Here I go again.... delving into Stasia Black's post apocalyptic "reverse harem" Texas world where women enter a lottery system and are matched with five husbands. The follow-up to "Theirs to Protect,(Audrey's story)" begins with the discovery that Charlie, Audrey's brother is alive and being held captive by an evil group. Thanks to Shay (our female protagonist) who helps Charlie escape, the pair soon make it to Audrey's location and the siblings are reunited. Imagine his bigger shock when Shay ...more

Don’t you just LOVE it when the sexiness is on point AND THE STORY ACTUALLY HAS A PLOT!?

RH is a relatively new genre to me, but I have read quite a few already, and one thing I have noticed is the lack of a plot in most of them. And as much as I enjoy a good sweaty and kinky scene, I don’t want the entire book to be about it. AND THIS BOOK DELIVERED!
Oh boy, did it deliver!

Shay is a woman stuck by the hands of one evil man. She lives in a society where

The previous book was okay. I liked the idea and the world that’s been created. I liked the husbands but Audrey was annoying.

This one started well. I liked Shay and settled down for a good read with a strong female lead...or so I thought.

It appears these books have a pattern. This includes a eureka moment. A moment when the female lead is set on her path. Realises the urgency and.... then delays doing anything for weeks.

I’m torn here because I like the back story. The world building. But the fe

Very unbalanced, but strangely entertaining.
Even better than the first book.

We get to see what happens when Charlie gets caught by the bad guys and how Shay helps him escape. They make their way to Jacob's Well and after a marriage lottery, Shay ends up with 5 husbands.

I love how we get POVs from each husband. This makes them all unique so they don't all get blended together like some reverse harem books tend to do. The chemistry was HOT!

The twists kept coming and I was blown away multiple times. Couldn't put it down.

So this book starts out with Charlie and Shay running away from a horrible group of people that are trying to overtake the government. Which we met in the last book. Shay helps Charlie escape this group and get to the town his sister is living in. When Charlie sees that his sister is okay but married to 5 guys he is a little-pi**ed off. Needless to say, Charlie does not find anything good about the lottery. Until Shay says she wants to enter it, but Charlie has to be her first husband.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

What an interesting take on life after an Armageddon event. Apparently a virus went through wiping out most of the women and after that there were some bombings. The survivors are pretty much grouped together in different types of settlements all following different rules. Shay helps release a prisoner and the two of them end up in a place where each women is put into a marriage lottery where five husban

More dystopian thriller/menage romance

Stasia Black's Theirs to Pleasure takes up where Theirs to Protect left off. Charlie, Audrey's brother, survived the attack that separated him from Audrey. He gets to Jacob's Well to see his sister with the help of Shay, a woman who sneaks them out of the warlord's camp. Shay trusts Charlie, so when her marriage lottery comes up, she agrees to 4 other guys plus Charlie. In this unstable dystopian world, no one is as they seem, and everybody hides secrets. Ev

I was actually excited to see this book. It turned out to be a colossal disappointment and a near total waste of time. Especially the character of Drea, who I was hoping really was bad ass lesbian down for her gender and willing to fight tooth and claw for us but she only ends up treated as an annoyance inches away from comic relief that encourages readers to laugh in the face of feminism and women's rights all the while going on about governor Wolford's dreamy blue eyes. Smdh. For real? This is ...more

This series is H.O.T.T. - hot! And its not just the men, its everything - the writing, the plot, the twists, the charecters. The steamy scenes are just a bonus.

I am in love with the law that states "every woman must marry five men". There are some words that shouldn't, in any way belong, in the same sentence, let alone be strung together to make a swoon-worthy phrase. But damn it, I want my sexy apocalypse. With everything happening in this world of Stasia Black I wouldn't mind being a raffle wo

The second book in The Marriage Lottery series is a sensual and exciting read that holds readers captive from the very beginning. The story starts off giving a bit of background for how Shay and Charlie met which lets readers know right off the bat that this story is going to be full of thrilling suspense and action. The fast pace ensures that readers never have a dull moment or lose interest in anything that is going on and let me just say that there are lots of exciting events that take place, ...more

Exceeded expectations

I was amazed that this book actually exceeded my expectations. It's after the end of the world as we know it and most women are dead due to a virus. Life is not good for women. There are different factions and this book takes place in Texas. You have a power hungry crazy guy who wants to rule the world. You have a guy who named himself president that was a good guy at one time but became corrupted by his total power. Only one town is close to being fair and they are progress

I don’t know exactly what I expected, but “Theirs to Pleasure” by Stasia Black delivered much, much more. The story begins years after a plague decimates about 75% of the female population that is followed by a nuclear holocaust. Protagonist Shay escapes enslavement in one camp and finds her way to a settlement called ‘Jacob’s Well’. One of the conditions for new female residents there is to marry five men chosen by draw. Each of Shay’s new husbands (Charlie, Jonas, Gabrie

Not as good as the first book but I'm still in love with the dystopian world that this series is set in!

The exciting part... Things are a changin'; the storyline has pushed forward (big time), more characters (from different territories) are introduced & clans are expanding. There was lots of betrayal, sex, danger & surprises in this one.

My biggest gripe... The relationship Shay had with her husbands felt awkward on many occasions. She didn't have equally strong bonds with each guy, li

Well Written Story with some major plot twists! It kept me on The Edge during whole read.
Ms. Black created World That will keep each reader engaged in its story and events.
Shay - woman kept in facility for woman. She had been beaten abused and raped for a few years. Suddenly New prisoner appears - who is he? Is He Her only hope?
All guys were Great and so so different That you will beg for Them All (wink)!
Events are fast changing so read carefully and enjoy this Great read!
In the first few chapters, I wasn't sure that I would like this. But, I decided to keep pushing on, and I'm glad I did. By the time I got to the end, I really did like it.

One reason that I wasn't sure that I would like it was I didn't originally connect with the guys. Charlie was OK when we first met him, but when he and Shay escaped and they got to town, he was kind of a jerk. He was really judgemental about his sister and her chosen lifestyle. She was happy with her five husbands, so why he's

Ok so the last book Theirs to Protect set this story up. This book follows Shay a prisoner of Travisville. When she helps Audrey's (the leading lady from the last book) brother, Charlie escape Travisville she knows exactly what she is in for when she gets to Jacob's Well. 5 husbands and giving her body - as the reader you get to know each of her husbands and the dirty things they bring to the relationship. This was an okay read for me

It wasn't as good as the first one kind of predictable but it was written well and the characters well hmm... I must say Shay kind of got the shaft on the lottery she picks Charlie to be one of her husband's because he "rescued" her from Travis but the other four men well one was an injured war vet he was probably the only good win along with Charlie and then she got a pot head preacher, a man with 2 kids and clean cut guy who was a little too clean...So spoilers are

This book. It seems outlandish. It seems like it has the makings of a book that is just fluff without any depth. Let me tell you though, THAT is not this series and in particular this book. This book was so good. Yes, it built off of the first one and we saw a few of those characters but this world just really took off. The author should be commended for her world-building skills.

Each character is given depth which afforded me the chance to get even more invested in the story. Shay. As

“Life wasn’t a fucking fairytale. In the real world, the strongest, most devious, evil motherfuckers won.”

Theirs to Pleasure follows the intensely action and schmexy packed dystopian reverse harem romance book Theirs to Protect in the Marriage Lottery series. Theirs to Protect was my first foray into RH so I was over the moon to be picked to read and review the next book in the series. I was given a copy of the ARC (yay) in exchange for a honest review. I am such a lucky girl.

I. Honestly. Love. This. Series!

The second book in this series definitely had a more cohesive story overall but still lacks some in truly making you fall in love with each of the guys Shay marries.

You get the most time with Charlie at the beginning and he definitely feels like someone that would make anyone happy with all the care he puts in to making sure Shay is happy.
Jonas is probably next for most fleshed out as you get a lot of his story and the struggles he has to go through to wrap his mind around events throughou

I was drawn to this from the start, it continues from book one, Theirs To Protect. Charlie is captured by the evil Jason Travis and as often as she can, Shay brings Charlie food and water to his cell. Suddenly, Shay breaks Charlie free and states that she knows where Charlie's sister Audrey is and they will escape to that township, Jacob's Well. They arrive safely but are taken into custody until it's explained that there are so many men that each woman is married to five men chosen by lottery. ...more

I did not like this book but not because of the writing.

I didn’t like this book for a few reasons. I don’t think betrayal and erotica is romantic. In no form can you mix those two things in together and get an HEA. There’s no way!

Having said that, the characters are complexly written and really very interesting. Jonas was the most in-depth of them all but at the same time he did not reach his potential in this book. It felt like it was cut short, cut short. I don’t know but it fell flat at the

The continuation from “Theirs to Protect” to this book “Theirs to Pleasure” is smooth and flawless, there are character crossovers but each book is complete/standalone. I was under the impression that “Stasia Black” could not exceed her previous book but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book exceeded all my expectations. This is fantastic, intriguing Reverse Harem romance and I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page page till the end. This book is set in a post-apocalyptic wo ...more
