Six years ago, Kiera Anders resolved to put her painful past behind her, seeking a fresh start in New York. She didn’t count on her past finding her again in the form Caleb Martin - her brother's former best friend and her first love. Now with millions to his name, a playboy reputation, and a closet full of skeletons, the cold and distant "Mr. Martin" is so different from the sweet Caleb she once knew.

But some things are hard to forget, and the passion that still sizzles between them can’t be denied. No other man could give Kiera that sweet taste of dominance and submission… and now that Caleb’s offering it to her again, how can she refuse? But things aren’t as simple as they used to be, with Kiera’s career on the line, a mountain of secrets between them, and Caleb’s sordid past threatening to catch up to him. It’s dangerous to mix business with pleasure… but it is worth the risk?

**This is the first book of the Risky Business Trilogy and ends in a mild cliffhanger to be resolved in book two**

**Content Warning: This book contains discussions of substance abuse/addiction, references to domestic violence between secondary characters, and the death of loved ones.**

warning...warning...this ends with a cliffy

Kiera and Caleb were in love and then tragedy strikes. He pushes her away. Now six years later they meet again. There is still heat and chemistry between them. They agree to a month together again, but will it be enough, will they be able to walk away at the end of their time. I'm thinking his half brother is going to create drama.

This book has it all: angst, sexual tension, heartache, lots of bdsm and tattoos. It does end on a cliffhanger, so be warned.

Not entirely sure the book needed the cliffhanger, it already felt long as it did. The BDSM scenes were good but the emotional subplot kind of muddled the erotica.

New to me author Siena Noble shows promise in the New Adult erotic romances. The kinky part of it may or may not be her forte. I am mixed because I am not sure if this book would have been better with or without the BDSM element. The BDSM element with the club is good. The kinky or SugarKink sex the two characters, Kiera and Caleb, fooled around with in their late teens is realistic and fun. Their youthful exploration is on par with what teenagers exploring sex would do. Their reconnection six years involving kink is a bit more iffy for me.

That Caleb, her first love, actually showed up at the pitch meeting she and her boss are at, is not what Kiera was hoping for. Nor was she expecting him to be so cold and unaffected when he sees her. Oh well, she's known as an ice queen at the office, so it should be no problem to appear just as indifferent to him as he is to her. Except not...as his proposal to her for weeks of no strings but exclusive fun indicates. Can Kiera keep her heart out of it and emerge unscathed at the end of their arrangement?

Well, I don't know because this is a trilogy so of course there was a cliffhanger. Not too bad of one in the history of horrible cliffies, but it still drove me nuts, and now I'm waiting impatiently for the second installment. If you like intense second chance romances, this one is interesting. I liked Kiera, and her backstory with Caleb is fascinating, with their hot chemistry and what are obviously strong feelings rooted in the past swirling around the two.

I didn't realize that the premise was quite so steamy when I entered a Goodreads giveaway (this is how I received my copy). 😳 Anyway, I LOVED this. I totally expected a mindless, raunchy romance but this was so much more than that. This book was everything 50 Shades tried to be (although the storylines are quite similar). The characters were fun and realistic and sexy. The writing and the story were great and I pre-ordered the next book in the series when I was only 1/3 of the way into it. I knew from other reviews that this book ended with a cliffhanger, which is honestly my only gripe with it. I want to know what happens next in the story, but the cliffhanger was just a weak excuse for a cliffhanger. Basically, the story just randomly concluded at a certain point and that was it. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

High Risk is a character/sex driven story about Kiera reconnecting with her ex and exploring her past and her sexuality.

Here's the thing, story ends on a cliff hanger to build anticipation for the next book? Fine, that's great. However, each book in a series should still have it's own story arc, and this one doesn't. This story felt like it was 1/3 of a book, instead of like the start of a series.

I did enjoy it though, and will likely read the next book if I can find it. It has cute, steamy moments and it was a quick enjoyable read.

Kiera Anders and Caleb Martin were a young couple in love until tragedy struck.

Now six years later, after seeking a fresh start in New York, she finds herself reunited with Caleb via work.

However, Caleb is not the man she once knew. Her brother's best friend, the man who had given her a promise ring and dedicated love, is gone. Instead, Caleb has become immersed in his wealthy family's lifestyle, whilst his playboy ways are lived out in the media.

No other man has made Kiera feel the way Caleb made her feel; either emotionally or sexually. And when Caleb offers her six weeks, can she say yes without risking her heart?

High Risk is my first time reading Siena Noble. And whilst I certainly had some slight issues with this book, it is still a solid three star read for me. It does end on a cliffhanger, with no sign of the second book yet, but it definitely intrigued me enough that I want to know what happens next, and where Kiera and Caleb go from here.

I did struggle to connect with the H. Caleb struck me as cold. He was meeting a woman he had all but turned his back on six years before, a woman who had worn his promise ring, but he seemed so immersed in his new wealth, and the women who came along with it. Even when he proposed six weeks of a BDSM dominant/submissive deal to Kiera, he couldn't remind her quickly enough that he didn't 'do relationships', they weren't going back to their past, and there would be no love or hearts involved.

That being said, the time they did spend together after this agreement made me feel like Caleb felt more than he was saying, and I certainly hope so! Beware that cliffhanger though...

I found the final chapter to be a little bizarre, and I'm not sure of its purpose. It seemed as though it was included in the wrong place in the book. For me, it didn't make sense. We get a current event, the cliffhanger of the book, and then the next -and final- chapter is a flashback to their past. I enjoyed reading the flashback, but a different placement within the book would have worked better for me, personally.

High Risk is definitely worth reading and I'm looking forward to seeing where Siena Noble takes this couple; hopefully to a HEA.

Siena Noble is a new to me author and one I will be reading more of. This book has a bit of everything - second-chances, chemistry, heartache, intrigue, and some light BDSM. The writing style was enjoyable and I liked that this was written from Kiera's point of view as so many books lately seem to be dual-POV.

I got really into Kiera and Caleb's story. As past lovers who were torn apart due to a tragedy and reconnected 6 years later, I was rooting for them to get back together the entire time - the chemistry was hard to fight. Their relationship reconnecting has a natural progression. When they enter into a D/s relationship in secret because they don't want it to interfere with their business relationship it's intriguing. I was anxious that they would get caught....and who knows, they still may. There are several scenes that seem to foreshadow to something major and I can't wait to find out what it is - maybe something with the accident? Of all the memory flashbacks, the accident seems to be a bit underwritten. I wanted to learn a bit more about it as I feel like that may be pivotal to Caleb's aversion to relationships, and in turn, his relationship with Kiera.

I knew going into this book that it was part of a trilogy and ended on a cliff-hanger but forgot about that as I was reading as I got so pulled in that I was disappointed when I reached the end. Can't wait to read the next book and see what happens.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The main characters Kiera and Caleb grew up together and eventually end up dating in college. They are so in love Caleb actually gives Kiera a promise ring. Right before Caleb is about to graduate and start his hockey career a very horrible and tragic accident occurs. Both MC's have their lives completely torn apart by the event. Caleb deals with the event by completely cutting ties with Kiera and moves away. To add insult to injury he mails her a severance check for $250,000. Fast forward six years later, Kiera and Caleb meet again and end up hooking up. Which leads to Caleb proposing that Kiera act as his submissive for six weeks, no strings, no heartbreak...cause that sounds like a great idea.

I couldn't get on board 100% with the way Caleb treated Kiera. I was also more than a little disappointed in Kiera's character who just returns to Caleb like it's no big deal. I kept waiting for the tension to break, for Caleb to be remorseful and sincerely apologize for his actions. I never felt that there was real closure on the past which made it high angst in my opinion. The entire time I was just waiting for the volcano to explode. Which it doesn't because the book ends on a cliff hanger. Bottom line, this book had too much angst and heartbreak for me to really enjoy it.

This book has some serious and fantastic steam. I cannot wait to see what happens to Caleb and Kiera in book 2 of their story.
This love-lust story begins when Caleb & Kiera were teen/YA life changing events that also tear them apart. As fate would have it they run into each other via surprise major work project. The sexual tension them is far too strong to be ignored. They make an agreement. 5 weeks of HOT & HARD dom-sub relationship.
Caleb - has some scars (literally & figuratively) that he is hiding. He's not afraid to show control & take what he wants. But is he as loyal as he says he is?
Kiera - major loss & heart break in her past, not as innocent or as confident as she appears. Will she be able to get over it or risk ruining things with Caleb forever?
I loved the flashbacks that were scattered throughout. It gave us insight & background on the couple without giving too much away. The steamy scenes made me squirm in my seat. I normally strongly dislike cliffhangers because I'm too impatient to wait & find out what happens next. But this was perfect. Just the right amount of suspense without me being annoyed that I have to wait. Not that I want to wait & what happens next.
Minor spelling issues. Some of the monologues were a bit lengthy but not unbearable.

"All I know is that I am not going to live the rest of my life without having a taste of him."

"High Risk," is the first book of the Risky Business trilogy, by Siena Noble. The story concerns the reuniting of two lovers, who were torn apart by tragedy, and then agree to a no-hearts, BDSM relationship, even though the chemistry is combustible. I knew that this book would end in a cliff hanger, so that wasn't a surprise. The surprise is, how much I'm looking forward to reading the second book. Instead of revealing the secrets these two are keeping, they just keep getting more complex and compounding the mysteries. The story is told from Kiera's point of view. With secrets swirling everywhere, we see these two trying to navigate, with Kiera's career on the line, and Caleb's past looming, it's a good thing that they're able to keep their hearts out of the way, right? With "High Risk," you can expect drama, angst, mystery, intrigue, tension, sexual situations, passion, and of course, a cliff hanger. A well-written bit of "soul-candy." I received this book as an ARC from Hidden Gems Books, and I volunteered this review.

Our hero and heroine has a past and while they claim to have moved beyond it, that is never as easy as it seems.

This is book one of the series (planned as a trilogy, I believe). A good place to start, of course, but also not a complete story. The book ends on something of a cliffhanger which is picked up in the next book.

This is a romance story with several different elements going on, but let's call it a second chance romance for simplicity. The book is well written and easy to read. The characters are well developed and solid. The plot is also well done, but not necessarily easy to track. While the basic thread of the romance is easy enough to see, there are also some secrets which provide a bit of mystery and intrigue (as well as occasional annoyance) to the story. And yes, there is a bit of steam as well, although not overly much. All in all, this was an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to seeing where it is going.

I am hooked. Great start to the series as the characters and story line are well written. You can feel what they are feeling.

Caleb and Kiera are old lovers broken up because of a tragedy 6 years prior. There was no closure for Kiera as Caleb shut her out completely. 6 years later they come together in a business meeting. After a impromptu weekend, they end up making a personal proposition to last until the presentation in 6 weeks.

Kiera has a wall placed around her heart that seems to come down every time she is around Caleb. As she knows things will end in 6 weeks. She has a lot on insecurity and tends to think too much. Caleb is persistent in saying he does not date or do relationships, yet anytime a man approaches Kiera, he goes all caveman on her!

I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and see how things turn out since this ended in a cliffhanger.

So hot my book was steaming.....

I loved the book High Risk by Siena Noble. It was well written. From page one I was hooked and didn’t want it to stop. The chemistry between the characters were solid and in the case of Kiera and Caleb, the written words were smokin’. As good as the sex scenes were, the writer also took the time to build a really good storyline. She made you care about the characters and where it all was going to end up at even though we won’t find out until book 2 of the series.

If you liked 50 Shades of Grey, good writing, and hot sex scenes, you will love this book. As a warning, if you are uncomfortable with descriptive sex scenes, you will want to skip this book. And truly, that’s a shame, as the writing is outstanding.

Thank you to HiddenGemsBooks and Siena Noble for the opportunity to read and review this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book.

This book has all the feels: angst, sexual tension, heart ache. And BDSM and Tattoos. It does end on a cliffhanger so be warned. I was warned but got so into the book that I had forgotten. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I can’t decide if I should hope it is a duet or a trilogy. Kiera and Caleb had everything until fate threw them tragedy. Caleb couldn’t deal with his presumed guilt so he pushed Kiera away. And now six plus years later they meet again and he still wants her but he has not processed his guilt. Therefore he keeps his heart locked in a vault. And Kiera has her own insecurities to deal with. Can they ever get over their loss or is this just to get closure? You will just need to read it to find out.

Holy smokes, what a great beginning of a new series! I cannot wait to see where this one goes!

Kiera and Caleb were past lovers, who were perfect for each other. Until tragedy struck and suddenly, Caleb shut her out of his life. Karma has a sense of humor and here we are six years later and who shows up in Kiera's life again, but Caleb! There he is in all his gorgeousness at a business meeting. Of course she can't resist being with him again, because what they had together was chemistry like no other.

Caleb isn't the sweet man that she was with before. The years have added an edginess to him and he's now a rich playboy. But, he knows how to push her buttons and give her exactly what she needs!

I loved the characters! I look forward to reading book 2!

A rich, handsome heir with a tragic past ISO a female sub? Come on! We’ve all seen & read this trilogy before, haven’t we?! V e r y 50 Shades here.

This book ends on a sudden cliff hanger so beware.

Both of those issues aside, from the first page, I was pulled into this story. I finished it in a day. Love the writing style & the “throwback” memories sprinkled in. Not too many - just the right amount. The main character is relatable. I liked the development of her relationship with Caleb. I love the idea of revisiting a college romance & having a second chance. The BDSM wasn’t TOO much. I would’ve liked more of an “ending” because even in a trilogy, each book tells its own story. The cliffhanger ending is a let down.

This is the first book in the Risky Business Trilogy. The story ends with a cliffhanger. Caleb and Kiera's second chance to love is intriguing. Caleb is intriguing and secretive, dominant and dark. Kiera is a lovely woman, strong, and independent. Their D/s relationship is unexpected, and their chemistry sizzling hot. The story is told with a single POV, Keira's. The storyline is intriguing, and slow paced. Caleb and Kiera share a traumatizing secret past. The back and forth, past to present, tell us only a little about the the past event. Looking forward to read the next book in the Series, Flying High.

I felt a kind of tension the entire time I read this book. It just kept me on the edge of my seat in so many ways. There are things being slowly revealed in this first book that foreshadow something maybe “earth shattering”. Instead of being slowly revealed as time progresses, the hidden secrets keep getting more complex, not easier to understand. The intrigue keeps building and the emotional entanglements are confusing, but I am compelled to know what is going to happen. I need to read the next book right now.

Caleb and Kiera take a risk to explore their steamy past
This book will pull in from the beginning and keeps you turning the pages wondering how Caleb and Kiera can move beyond their past. Kiera accepts Caleb’s proposal to train her for the duration of the project, yet they both decide to keep their present relationship a secret. The steam coming off these two will have you fanning yourself, it’s just that good. I wanted to shout at Caleb for how things ended in the past and his stupidity in the present. This ends on a cliff hanger, with the next book out on August 8th which can’t be soon enough!

Kiera and Caleb were lovers and friends that abruptly ended six years ago with the tragic death of her older brother Brian. Both left their hometown, and now have met up in Manhattan as Kiera is an account copywriter and Caleb is COO of his family's company that is using Kiera's company for their advertising needs. They rekindle their sexual affair with a steamy dominant / submissive relationship but they must keep it on the down low so not to effect their business relationship.

Interesting characters with history with each other. Looking forward to seeing how this is resolved in the second book.

This was ok, though it had potential to be so much more. I almost loved it but it just missed grabbing me by being too evasive and having that weird combination of too much of nothing going on. It was obviously trying to set the stage for some big secrets but what it failed to do was grab my attention in the moment because I kept thinking the male main character was a jerk, and the female main character was plain confusing. One minute she hates him but the next she loves him but the next she remembers to hate him again. The couple is a train wreck and is not at all interesting or people I would champion to be together. I don't plan on reading anymore of the trilogy. #netgalley #highrisk

4.5 stars! I really enjoyed this book, it is a slow burner but if you stick with it you’ll love it. I really like Keira’s character, she’s really headstrong and knows what she wants. Caleb is a strong dominant man that clearly knows what he wants but has that mysterious thing going on. I didn’t know this wasn’t a stand alone so I was gutted when the book ended and can’t wait for the next book! If you want a great steamy romance with some light BDSM and some heartbreak along the way then give this book a go. I read this book as an ARC.

Kiera Anders and Caleb Martin had just begun a relationship when tragedy ripped them apart. Six years later the company Kiera works for is pitching a new account, and Caleb appears at the meeting.

Wow, I think these are wonderfully well written, and convincing, character with a painful past that they will try to resolve in an unusual way. Fantastic romance with some unexpected twists in the plot. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

kiera is a 26year copywirter and is a force to be reckoning with. and now looking to at blue sky's air to her resume. Six years before she had left home to get away from the tragic deaths of her parents and brother caused by her brother's best friend and Kiera's ;s love. 6 years has left Caleb martin not only rich and handsome but also a dominate alpha that Kiera craves in her life. Can these two let go of the past and have a future together . This book had intrigue and suspense and i highly reccommend

Get the girl - lose the girl - get the girl - BUT from the girl's perspective.  This book delves into feelings, perceptions and has a mild cliff hanger.  Kiera and Ashlyn have a great friendship, looking forward to future books and their friendship.  Kiera and Caleb have the on/off relationship.  Their relationship has real and fake drama, fake drama got to be a little much.  This book has a very high-level view of dominance and submission - but it’s not the main subject matter of the book - not enough that it would bother people not into submission.  Good book.
