A fun and fluffy tale full of love, friendship, and sloppy dog kisses!🐶

This adorable story was comfort food for my heart and soul... sometimes you just need a lovely story that will put a smile on your face and a wag in your tail... this is the fifth book in Beth Kendrick’s Black Dog Bay series and can absolutely without a doubt be read as a standalone.... this was my first book in the series, but I have every intention to go back and read the previous books... I’ve always wanted to read Beth Kendrick’s books, specifically those from the Black Dog Bay series, like this one, In Dog We Trust. This book did not disappoint. It’s a book for every animal lover, and especially every dog lover.

Set in Black Dog Bay, Delaware, in Dog We Trust is Jocelyn’s story. She is the legal guardian for the late Mr. Allardyce’s group of Labrador retrievers. With that comes a pampered new life she never expected. The dogs are charming and lovable but super

Cute emergency!!!

In Dog We Trust is adorable, uplifting, and magnetic—I care so much for Jocelyn and those sweet labs that I wish I could have another book so I don’t have to leave them behind on those pages! When I read In Dog We Trust by Beth Kendrick, I wasn’t sure what to think. A dog romance book? But no—this is a book about a woman finding herself, learning about love and heart ache, and saving some pretty adorable pups along the way. This is a must-read for anyone who wants a feel-good r

In Dog We Trust by Beth Kendrick is the fifth book in the contemporary romance Black Dog Bay series. Each book in the series has a different lead couple so they seem to be fine to read as standalone novels if choosing to do.With this being my first of the series I did a little lookup and ran across an earlier description of Black Dog Bay…

An enjoyable women's literature novel set in the small town of Black Dog Bay.

Although this is the fifth in the series, I read it as a stand-alone and it worked just fine. The character of Jocelyn was my favorite. She is a dog-lover and works part-time as a care giver to Mr. Allardyce's pampered show dogs. The three Labrador retrievers get her full attention and she is devoted to them.

Things get interesting when the millionaire, Mr. Allardyce  dies and leaves Jocelyn  named the legal guardian of

In Dog We Trust by Beth Kendrick is a cute and light fluffy read. I needed something uplifting and fun after the darker reads I've been reading.

I adored Jocelyn and her best friend Bree! They had the sweetest relationship and had me cracking up with their friendship! Awesome bestie I'd love to have :).

What I liked was that this story wasn't fully focused on a romance. It takes awhile for the pacing and story to build up into the romance. I struggled a little bit with the pacing of the book and

In this fifth book in the Black Dog Bay series, Jocelyn Hillier's life has just turned topsy turvy, and more than once in relatively short order. For starters, Jocelyn is jogging one day on "Rich Person Road", which is actually Shoreline Drive. Jocelyn runs a linen service along with her mother, so she is definitely glancing at the other side of things. During her run, Jocelyn manages to save a couple of dogs from being run over. She so impresses their owner, Mr. Allardyce, that he insists on hi ...more

Funny cute rom-com.
There’s nothing like a fun read to put you in a good mood. This new book by Beth Kendrick is written in perfect romcom style.

Her characters are funny if not just a little bit crazy. Witty and decidedly likable, Jocelyn has an addictive personality that really makes the story fun especially when her and her best friend Bree hang around. Awesome bestie that I want to have!

A secondary characters are all great too. I especially enjoyed Liam and the rest of the st

This was my first Kendrick read and it certainly won't be my last.

From the quirky lovable town right down to the likable and fun characters, this story was just so much fun.

With a town every bit as lovable as the characters, it is definitely a place you wish you could visit if not live there too.

A sweet lighthearted story that will grab your attention and leave you with a smile on your face, In Dog We Trust was just what I needed for a quick weekend read in front of the fireplace to warm me bot

I received a copy of this title via NetGalley. It does not impact my review.

After a couple of really heavy reads, I needed something light and uplifting and In Dog We Trust was just that. I really enjoyed visiting Black Dog Bay again. It’s such a cute, quirky little town that I wish was real so I could go there. I liked that there were some brief cameos of characters from previous books, but you definitely don’t have to have read any of them to be able to read this one.

So this is the fifth installment in the Black Dog Bay series and unlike what I usually believe, I honestly think you can read this out of order with no real issues at all. Yes, there are some crossover characters but honestly, if you want to get a feel for this author and this series, it is quite easy to start with "In Dog We Trust."

"In Dog We Trust" is a sweet story about Jocelyn, who has a job taking care of a crotchety old man's pampered show dogs. When he suddenly dies, he makes Jocelyn the guardian of the dogs, which gives her a lovely new place to stay and endless money. Jocelyn can only begin to imagine how things might change.

This was cute! I loved the dogs and how they are described. The main character seemed a bit inconsistent with her behaviors. One minute she’s standing up for herself, but then when she really needs to, she lets people walk all over her. And the chemistry between Jocelyn and Liam was supposed to be there, but for some reason I didn’t feel it. Overall a cute read.

This is a fun novel for lovers of chick lit and dogs. Jocelyn is a good character. It didn't take long for me to get interested in her. Her frustrating love life is a mess. I kept rooting for her to find the kind of nice guy she deserved. And Bree is a great companion for Jocelyn. I love their smart dialogue and quips.

There is nothing really deep in this novel, just a light and funny romance. You will learn quite a bit about dog breeding and showing. You'll have a fun romp through two sides of s

Dogs are often the best people, and I would often trust my dog's instincts rather than my own. Plus, they are normally a lot nicer than people!

This is my first Beth Kendrick read, and it was sweet and cute and fluffy. I needed something uplifting after some darker reads, and In Dog We Trust was just the ticket.

It goes to show that one chance encounter can change your life, and that is what happens for Jocelyn.

I was immediately drawn to choose this book by its title. First, any story that includes a focus on dogs deserves my attention. Second, any book title that includes such subtile irony has great potential in my estimation. In Dog we Trust by Beth Kendrick is the story of Jocelyn Hillier and her role as guardian for several extremely wealthy Labrador Retrievers. Joss had always wanted a dog but since she was still living with her mother, the answer was always no. Then a set of unusual circumstance ...more

No dogs die in the telling of this story.

Jocelyn Hillier and her mother live in an expensive, beachside summer vacation town in Delaware. They're not rich, though. They're locals, and run a laundry service for summer visitors.

And one day, Jocelyn is out for a run, and winds up saving a Labrador from getting hit by a car and killed. In the process, she meets both Peter Allardyce, owner of Carmen whom she has just rescued, and three other very expensive Labs, all of whom have prestigious pedigrees

I read this book because there was something about the synopsis but also because Berkley Publishing has published it and lets just say the last few books I have read by them have been added to my favorite’s list . Those books are The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory and The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang . Nowadays I have started liking books with cutesy dogs and babies . They just add to the swoon of the characters’ and the character’s affection towards them makes the re

When you're looking for a fun, dog-loving romantic novel, Beth Kendrick's Black Dog Bay books work. They're all loosely connected by the setting, Black Dog Bay, Delaware, "the best place in America to bounce back after your break up", but you don't have to have read any of the previous books to enjoy In Dog We Trust.

I received an advanced copy of this book from First to Read in exchange for a fair and honest review. I also read it as a stand-alone, not realizing it was part of a series, and it read well.

Overall - so cute!

Jocelyn is a dog-loving, warm-hearted person who is just trying to make a living doing laundry service in her tourist-trap hometown. In saving a dog’s life, she’s hired by a wealthy, elderly man who cares for only his dogs to make sure his three pure-bred, prize winning Labradors are well-l

In Dog We Trust is a cute story. It's the 5th in a series, and I'm usually a stickler about reading books out of order, but I really thought this one worked fine as a standalone title.

This women's fiction/chick-lit book is chock full of dogs, best friend shenanigans, locals vs. "summer people" in a resort town, legal headaches, mother-daughter issues, all wrapped up with a bit of romance! Having lived with a couple of labs myself over the years, I greatly enjoyed the descriptions of their goofy

I like dog stories. I don't have to walk the dogs or clean up after them, so the stories give me just enough of the enjoyment of dogs. It's kind of like being a grandmother; you can spoil the child and give her back to her parents when it's clean-up time. With this book I get three Labrador Retrievers, show dogs all, and their particularities without getting whipped by their very strong tails.
Our hero, Jocelyn, inherits these dogs, a huge beach house and more money than she's ever imagined. A t

This is the third book I have read in this series. Sadly, it is my least favorite. While, it had the humor I have started to come to really enjoy from reading these books; I struggled to find that instantly and close relationship with the "human" people. Both Jocelyn and Liam were cool. Although, I will admit that I did warm up to Jocelyn faster then I did Liam. Yet, under the circumstances, we did not have a great first impression. By the end of the book, I would call Liam a friend.

I have read quite a few of Beth Kendrick books and have enjoyed them. This book was no exception all though I will say there were no surprises. From the beginning you knew exactly how the story was going to play out. Jocelyn inherits championship dogs and the millions of dollars that go with them after her employer dies. Liam, the dead mans estranged son, returns to fight the will. You can guess the rest. The book was fine for a non-thinking light read. Thank you Penguin Random House for the opp ...more
