlotte to find him! After a lot of mayhem and twists and turns Charlotte discovers she’s involved in more than one case. With gangsters, drug dealers, crazy elderly people Charlotte has her hands full but when Stephanie, Declan’s ex turns up in the middle of it all she nearly loses it! I loved seeing Gloria and her wacky plans back! This was a very fast paced, exciting book, humorous thrill ride of a book. I highly recommend this book, this series and this author!

Drug Lords and Swamp Things
This book is the sixth in a series of humorous cozy mysteries. The plot of this book is especially intriguing. There are more than a few twists and turns as our PI heroine tries to find missing people and keep them safe while she does. The background stories and the romances build in each episode, so I recommend reading them in order. But, each book stands alone with its solved mystery. These books have solid mysteries to unravel, but no gore, swearing, or graphic sex. Unlike many cozies, there are no people focused solely on crafts, cooking, fashion, or wine pairings. No boring stuff in any of this author's books. I have been binge-reading this series and haven't giggled this much in a long time! I highly recommend this series and this author.

I really enjoyed this addition to the entertaining series. The storyline was full of humor and the characters have become more complex. I really like the way Declan and Charlotte interact. They’ve come a long way since they first met.
Gloria hires Charlotte to find a man who has been flirting with her via t-shirt. Meanwhile Jackie has secretly opened a dance club for the over 55 crowd but someone is trying to intimidate her into selling. Declan’s Uncle Seamus asks them to back him up not realizing they were dealing with drug runners. All in a days work when there’s a mob boss, an assassin, and a bunch of seniors to deal with.

A cozy mystery which is not only action packed but ironic in that all the characters' lives are interwoven in multiple ways. Complex with multiple twists and turns the author interweaves the vindictive but love struck Gloria, the jealous serial killer Stephanie, a secret concerning Declan's past,a secret drug lord, the ruin of Jackie's disco, Charlotte's interfering family of seniors and Charlotte stumbling into more than she bargained for as she tries to find the missing Ryan.

Amy has another winner!! This story is well thought out, well written and flows nicely. A senior gentleman has been flirting with a senior lady and he disappears. Charlotte needs to find out what happened to the man. The underground disco for seniors gets infiltrated by violent criminals. Now what's going to happen with that? Charlotte has gotten herself in more than she bargained for. Get a copy of this book and ride along on this roller coaster of twists and turns. See how Charlotte solves the mysteries. Learn new info about Stephanie and Declan. Find out how the seniors get to their disco. This book will hold your attention to the end!!!

I like how these books can be read as stand-alones, but if you do read them in order, you learn something new about at least one character in each book. Sometimes it's very surprising, like Stephanie and her mother. I was glad to see Gloria back again, even though she is more than a little whacked! I shudder to think what would happen if Stephanie or her mother ever met Gloria...
This one wasn't quite as funny as the others before it, but then again, it did go to some much darker places. It also seemed shorter and wrapped up a little abruptly for my liking, but I would still recommend it highly. This series is very addictive!
This one wasn't quite as funny as the others before it, but then again, it did go to some much darker places. It also seemed shorter and wrapped up a little abruptly for my liking, but I would still recommend it highly. This series is very addictive!

Well that took an interesting turn
Never saw that coming. Things have definitely gotten a little more complicated with the gang, and a tad crazy too. Tasked with locating a missing senior, Charlotte sets out to locate Ryan for Gloria, her client. What she doesn't know is that her case will tie into Seamus' need for Declan's help with some problems Jackie is facing at her club. When things come to a head, Charlotte learns a lot more about Declan's past with Stephanie, and the fact that she is pretty sure Stephanie takes after her notorious mother.

Fast paced and “fun”
Charlotte is now a private investigator and her first case starts quickly and keeps running. Drug lords, new information about her boyfriend, saving people. All in a day’s work. This story has come a long way from our first encounter with Charlotte, the young woman living in a Florida over-55 village. This is fast and filled with lots of interesting information and action. Even a scene in a swamp, very Floridian.
My only real problem was the constant references to Columbia, instead of Colombia, to mean the South American country.
But all in all, a good read.

Pineapple Disco by Amy Vansant is another hilarious look into the Pineapple Port community. In this episode, we gain more insight into the mysterious background of several of the main characters by traveling outside of the 55 and over community to help a former resident. It is critical how the treads are woven together to solve this mystery and still maintain the humor that is so typical of Vansant.
I really enjoyed everything about this book. Vansant has created characters that sustain this series and keeps me coming back for more, every time.

Vansant/pineapple disco
Loved this series, good plot,good mystery all to make a good story ,involving Charlotte whom finally got her out license. The story invo!fed Charlotte , Declan helping looking into finding a mystery man that one of her client hired her to find. Only it ended up being invo!fed in drug lords, her boyfriend Declan mystery pass and how he became involved with his ex girlfriend who is daughter of a serial killer. The plot thickens as you read into this series. Superb creative writing skills is all I have to say. Loved it loved it.

Another Humorous Story From Any Vansant
I always enjoy reading stories written by Amy Vansant. Her writing is easy to read and the characters are always interesting. In Pineapple Disco, Charlotte has finally finished her private investigator training and is now an official Private Investigator complete with a license. Her first solo case seems like a straightforward missing person but all is not as it seems. Be prepared for a startling discovery about Declan, flying bullets and a lifesaving escape from drug dealers.

Charlotte was hired by Gloria to find a mystery man who wanted to date her, but had suddenly gone missing. In the meantime, Jackie was having problems with her underground disco club for over 50's. Dead creatures were being left on her doorstep and some unsavory characters were tring to buy her club, which was not for sale. It turns out to be drug related. Charlotte, together with Declan, Seamus and Stephanie (Declan's crazy ex) find themselves pitted against a very determibed drug ring.

I'm not liking the direction this series is going. It was a cute, funny, cozy mystery series. Now, I don't know what it's trying to be. The fun shenanigans have been pushed aside for more violence and darker stories making the humor at odds with the plot. Declan has somehow out of the blue become a martial arts expert with a background as a mercenary. WTF? The whole thing is starting to have the feel of a poorly written Tim Dorsey knock off.

The series gets better with each book
I must admit, I’m obsessed! This series is so funny, you can’t contain your laughter. I love Charlotte, she’s mature and quirky but doesn’t let small things, like psycho serial killer ex girlfriends, make her jealous even is the lady is gorgeous and wants her boyfriend back. Declan surprises me in this one, he comes clean about some things but there is still a big ? In his daily dealings.
