description

Whew! I’m doing a reread of this and I’m hoping I finally get all my thoughts written down this time. First of all I’d like to say that EVERY book so far has just gotten better and better. I am in awe of the world and characters Miranda has crafted.

(Spoilers if you haven’t read the first three books ahead):

We last left off with Rielle leaving to go with her brother out to sea for a while to get some space. Queen of the Shining Sea picks up about a month or so after when we last heard from her.

This series is so underrated, but beyond that the writing just improves every single book. Characters somehow manage to still grow and develop even 4 books in, relationships strengthen and change. The magic is amazing.... but now I'm stuck waiting for book 5. Siggh

I can't get enough of this series...and the cliffhanger? Oh my God...I don't think I can wait a year for the next book!

I want to know what happens with all the characters...especially Jon!

OMG, exactly what I wanted!

Could this book have been any more perfect? I don't think so. It's everything I could've asked for as far as Jon and Rielle are concerned. I just hope that Jon is still Jon by the end of the book, series.

I love this series and this newest installment did not disappoint.

I feel like I’ve said everything that needs to be said in my previous 3 reviews of the other books so I’ll add on a short note here.

Miranda’s treatment of women is beautiful. I especially loved when Brennan reflected on Kehani, the deceased mother of his child and mistress of his father. He didn’t shame her for being the other woman but praised her beauty and intelligence, mourned her death and said she deserved so much more than

Panicking

That's how I felt throughout this whole book! For the love of a sane mind, stop the insanity! Good grief! I NEEDED an oxygen mask while reading this! What an intricately woven web of multilayered plots. Gasp...it's just so much...so much awesomeness! I don't even know where to begin?
Miranda Honfleur holds no punches. Jeez. I'm all beat up. One would think that by book 4 the reader would have a grasp on the author's intention and plot direction. Nope. I still love Rielle. Her heart is g

Have you read this series yet!? Well if that answer is no, and you love adult fantasy with a female protagonist, werewolves, magic, Kings, ... Then you need to stop what you're doing and go buy book 1 now. Book 4 did not disappoint. So many twists and I can't wait to read the next book.

Miranda Honfleur's Queen of the Shining Sea was an incredible book. She finally wrapped up the love triangle that's been raging for three books (and had Rielle end up with the RIGHT person), established new and ever-more-exciting stakes, brought back some of the main characters from her amazing novel No Man Can Tame, and ended on a huge cliffhanger.

The action was great. The dialog and romance were great. The characters, as usual, were phenomenal. 2019 can't come fast enough!

This series keeps getting better and better! I love that Rielle and Jon have found their way back together. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. There are so many different sub plots happening and the action, mystery, and adventure never stops. So glad I don't have to wait too long for the next installment. A series full of passion, mystery, adventure, action, friendship, love, intrigue, and awesome characters!

Queen of the shining sea

Ah. Loved it. Was getting worried for a while that some things were taking too long to come together. But they finally did, and it was beautiful. So much happened in this book. And that ending.... Not sure how I will be able to wait for the next book. Thank you so much for such a beautiful story.

'Queen of the shining Sea' by Miranda Honfleur is the story of Rielle.
This is book isn't only about Rielle anymore. Brennan en Jon are also main charaters in this book and series.
'Court of shadows' is the third book in the series.
This series has 4 books at this time. This audiobook is about 18 hours and 23 minutes long. .

I am not sure anymore wich book in this series is my favorite. They keep getting better.

First off, when is book five going to be out, because I am in love with this series! Each book keeps getting better and better, and the story never lulls. Miranda is such a fantastic writer, and truly leads the listener through this story of magic, relationships, and suspense! The story also really touched my heart because of the beautiful example of what a female can be, and what respect for a woman should look like, and what relationships should include.

I love a female protagonist! Another gr

I loved Queen of the Shining Sea! This is book four in the Blade and Rose series and each book just keeps getting better and better. Listening to Amanda Leigh Cobb read through all of the ups and downs (and lefts and rights) just brings this story to life. I really enjoyed getting a feel for Rielle on her own, making a difference and doing what she felt was right. It was a nice change from her being “kept safe” by everyone around her in the last book. (Brennan. I’m looking at you.) As in the oth ...more

This is book 4 in Honfleur's Blade and Rose series. I have to say that you really need to read this series in order - and even then, if there is a lag of time between reads, you may want to go back and re-read / listen. There are so many characters and inter woven storylines with twists and turns that it can be confusing but at the same time the author does such a good job you feel like you could actually be among these characters in this world at this time. Such amazing talent and the narration ...more

Miranda Honfleur’s Queen of the Shining Sea (Blade and Rose Book 4) simply had it all. Treachery and intrigue. Action and adventure on the high seas and land. Love and romance. Magic and swordplay. A fantastic lead in Rielle, supported by a superb cast in a well written novel that’s perfectly plotted and cleverly continues a growing over-arching tale. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely ...more

Recommends it for: Everyone
Miranda Honfluer is an amazing author who has given us another great story in this series. Even though it seems impossible, each story seems to get better than the one before and each one has held my interest from beginning to end. This story is no exception. There are all my favorite characters, as well as a few new ones. This story has everything anyone could want: action, adventure, suspense, love, hate, death, dragons, Immortals, and much, much more. I would recommend this book and this seri ...more

I love epic type books. I want to get lost in a book and be able to follow characters in a series. Miranda does that, and she does it well. I love this series!!!! Miranda has it all - strong leading ladies, supernatural creatures, magic, and a good story line.

Rielle and her band of misfits are still trying to save the country from all that is threatening it. All the while she is trying to save her heart and find the love of her life. Will it all work out, will she make it in time, will it be Br

I was given a free ARC copy but this is my honest review

600 pages have never seemed so short! My only issue with how often Jon said some sort of plea to Terra and a typo near the end. The cliffhanger at the end has left me speculating hard. I am shook, y'all. The author has a way of putting a lot of conflict in a story without it seeming to be just to push the plot along. The set backs, the resolutions, the good and bad all blend seamlessly into a captivating story that feels like getting lost i

Can't stop reading!

As a reader of many, many UF, PNR, PN & romance books, this series still remains in my top 5! I just can't stop reading them! The world building, the beautiful descriptions, the engaging storyline and all the characters contribute to the addiction that is the Blade & Rose series and book 4 is definitely no exception. Even with the unfortunate confusion in Amazon on release day, Queen of the Shining Sea was well worth the short wait while Amazon fixed the issue. I can't recomme

It was great, really right mix of everything. Looking forward to final part!

Small issue #1: Leigh's story is almost non-existant. I think more or non space for it would be better, but I suppose there is more comming.

Small issue #2: It seams to me that there are more and more parts in books repeating something what was already said or thought. Most time it is some other character thinking the thing which was thinkink another character just couple minutes/hours/days ago. Sometimes we encounter sam

Masterful

How does one leave a review when the ENTIRE book was masterfully written! There are no words to describe the feelings, the gut wrenching feelings, this book offered. The author so masterful that characters worth 5 chapters captured us enough to cause devastation when they were killed or betrayed! The persistence of both Jon and Rielle is not annoying, but honorable in their fight to save their home! And why does Leigh keep getting the short end of the stick. Book 5 cannot come fast enou

Complex and well written series

I really don't understand why this series isn't more well known! The series reels you in with how vibrant it is. Theres complexity and good character development. Too many fantasy books/series have YA friendly one dimensional characters that all follow a similar story line.

Queen of the shining sea had been my favorite so far. In my opinion, it's not quite as innocent and light as the first book nor quite as heavy as the second. In a separate note, as a JD myself, I

So good!!!!!!

I feel in love with this series from the start. I have greedily read each book and have never been disappointed with each new book. This book so far has been my favorite. Ties that were once severed have been reformed and others left to blow in the wind. After the ending of this book I can’t wait to see what happens next. Please please let the wait for the next book be less!

Fabulous edge of the seat read. This series just gets better and better. After five months at sea Reille returns to face Brennan and Jon. She has decided what must be done and now she carries through with her hearts desire. Though out all her efforts to obtain what she wants her adventures continue. I totally love this series and am hanging out till the next book arrives for the adventure to continue. Totally recommend this series.
