What happens when Thor, the Norse god of Thunder, pulls me out of my mundane life by claiming me as the Chosen One?
When Sif was 18, her parents tossed her into the adult world, unprepared for the day-to-day. They disagreed with her life choices in believing in the Norse gods.
Told to make her own way by her parents, Sif is now a struggling college student, just trying to get by. But now, she's diving into her Nordic studies, finding footing and comfort in the myths of old. She's DIY'ed a close network of friends who've become like family—until one day, a brawny Norse god swinging a mighty hammer arrives and tells her that the world needs her for the pending, epic battle of good versus evil.
Lady Hel, the goddess of death, now seeks revenge, and Thor is placing Sif on the front lines. All roads lead to Sif, and she'll have to choose sides carefully, or humanity will pay the ultimate price.
And when stuck between two gods, how's a woman to choose?

This series is best enjoyed when read in order.
Readers who enjoy dystopian fantasy fiction with Norse mythology, rising romantic tensions, and action and adventure will adore this fascinating series of gods, monsters and heroes by USA Today bestselling author Tina Glasneck.
TINA GLASNECK can't imagine a world without books. Her works have been classified in several genres, including mystery, suspense, fantasy and paranormal romance, and new adult.Yet for Tina, it is all about the characters and their journeys.
An avid reader with a love of traveling, meeting new people and exploring her world, her interest in law, religion, history, fantasy, and dragons, made writing about it an “easy” choice. Give her a castle to enchant her, and tell her a funny story to make her snort with laughter, but please don’t serve her cake with red icing.
Tina takes joy in beautiful architecture, lively cities and world travel. She enjoys creating make-believe worlds where she sometimes resides, and is often thinking and tinkering on her next story. Sometimes she feels like a real life Cinderella, without the ashes or the fairy godmother, and at other times, she is just a girl, looking for a chance to tell that next great story.
Hellbent is book two in Tina Glasneck's Hell Chronicles and this book is, for the most part, absolutely fantastic. This book picks up where the first book in the series left off and I absolutely devoured it. Hel has been reunited with her love, Harley, and she is now waiting for the curse to be lifted. But it hasn't been. Turns out Odin doesn't plan on letting her return. Hel isn't going to take this laying down though so she begins to make her own plans to free herself and her siblings. They've been looked down on for too long simply for looking and being different. It's time to end this. This story bounces from various characters but each chapter is marked so you know who the story is following. I must admit that I have never read a lot of stories with the Scandinavian gods but I really and truly dislike Odin the most. LOL! He's so arrogant and such a jerk! I could not stand him for the life of me. Sif gets on my nerves, too because she seems to fail to fully understand certain situations. I like the flow of the story. It is well-paced, engaged and kept me interested. I will say that close to the end is when some hiccups popped up for me. It seemed that the story started to skip around a bit. Almost like the author lost focus and came back and just decided to start somewhere. It left me confused and I had to backtrack and reread slowly to know whether there was a change in character or something missing. I also didn't like it when Sif and her friends are in a certain situation and she says "I can't help feeling that this is my fault." I literally wanted to yell at her...BECAUSE IT IS!! Because it honestly was. But it's also not long before her friends show their true colors. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I am totally rooting for Lady Hel and I love how well she is written. There are certain dynamics and situations I don't understand, but I'm hoping that it will all come together in the big picture. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
Lady Hel has found her true love …. Harley who is her reincarnated lost love. However, she wasn’t restored to her lost kingdom, as promised. She is still exiled on Earth. Her thoughts turn to her family and how badly they’ve been treated by Odin. She wants to set them free from their prisons … This will also give the gods their comeuppance. Sif is a college student, who is essentially a pawn of the gods. She decides she wants to take charge of her destiny. Her dilemma: is Hel misunderstood, or evil? The ending is definitely a surprise. Looking forward to book 3 in the series. I received a free copy; this is my honest review.
This story picks up when Hellish ended and I like that fact quite a lot. I needed more Lady Hell myself.
What put me off? Politics.
Ok, I have to admit it was interesting to read about the Norse Gods and all that but I draw a line in the sand when it comes to politics. I don't like it in my books. If you do, you may well enjoy this a lot more than I did.
Sif is a strong character and with Lady Hell in the picture, there's always something to keep reading about. I laughed in some parts because it was pretty funny too, despite the politics.
(Do you understand I don't like politics? LOL)
It was well written. It was well paced and kept me reading until the end.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes books with Norse mythology because it's really good in that aspect. It shows that the author did some good research into it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I got a copy of this for a fair and honest review. I just finished this book and my heart is still racing with pain, fear and heartbreak. The change of events has so much on the verge of coming all apart. Lady Hel has been through so much and which Pantheon of the gods to take charge. It sounds like the realms are all on the razor's edge of war. I was not ready for what took place at the end. It still has me longing for Freedom. If you want to know what I am talking about pick up the series and join the adventure.
Lady Hel continues to be an interesting character, just as I always knew she would be, but now we’ve been introduced to Sif as well. This young woman has a life that I do not envy in the least: pushed about on the gods’ chessboard with very little say in the matter. But what happens when she starts to take back some of that power and starts making decisions on her own? Why, all Hel(l) breaks loose. But you’ll have to read it to find out more.
It was so sad. This one pulled at my heart, but it was funny too. Sif and Lady He l melted me reading. I agree with the reviewer "Seraphia", the Gods are jerks. Odin and Freya are just playing around with the lives of everyone. The story jumps around at times and left me a little confused but I was able to figure it out. I didn't enjoy the ending but I won't give it away so I'll be reading the next installment.

I read this book when it was in the Legends and Lore box set. This is book two of the Hell Chronicles series and picks up where Hellish left off, but can be read as a standalone. The Hell Chronicles is about Lady Hel and in this book we meet Sif who is a friend of Harley. There is plenty of humor and craziness wrapped up in this story.
The saga continues as Lady Hel has been reunited with her lost love the Erlking. The Norns are in the works behind the scenes and a lot of action happens. The characters are engaging and the story moves through at a rapid pace. On a side note, it does end in a cliffhanger, but the Helltown is available. Overall I really recommend this series.
Second book in the series. It takes off right where book one ended. We get a lot more of Lady Hel. Sif is the main character of this story as we travel in Midgard and Asgard. Thor, Odin, Freyja and even Loki become more involved in the story. But one of the fates may have a little too much to say. Can’t wait to start book three.
Overall the Asgardian concept is good. I found the writing probably suited a younger more naive audience. I found a few of the character reactions logically inconsistent, the thought processes were stupid and unbelievable. Even though I liked the concepts I will not be continuing with the series. However that said its worth giving a go to see if its your style.
The story from Hellish continue. It can be read fairly as stand alone. Sif - college girl that got herself in the middle of Norse gods politics. She has something in her. Interesting insight in Norse mythology with the modern background. I really enjoyed reading it.
The concept was good, but the plot was a bit confused. I'm not 100% keen on the idea of bringing the Norse gods into the modern era, but I gave it a try to see what it was like. To be honest, I have read better than this. I found it rather derivative and by the end, I had no idea what was going on.
Poorly written (or edited) full of contradictions and a storyline that doesn’t make any sense - I haven’t read many worse books. Not sure what the author got an award for previously but it wasn’t this....
Gave up half way through. I didn't realize this was book 2 of a series when I loaded it on to my Kindle from Storybundle. There was not enough context to pick this up as a first read in the series. I won't be buying the first book because of the trouble with the second.
A wonderfully enchanting read with some giggle-worthy moments I have to say I seriously love Hel and Thor well every time I could hear Chris Hemsworth's voice speaking...lol a really great story.
Hellbent continues the story of Lady Hel. She is such a great female lead in that she is completely relatable. In book 2 we learn more about her and knowing her more understand why she is the way she is. Of course the Author does not give it all away so I cant wait for Book 3
