I made it through this one, which I can’t say for all Koonce books, but I didn’t enjoy it, and I won’t read book 2. I was excited for this adaptation of Greek myth because I love myth and fairytale adaptations, but this was a let down. Either the MC was TSTL or this plot had some giant sink holes, but either way, this was a frustrating read.

The premise of this book is that the gods released Pandora—aka Hope, our MC—from the box where she’d been imprisoned for thousands of years so that she could

Book one in the brand new Harem of Misery series and what an intriguing start it is too. We meet Pandora who has been trapped inside the box she opened as punishment since it happened. Now for some reason the Gods take her out and challenge her to return to Earth where she will capture three sinful people in the box to earn her freedom. A babysitter is sent with her to keep her in line but there is a nic

This one was a different type of story! When we think about Pandora we get only one image in our minds!
Here it goes even further: what if after tousands od years Pandora Would be asked to bring 3 miseries to gods? How Would it look? What twists Would be placed There?
Good read with mythology twists

Pandora's Box. We all know the story, right? Pandora opened a jar/box containing sickness, death and other evils which were then released into the world. Though she tried to close the container, only one thing was left behind – Hope. So, yes, we are all familiar with the story but we don't know Pandora. The woman who was tricked, who unleashed the miseries, who was severely punished and has suffered every moment since her one mistake. Now the gods have offered her a chance at freedom. All she ha ...more

I had no idea what to do covet from this book however it is such an interesting concept for a new series by two very talented authors! From the very beginning this story captivated my attention and it kept it all the way through. Everyone knows the legend of Pandora’s box but in this story we get to know who Pandora is, how she has been tortured by Gods, how lonely she is! But we also get to see her quirky side, walking around in a silk bath robe, having naughty thoughts, watching porn for hours ...more

I both loved and disliked to some extent this book.

What I loved: this is a seriously epic story! I love the concept of Pandora and her men out to defeat Zeus’ hold on her. Seriously, the storyline is wonderfully entertaining and intriguing.

Pandora is a pretty interesting character. I really liked that her personality is so confident in some aspects and vulnerable in others.

What I immensely disliked about this book is the almost complete lack of character development for the guys: Alex, Zavier

We all have heard the story of Pandora's box. This is a story that brings Pandora to the modern world. She was imprisoned by Zeus for opening her box and unleashing the miseries on the world. Zeus has chosen to let Pandora out and to have a chance at gaining her freedom. She has to put three people who exhibit the miseries that she unleashed into her box. By doing this she will earn her freedom. However, the compassionate side of Pandora is getting in her way of taking peoples live

I am big fan of greek mythology and it was a first time for me to read about pandora in some novel but i was gravelly disappointed. Though i did like the idea of Pandora and her box getting thrown into modern life but the storyline was not well plotted , the relationships between characters did not have a good foundation. I kinda thought there would be some sort of romantic relationship between pandora and alex but the whole book was about pandora fucking men or thinking about them sexually, lik ...more

A chance at redemption for Pandora after a thousand years trapped inside her box of pain. The Gods offer her freedom if she can retrieve three miseries. They didn't mention that miseries came in the form of heart-pounding, sexy men. She also gets her very own guard dog God, Alexius, the god of misery. She has no problem targeting the men, but after getting to know them and her experience in the box, she is having a hard time capturing them. She is amazed by the way of the world after such a long ...more

I love this different take on the Greek Gods, and how they took Pandora's slight. I have long loved the works of both A.K. Koonce and Laura Greenwood, so was really excited for this book to come out. And it did not disappoint!

Pandora's Pain is a great reverse harem story that incorporates all the things to keep me, as a reader, interested. This included some amazing twists and turns (like, just who is Alex?), some extremely hilarious scenes (all the nudity!), Pandora's sarcasm and wit, and some

I LOVE Greek mythology, so I really wanted to read this book and see what the authors would do with the Pandora story, even if things did get a little reverse harem-kinky in the process. However, whilst Pandora herself seems to be a very dirty minded, sex-obsessed woman, there's very little actual sexual content in this book. And the hilarity of the contrast between characters, the drama of Pandora's quest, and the intriguing development of the relationships make this a very good read that I can ...more

I loved this story but this one is just a bit too short I want to know more, but in saying that I did enjoy this story. Everyone knows the story of Pandora well this is after she had opened the box, the gods are giving Pandora a chance at freedom all she has to do is collect 3 of the greatest sins of the whole world and once she does Pandora will be forgiven and earn her freedom. Excellent introduction to a new series.
This story gripped me from the start. It caught my attention, and simply would not let me go.
I really like this twist on the famous myth. It shows the gods in a different light from how they are usually portrayed. Pandora, as well.
Pandora is such a multi-layer character. We really feel her loss, and her challenge of experiencing a brand-new world. She has a unique sense of naivety, especially for someone who has been through so much at the hands of the gods

A new outlook on Pandora

Pandora has always been one of my favorite Greek myths, and this is an amazing new look on her story, from her point of view. I really enjoyed this quick read, Pandora's character is funny, and charming, even through her carelessness born of centuries of being trapped and alone. Although I didn't feel like I got to know the guys very well, except for Alex, whom I adored! I'm looking forward to reading the next book in Pandora's story and getting to know the other men in h

Great spin on the Pandora’s Box story. Pandora is still alive after thousands of years. After she opened the box, the Gods trapped her in it. They give her a chance at freedom. All she has to do is collect three sins. Unfortunately, the sins are tied to people, which means she has to take their lives to get the sins.
Things start to go awry as soon as Pandora is sent to Earth. She is very funny as she is learning about the world as she goes. I liked all 3 guys even though we don’t get to know th

I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this but I am very impressed! A great idea for a story, Pandora’s box. It has been executed well, I love Pandora’s spunk and fiestiness, especially given her past. The love the interactions between her and Alex, and the other characters are also great.. I enjoyed the twists and the plot that I did not see coming, it’s like a fun mythology lesson, and I am very looking forward to the next book as I need to see what happens next

I love mythology of all kinds, so I am game for any book that is drawn from it. This story, based on the myth of Pandora, is very well put together. The plot is good one, and I even found myself laughing out loud at times. This is definitely a slow burn reverse harem...very slow. But, that just makes me eager for the next book!

Pandora is offered a chance for freedom by Zeus - but she has to destroy three sinners' lives to gain it. She has no idea of how much earth has changed while she has been imprisoned - or how she will be affected by Alex, who the gods have sent to 'help' her. When she meets Xavier and Ashton, she really isnt sure whether she will be able to fulfill her task

I'm really enjoying the mix of Greek mythology and modern times. I really like how Pandora is settling into the 21st century and finding happiness when she's really supposed to be causing misery. The guys are all great and I'm liking the fact that they aren't just throwing themselves at her and they are pretty great too. I'm enjoying the way that everything is going so far and I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Truly amazing

What an amazing read! I just love how independent Pandora is and at the same time naive. The world has drastically changed since she’s last been out. But she’s not giving up and learning to adapt as best as she can with help of sexy guys! I love the realization she comes to the guys and the box - which is a nono 😁
Pandora’s pain is a great start to a new series. I really like the blend of writing styles between Greenwood and Koonce. Pandora is a great leading lady. She is a bit of a rebel and has been through a lot, but also still has some innocence to her after being locked away for years. The story is a slow burn, and I can’t wait to see how relationships develop with each of the guys!

Such a wicked twist on the story of Pandora's Box!! I love the fact that the authors put the twist onto the story that they did. It put Pandora and the Gods into a different light and made me feel sorry for Dora. I can not wait to see what is in store for the next book in this series! I really like this take on Pandora's mythology.I love how even though she was stuck in the box for thousands of years as punishment for opening it, she is still a strong character. I really like how even though she wants to be free of the Gods and the box she is still going to fight for herself and her miseries. I can't wait to see what happens in Pandora's Envy!

downright amazing

truly love this book got the connection between Pandora and Alex he is very witty for someone who has been locked up for years. She has to find misery to replace her in the box and they offer her freedom. Truly love the way the story develops and how the plot thickens cannot wait for Pandora's and the to be released.

I received an ARC copy of this book about the Gods and Pandora and I have to say it is very uniquely written. In this version of Pandora, you actually get to know her has a person instead of just being a woman who opened a forbidden box of sins. Her character is fun, quirky, strong, vulnerable and determined which I like. I cannot wait to read the 2nd book.

Pandora has been imprisoned in her box since she released the miseries into the world. She is now given a chance to be free but only if she imprisoned three other people who represent the miseries. I really liked two of pandora's men, Brock not so much. I love the twist on the myth and how would the miseries be represented in the modern age. Can't wait to see where the story goes next.
I Loved Pandora and all her personality, how she learns to fit in with this new society. I also loved her sinful men and arrogant babysitter.

The gods remove her from Pandora’s box to re enter society, thousand of years later and retrieve three miseries.

I loved this book, it was different and interesting. Bring on Book 2!

An interesting idea of Pandora trying to win her freedom and walking in our time. She definitely has a huge hurdle to achieve but the gods are not going to make anything easy. Can she trust the one god who is supposed to help her? What if the men she meets? Lots to go on and we won’t know what will happen until book two. Things almost heat up but she can never catch a break.

I Recommend this book for OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT. This was a great read that kept me hooked. This storyline is intriguing and full of mystery. Pandora wants to be free of the torment of being imprisoned in a box. In order for her to be free the God's want her to do a task for them but can she trust them?

This story is good and intriguing. I hate that I was so wrapped up in the story that when the ending came it was like a slap in the face! That ending...mmm. I want to keep Alex for myself. I like that Pandora asked some really valid and interesting questions about her creation. Makes you want to know what happens next.
