I think no other book in molecular biology would give you this much interest in reading and clarify the concepts regarding nucleic acids. Although it is not up-to-date, it gives you a very big foundation in biophysical concepts of DNA and RNA, besides explaining very early experiments on these nucleic acids. I would recommend every enthusiast to read the textbook as a starter for the subject till the last page. Then you can proceed to more advanced textbooks like Alberts or Lodish.
