Hellish #1-3

Hellish: Parts 1-3

Rate this book

Jonathan thinks meeting Cin is too good to be true. He's right.

PART ONE:

As the top investigative reporter for Global Daily, Jonathan travels all over the world. Three weeks in Tortola, covering the story of the disappearance of twelve women, sounds like heaven. After all, the island is one of the most beautiful in the world. He doesn’t have many leads. The women only have one thing in common. They all went missing from the same club—Consume. Fifteen minutes into visiting the club, Jonathan sees him, and the world slips away.

Cinaed, better known as Cin, spots Jonathan the moment he walks through the club’s door. It’s obvious the man is out of place. Cin slips into Jonathan’s mind, catching visions he can’t shake. He’s never wanted a human for anything other than blood and sex, but Jonathan is different. That’s why Cin has to keep the man addicted to being in his bed and send him home safely. There’s nothing in Tortola for Jonathan except death.

PART TWO:

It’s been two months since journalist Jonathan Jones uncovered a band of demons kidnapping women from Tortola. His run-in with the pack left him with him two choices—turn vampire or die. Now, as part of clan Hellish, Jonathan must learn a new way of life. He also has a huge problem—the turning has left him mated to the vampire prince, Niall. Unfortunately, Niall isn’t who owns Jonathan’s heart.

PART THREE:

In this third installment of Hellish, Jonathan’s attention is split between helping Dougal find a way to survive the damage he suffered as Lire’s prisoner and saving the world from whatever the demons have planned for the humans. With Mammon, the fifth prince of hell running loose, things aren’t looking great.

With the help of new friends and old, Hellish might have a shot at stopping Mammon from unleashing his evil on the world. Then again, sometimes greed wins the day.

1.5 sad and disappointed stars

I was initially put off by how the book began. The scenes in the club where Cin and Jonathan met were pretty unremarkable and cliche’. Then immediately there was a pretty ridiculous sex scene that imo wasn’t even very good. I gave up at that point but then picked the book up again a day or so later to see if it had improved I that time, I guess. Since I didn’t have to reread those absurd parts again I hoped to be able to enjoy the story. Nope. The writing just wasn’t good. It was stilted and didn’t flow well because it wasn’t very skillful. Sadly even with a second try, my conclusion was the same. This isn’t a well written book. If you’re looking for a professional level of writing you’re not going to find it here. The story was exactly the type that I love but when it’s done amateurishly it ruins it for me. Sigh.

This book threw me for a loop at the beginning, I was thinking it started pretty cliché but it changed my first opinion quickly. My only regret is that I feel I missed out on things with how it was done.

There wasn't characters I liked more than others as we got to know them, I didn't know where the story would be headed and it surprised me.
Loved their dynamic, would have loved it if it had a bit more meat on its bones but I enjoyed it fully either way.

I like me a few possessive MC's though I felt the author kept teasing too much with orgies that didn't happen, and I kind of wanted it to happen.

Other than a few names being swapped, the writing is decent, it lacked a good few bottles of lube and at the end of the day I wasn't a fan of Jonathan's name, it irked me a bit as the book went on. It's not a big thing it just didn't fit after the beginning.

the Whole Collection - Fated Mates and Instanta love

The first few books were good, really good. They had meat to the short stories. After the holiday pair, the stories became INSTANT LOVE. Fated mates, instant love and the couples just magically get along because their god and Tam’s meddling get them together. It’s just … there is no struggle to connect, no reason to be invested, which causes the story to be flat. When reading, I want to feel the characters struggle through a real connection and coming to a union because they fought for it… not because some one put them together.

Another great start in a series...

I've read most of Charity Parkerson books and so far I enjoyed all them. This series kept me very interested, I couldn't stop reading until it was finished. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
