Come to a world Harry Potter and Harry Dresden could both call home. Jinx Hamilton inherits her aunt’s general store and a legacy of witchcraft, but there’s far more to the story.
What begins on a sweet “cozy” note evolves into a paranormal urban fantasy series readers say they just can’t put down.
From shapeshifting werecats and ancient Fae to baseball playing ghosts and paramilitary fairy troops, these books have it all!
Twisty mysteries. Hilarious hijinks. And page-turning escapism. What are you waiting for?
Juliette Harper is the pen name used by the writing team of Patricia Pauletti and Rana K. Williamson. As a writer, Juliette's goal is to create strong female characters facing interesting, challenging, painful, and at times comical situations. Refusing to be bound by genre, her primary interest lies in telling good stories.
Juliette Harper never disappoints! The Jinx Hamilton series is full of laughter, love and magic. The characters are so well written that they feel like a part of the family. I find myself laughing out loud when Jinx and Tori bicker or reference the shows I always loved to watch. I cried when things got heavy and I cheered when characters got their comeuppance. This is an incredible series that just gets better with each book!
Great fantasy books. I could not put down until I finished the last book in the starter packet. Very imaginative and entertaining. I am now a Big fan of Juliette Harper will be reading the rest of this series and the other books she has written and will write in the future.
Run don't walk to the place where you won't be interrupted while you are are reading this triple edition! Jinx is my newest best friend. Not to mention her string puller Ms Harper! I so look forward to exploring her universe! I mean it! READ THIS!
When jinx gets a shop from her aunt who passed away she sees it as a blessing. Can she overcome all that comes along in this supercharged store. Definitely fun reading
Love this whole series and eagerly awaiting for! The characters are intricate, and richly developed, the mystery is enough to pull in for more, but not enough to leave you confused. (Anyone else still pissed at Lord of the Rings for this??) I want to be magical, so I can be in Jinksy's crew!
Books 1 through 3 of the Jinx Hamilton Series. This/these are the first books I have read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed them. Good detail, good follow through and continuity. #JulietteHarper could not find your email addy to send review
It was the name and book blurb that caught my attention for this one. Who wouldn’t want to read a book about a young woman named Jinx who suddenly gains magical powers?!?!
Book 1 – 3.5 stars This one set the tone for me and had me interested in reading more! It’s cute, fast-paced, and filled with new and interesting characters. I’m a sucker for funny ghosts and quirky animals so Beau (gentleman ghost) and Rodney the Rat really worked for me! This is a first person POV which I don’t usually like. The perspective worked well for this one though. Jinx is a Southern girl and it felt like she was sharing a story with an old friend – complete with Civil War references, yes ma’am’s and ‘bless your hearts’. I truly enjoyed this book!
Book 2 – 3 stars This one got more complicated and even started adding in a general third person POV in parts. Normally, that’s my preferred narrative as you get all POVs but it doesn’t fit well with the fun story telling vibe of the first book. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first. However, I was still interested and wanted to know more as the expanded view brought in more magic, more history, and more characters!
Book 3 – 2.5 stars I feel like the original heroine Jinx got lost in the big picture in this one. She was an endearing story teller in the first book but she often has just a minor role in this one. Smaller characters are given much bigger parts and a lot of the action and revelations take place without Jinx. The POV switches more often between Jinx in first person, a general third person, and almost a first person POV for the villain. There are also historical flashbacks and various views of the past and even the present. It feels much messier than the first one and even the second. I’m not certain I’m following the author’s intention with the series any longer. It is a fun magical world though and I still want to know what happens.
Obviously, I averaged the 3 books for my overall rating. I am going to continue with the next one but I have to admit that I’m more cautious than excited. I want resolution though and I hope the next one returns the focus to Jinx. I am also still willing to check out other books by this author.
This series must be read in order. This box set includes the first three books. I can't wait to read Witch On First!
When her "Crazy Aunt Fiona" dies and leaves her a shop in the small Southern town of Briar Hollow Jinx realizes her whole life is about to change. Little does she know how much! Quitting her job as a waitress and moving seem like a huge deal. Her real life is about to start! A sleepy offhand wish for her Aunt's magic turns her whole world upsidedown. Can she learn to control her newfound powers? Why did noone tell her of this amazing family legacy? What will Tori think when she finds out? What else is the world hiding?
***This series is suitable for young adult through adult readers who enjoy modern paranormal fantasy romance set in a small Southern town full of humor, mystery, intrigue, magic, mayhem, and adventure with a dash or two of suspense :)
